  • Beautiful song, beautiful lady.

  • i love this song:)

  • i love this song !!!

  • my eyes are not blue babe, but mine never left you until the angels came and took you away one summer day...you will always be my LISA...always...

  • Shes's not Jessi

    Her name was Mariam

    Jessi left you years ago.

  • at the end of the song she makes eye contact and it is like she is singing directly to me.

  • OMG what a beautiful voice and woman.

  • she took after her daddy

  • sister got some heart bout i dont know.

  • Shes not lisa. Shes Rachel Roxxx.

  • i think of this song a lot, and i love this performance!

  • THIS IS NOT LISA !

  • Great song by a great singer on an all time great show, Hee Haw.

  • that woman was smoking hot

  • To my old grilfriend Lisa who hated this song everytime I hear it I think of her.I hope you are doing well Lisa R.

  • ChiroQuacker, you must have low self esteem to be picking her apart! You forget this is about music, NOT Ms. America judging! However, she's a beautiful lady w/ a great voice! Keep your rude comments to yourself! That's why the world is the way it is today, people like you with ignorance & hatred. Wish you could post a pic, but then again, there would be a lot more rude comments that this world does NOT need :-o Peace my friends....

  • cant forget this ever

  • Effortless

  • I feel sad for Julie. Doesn't she have anybody else to long for, besides this pouting whiner who can't even remember her name is Julie? If he won't move on and forget Lisa, then it's time for Julie to move on and stop trying to help heal his broken heart.

It doesn't get more country than this.

  • It's a lovely tune though, don't you think? And yes, country is what Jessi Colter is/was, whether you like complaining cowboys/girls or not. Colter apparently wrote that song in 15 minutes. I think that's talent.

  • Absolutely, as sung by Jessi. I love that 70's look she has here. She's absolutely gorgeous.

The first time I ever heard this song was the Killdozer cover, and I first heard that some time in the 90's. So obviously, it sounds lot different sung by a rock n' roll band, whose specialty happened to be country and small town life in the Midwest. Killdozer respects the singer, as they are country fans, but being sung by a man makes a mockery of the story being told. A very amusing cover.

  • I think I remember watching this on Hee Haw! Love this song!

  • Never mind the song. Nice room. Great fireplace. OK, nice song, too. I'm gonna have to go find my old Outlaws CD. Thanks for posting this.

  • Beautiful song and a beautiful lady

  • @ChiroQuacker --- she has lipstick on...geesh

  • @anastasia1969

Yes, and eyebrow modifications and false lashes.....so what? She has the voice of an angel. I love this song.

  • This was one of my favorite songs on the 70s, and it still is today. And yep, she was a fox!

  • Wow, I never realized how beautiful she was. This song brings tears to many eyes I'm sure.

  • today they'd fix her teeth and do derm abrassion to clear up her complexion...and her makeup is lousy..her lips look white...like she hasnt taken a dump in a month

she was cute...better though in my memory...

as for waylon..he looked like he didnt bathe to often so jessi had to take it and bare it if you know what i mean

  • @ChiroQuacker This is what REAL people look like, without all the surgery and crap the celebrities have today. She looked GOOD............As God intended.

  • Very unprofessional comments if you are, as insinuated, a chiropractor or even if you are not. Easy to make unpleasant remarks anonymously.

  • TAKES ME BACK TO A SIMPLER TIME, WHEN LOVE MEANT MORE.

  • I miss waylon so bad he was the best jessi your priflished just to have spent time with A LEGENT

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!! She is one of the greatest country western singers, her husband ranks right with her waylon Jennings,Together they were apart of the five outlaws!

  • The most beautiful country voice ever and woman

  • My favorite Jessi song and video.

  • Hauntingly beautiful - the song AND the lady. Those were "the good ol' days."

  • LOVE the pedal guitar

  • wow- she is amazing. How any man could cry for lisa when jessie was there....?

  • the woman who captured the great waylons heart. great singer

  • Im speechless she is so beautiful and Waylon was one lucky man to have had her......

  • @troy2701 they were truely in love

  • My God, I'm crying. What a beautiful song done so well by this beautiful lady.

  • This song still sucks!

  • @llibnorhcop -- Is that all that you have to hear with?

  • Man what a song and what a singer, where's it all gone?

  • Loved this song way back when.

  • Jessi Colter was an amaizing looking girl in her day. Absoultley gorgeous.

  • Jessi lived the true life of a wife of a Country Superstar....Waylon was so lucky to have country soul and country beauty in his life

  • I love real country music.

  • this was my favorite as a small child...never could find it till now! Thanks so much for the memories!!

  • @wagnerduane36 Agreed !!!! 100%

  • @spunkycv62 Well Bless your heart for a great comment. Nashville Sucks. You know I have not bought an album in over 25 years --So hey if Nashville does not want my money than fine. They're the ones losing out. At least my wallet is getting fatter. Until Music City changes their ways and STOP'S the NEW BS what they call country. I will continue to fatten my wallet. hey 25 years of not buying country music...do the math? Sick of the NEW Nashville.

