Henry, it was delightful to watch the whole process from start to finish. I suppose your viewers know that it takes years and years to paint with this level of "chi."
It was wonderful to hear how you analyzed where the seal should go and why. I enjoyed the five ink levels explanation, as well. A superb video. Thank you. Barbara
Wonderful composition. I can get the 1sst half of the chinese caracters..however the last parts i cannot decipher. Can you please show them ? Thank you Henri.
Lovely, as usual. I appreciate how you explained your choice of where to put the calligraphy (so as not to interfere with the flow of chi). I love the balance of empty and full space.
Excellent teaching and a gift to all of us interested in sumi-e.
@lindaag0 Thank you, Linda. I have tried to address your earlier questions on the grind ink in this video. As to your other question about rooster brush, it is suitable to draw chrysanthemum petals with certain flexibility of the feather but it might lack of the spring power to draw bamboo leaves as well as the bear hair does.
When you have a painting this large, that is going to be hung as in your living room, do you mount it with the silicone paper as you do for those that will be framed?
@MrHroark Hi, Mr. Hoark! THank you for all your comments, feedbacks and suggestions! Actually I have found a space to hang this kind of long scroll on a wall in a stairway when we lived in a 2-story appartment. Yes, I can mount it on silicone paper if it will be framed, but if it will be mounted on a hanging scroll I will leave the work to the professional mounting shops. They can be easily found in the China town of LA, NY, SF and other places. I know a good one in town who can help me do it.
You are so skilled! You make it look so easy. Thank you for all the great work you've shown us. I recently purchased the water piston brush set and I'm enjoying all my efforts to paint like you. Im always pleasantly surprised with the outcome, you're a good teacher. Happy painting!!! :^-
@M33IRA Thank you for your feedbacks! I am so glad that you enjoy the piston water brush and the happy outcome of your first hand approach to Chinese painting!

@dipchips The title is "虛心竹有朝天葉" (Humble Hearted Bamboo with Sky-pointing Leaves) which means bamboo is humble yet ambitious.