  • Love the old AND the new. World's big enough for both.

  • I don't get it..why would nashville stop this kind, of sound for the one trick ponies

they have today..they all suck/alot of our old country singers are in the hall of fame

but nashville does not honor them at all.Actually I am a songwriter but due to the fact I write traditional country music, all the publishers say my music is good but it's just to dated....to old...toooo country!!! emmm imagine that..silly me

  • One of my favorite brunettes in country music. So gorgeous.

  • Man she was smokin hot

  • Why don't they do more like this one.

  • GREAT song and singer

  • Jessi Colter is so so pretty when she sings this song. I just love her.

  • Who needs blue eyes when you look like this women? She has the prettiest chocolate brown eyes i've seen. Beauty+Talent= Brunette.

  • she is such a beautiful woman and this song can only be song by her! most definitely

  • Simply beautiful.

  • This is why i have serius satellite, this new country crap cant hold a candle to real country like this.

  • at a karaoke night, my friend (named Lisa) sang this song. it was helarious

  • This came out when I was in a very bad situation and I could not bear to listen to it. The music today is slop.

  • Hey ,..Did you happen to see the most beautiful girl in the world ?,....She is Jessi

  • @BOURBONJULIO And if you fif was she crying crying? Hey did you happen to see the most beautiful who walked out on me? Tell her im sorry tell her I need my baby oh wont you tell her that I love her.

  • HAUNTING EYES

  • love all these songs glad my grandmother and mother played this growing up i am 24 and proud to say that they need to bring this country back its the best it has true heart to it

  • Mr - thats a sad tale. Great sad song gents.

  • I remember my dad not being able to listen to this song after my mom was killed in a car crash in 1974. And he was a tough man.

  • Loved this song the very first time I heard it and still love it today !!!!

  • I fell in love with Jessi in the early 1970s.The most underrated country.singer ever, imo.

  • Happy to admit I remember this, but can't name one country song that's out currently. I listened to this, Donna Fargo's Funny Face and anything by Crystal Gayle. The good ol' days, when country was cool.

  • @MissDLB66 I heard that!

  • hotdam that still wrenches the soul outta my heart..............

  • @metalhijinx " No good song ever came out of a glass of tea ".................Waylon Jennings

  • @slickwing Probably because it's not a good idea to drink hot liquids from a glass. As for good songs coming out of a cup of tea, Ray Davies might have something to say about that.

  • @BlackMonk66 You missed the point dear fellow. We drink iced tea in the Southern United States .What Waylon means is hard living and hard drinking are usually related to hard times. Adversity develops character. Country music ( honky tonk ) comes from hard living.

  • @slickwing I got his point. My point was that good songs can come from anywhere. Everyone has had a life full of experiences and feelings that could make good songs. The difference is that some people have the talent to write those songs and some don't.

I'd put Ray Davies up against Waylon Jennings or anyone as a songwriter and I'll stand on Steve Earle's coffee table in my Chelsea boots and say that.

  • @slickwing Agreed! Cheers.

  • I'm converting the album to mp3 as I type. Bought the album in Japan sometime between 1975 and 78. Agree, she's a babe! A lot of country soul from the old times. My all time favorite is Hank Williams "Ramblin Man." Brings back memories of a small bar in one of the back alleys of Sasebo, Japan sometime between 1964 and 1966. My alcohol soak brain don't remember all that well.

  • professorfat01.....you got that right my friend

  • This song was written in Stitzer, Wisconsin a tiny town of about 20 houses, a feed mill and a tavern.

  • Waylon sure had him a trophy wife. its a wonder she stuck with him thow during the 70s. but thats what you call true love. now days women leave ya the first time you fuck up.

  • This is country music.

  • There are a couple of examples of TODAY's country musicians displaying as much feeling in their songs: Reba & Kelly C's duet - "Because of You" as well as Sugar Land's "Why Don't You Stay". If you did not have a tear in your eye after they performed that song at the CMA's then maybe you listen to too much hip-hop ! :-)

  • @llibnorhcop you suck

  • I like this today and I thoroughly enjoyed when it was new. However, in 1975, it was thoroughly trashed by the then critics and Jessi was trashed along with it.

    Times have changed!

  • \I never realized Jessi was such a pretty girl!!

  • Carrie Underwood eat your frigging heart out! You will never be as talented and NEVER be as good looking!!!!

  • I wish those days could come back when people had feeling and love in there hearts this is country music at the best

  • Jessi, Has always been my favorite Outlaw wife and Mother. All The Best To you! Jessi!

  • beautiful

  • I've heard this song since it was released, but never caught the lyrics, "My eyes are not blue, but mine won't leave you, UNTIL THE SUNLIGHT HAS TOUCHED YOUR FACE" So, she leaves him also, just like Lisa, but waited to leave until the morning?

  • @SonoVox100 no. she won't leave him until god's sunlight shines on him to take him away.............truly a great song of unconditional love.

  • What a great country ballad! Jessi made this song into a classic, what a beautiful voice she has.

  • I think she is one of the prettiest women EVER. Waylon had good taste.

  • If you love her set her free, if she comes back her love was meant to be, if she doesnt..... HUNT THE BITCH DOWN...... what.... what do you mean thats not politically correct

  • Has there ever been anyone hotter than her?

  • This is Jessi at her very best, this song gives me the chills, so beautiful and so sad!

  • Comment removed

  • She gets prettier with age!

  • @wambam2007 chill out it is just a song. and i don't hear her talking about prison or any other such thing. she is stating that she is not leaving her man that she is standing by him through all of it. pay attention to the words

  • It doesn't get any better than this.

  • Oh, yes, yes. A tear in my eye, too!

  • I'm beginning to dislike "dislikes". This is perfect music. What the heck is the matter with peoples hearing and souls.Classic music. Damn.

  • Yea

these kinds of songs enriched and gave hope

Now all we have is mindless selfish arrogant crap out there

    Keep Believin in the truth

    and you'll never be lost

  • Yes she was something else.

  • In my opinion this is the greatest country song of all time. Because of the broad statement I know I will get lots of people who disagree but what the heck.

  • @weewaa101 I'd like to empty a load of two 12 gauge shotgun shells on your face so we could enjoy this wonderful music without trash like you on here spouting off garbage like this. What a low classed immature piece of crap.

  • all these years, and still tears

  • I have hit the replay button a hundred times, I think I will play it again.

  • You know I have heard other artist try an do this song, but No one can do this song but Jessi. What a great classic. Thanks for uploading this video.

  • @Professorfate01 This is my husbands favourite song. I can't hold a grudge, but this song is not about me and although I can't hold a grudge it still makes me sad! i wish I could have meant that much to him!!!!

  • @Professorfate01 Mrs Waylon Jennings is the only one who can do this song. Love her voice

  • I wish the so called new country music singers could put as much feeling into thier singing,Not happening

  • @wagnerduane36

You gotta look to the "alt.country" folks for real good stuff these days.

  • @wagnerduane36 because they don't live it, country might be sad, but it's real to the core.

  • @wagnerduane36 It's not going to happen... not in mainstream country, because mainstream country is bullshit that has completely lost it's roots. Nowadays if you want good country you better learn about "The Avett Brothers", or "Band of Horses"... because today those two bands are taking country in the direction it belongs.

  • As a child, I remember my Father playing this over and over and over after my Mother left.

  • @fschneider926 i' know how you feel, when my mom left my dad would always play (The Most beautiful girl) by Charlie Rich, and she is was/is beautiful resembled Elizabeth Taylor and a young pricilla presley

  • My name is Julie. My eyes are brown and I will never leave you.

  • I love the way she says 'drown-ding' as a magical way of adding depth to an emotion that many of us have felt. Can't stop the tears whenever I hear it.

  • I love her! The only thing better than listening to her sing was watching her and Waylon sing together, you could just feel the love they had for each other.

  • Such a sad song... I feel bad for anyone in this situation.

  • @TubaHero17 Nice of you to be able to have such compassion...

  • She's gorgeous!

  • love this song

  • Good

  • What a great song, by a great singer....

  • This was always a favorite. Didn't understand what it meant when i was 10 years old, just loved the beat and the beautiful voice. I agree, Waylon Jennings was lucky to have such a beautiful wife that stood by him through it all. She lost a good man.

  • My Mom used to play this all the time and my sister and I just loved it! Brings back many memories!

  • What you saying Waylon couldn't get a woman like that.

  • Comment removed

  • @BAMBOO021311 What are you talking about? They were married up until the day he died with here still right there by his side. That was a heck of a love story.

  • @BAMBOO021311 Heretic.Unbeliever.Follower of the false prophet.Infidel dog.

  • I have had a "thing" for Jessi Colter for nearly 40 years now....and watching this just reminded me why. Few women more beautiful on this earth!

  • She is beyond beautiful and her voice is awesome! Sad but great song

  • Those beautiful eyes are just hauntingly caressing my spirit every time I watch this.

  • Sad but beautiful. Great video.

  • Love this simple little song, very pretty. I find Jessee to be one of the most beautiful women I've seen on the face of the earth. Sexy by the numbers. Waylon was a very lucky man.

  • Now this is a Real Woman!!

    Enough said

as for Mick Jagger Wild Horses kicks ass

Wild Horses is the baddest bad ass song he ever sang

  • @tied2dye What does that have to do with this song??? Duh

  • This was my daughters favourite song in 1975/76. Her name was Julie and she just loved this song . What a beautiful person/voice.
