  • Thats the Lincolnshire Poacher.

  • 0:56 they added a jingle. ah, the british :)

  • I still remember when we used to dance to this in the disco soviet era, good times

  • @JimmyCos Slightly fucked up xD

  • Someone already mentioned that this was the "Lincolnshire Poacher" numbers station, right?

  • 73346 probably means no messages if it is repeated like that..

  • It's "Seven Three Three Four Six" from the Beatles experimental era.

  • What model radio is that?

  • @Qp0wer By the looks of it its an ICOM TRANSCEIVER IC -706MK .. cant quite see the last two digits. But i have used one and they are very good.

  • its lincolnshire poacher

  • 73346, so what?

  • I've heard that song before!!!!

  • @ozzernator sounds a bit like 'a finger of fudge is just enough'

  • ORANGE!

  • You're lucky to have caught the Lincolnshire Poacher number station, it mysteriously dropped off of the air shortly after you got this recording (last transmssion was 29 June 2008).

Good recording, the clearest poacher I've heard.

  • This is probably the introduction to the starting message of the station. Often the intro includes a phrase that characterizes the message that follows, so 73346 could mean that a dummy message follows or that a message of great importance follows. The tune is probably to identify the station, since they usually operate over many frequencies.

Sorry if that's a bit of a buzz-kill, but that recording most likely isn't the actual message if there was even a message being broadcast at that time.

  • @Dalekrise The other thing I've seen is that these stations will transmit a number and keep transmitting the same number for days or months until it changes. These could be nulls, could be something, it's the nature of one-time pads.

  • @cairne13 this is not a ice cream truck it is a numbers station.

  • This station is the "Lincolnshire Poacher" numbers station. It is rumored to be maintained by Mi5 and is located at the RAF Akrotiri base in Cyrpus. Your lucky you got this recording as the station went inactive in June 2008. The broadcasts have been taken over be the sister station "Cherry Ripe"

  • You know, back in the day, one could watch a Youtube video about WWII and not hear something about CoD. You could also watch a video about numbers stations and not hear something about Black Ops. Will you gamers please go back to whacking off to the Sims and leave us who like real life history and world events in peace?

  • @nyc14gauge Speaking as a gamer, I'd kind of like it if you didn't insult all of us because of a few annoying people. I was interested in WWII history before I ever played any games about it, and believe it or not, not every person who plays games is a pervert or an idiot. Some people are annoying but it doesn't give you the right to generalize, especially with somthing like that dumb insult. And honestly, if you can't ignore some stupidity on the internet, you have a pretty sensitive filter.

  • @Ohmyani - And, so do YOU, my dear, or else you wouldn't have written out an essay to "tell someone else off" for the same imagined "crime." Ahem.

  • @FredericaBimble Some things annoy me, like people blatantly being offensive. How'd you like it if you said you liked jazz music and someone said you wanted to jump Ray Charles bones or something?

I'm a gamer, and that doesn't mean I wack off to the sims. I'd like that to be clear to him.

  • @Ohmyani

    I do

  • @shoplifting1is1fun ha, haha, ha.

  • @nyc14gauge Oh, I'm sorry. Is he ruining your day with his comment? Grow up please.

  • The epsilon-(gamma-glutamyl)lysine crosslink and the catalytic role of transglutaminases.

  • 73346 - Perhaps...it's the date of the apocalypse???

    7/3/346?

  • It's the Lincolnshire Poacher!

    ...MASON!

  • The numbers themselfs aren't so creepy, however that fucking tune afterwards gives me goosebumps.

  • @kefer123622 do you know the name of the song I think that is the code.

  • For the last time, WHERE IS THE NUMBERS STATION!?

  • @redgrouch Lincolnshire poacher is off the air as of 2009. It was based in Cyprus.

  • @kmikl Lol I know, I was just quoting Black Ops :3

  • @redgrouch I know :D

  • 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 ... shitttt, Get out of my head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @machiner6 The video is from 2008. The Lincolinshire Poacher went off the air in 2009.

  • I thought Lincolnshire Poacher went permanently off the air.

  • @machiner6 they did, this is just history

  • Say hello to the Lincolinshire Poacher, out of Cyprus.

  • why in he hell they have to put this childish song im asking to know

  • @blob450 it's an english folk song not a 'childish song' it's put in because they can. it's recognisable that this station is this station-

number stations are thought to be for spy use (they've not been confirmed directly but they are for spies using a one time pad - making sending messages impossible to crack)

  • @Rmg12 what is name of song

  • it is a MI6 numbers station. I looked up The Lincolnshire Poacher it is a british government radio.

  • @gtgt2010 yup it is, well it was. it no longer broadcasts

  • @blob450 The song is used as a signal to indicate the beginning and the end of the transmission. So if you are waiting for a message you start to write the numbers after the jingle.

  • My failure was palpable.

    My hands were bloody.

    My reputation was stained.

My friend died by my own hands.

    My mission was terminated.

  • THIS IS MAI JAM!

  • 7 3 3 4 6

  • If the cypher is 1-3-3-7, then the code is really 6-0-0-23-7.

    It means, FAAWG.

Who knows what FAAWG means; but come on, 1-3-3-7 would be an awesome cypher.

    No- it would be;

    *glasses*

    Leet.

  • @SirVladDracula YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH

  • It's the Linconshire Poacher (Named after the folk song of the same name, which is the little tune it keeps repeating in this video). It started broadcasting around 1988, if I remember correctly.

  • @spacehelmetforacow

    But who to?

    What does it say?

    What does it MEAN?

    Can I have a numbers station? ^^

  • @SirVladDracula No-one knows what they mean. most people think they''re probably a way of sending coided messages to secret agents abroad, but no-ones totally sure...

  • Whatever the case, they'd be the perfect way of contacting agents. Low-tech, reachable anywhere, impossible to crack, and all they need is a short-wave radio - something which, if owned, raises no suspicion at all.

My own personal guess would be that they're used with sleeper agents.

Receiving a constant, repetitive signal until the message changes; at which point its time to go to work.

That or its all a bluff so they can go about sending the REAL secret messages. x3

  • For some reason this is slightly disturbing

  • That is the Lincolnshire Poacher numbers station. It's believed to be operated out of Cyprus.

  • OK 73346 I GET IT JUST STFU!!!

  • We miss you, Lincolnshire Poacher!

  • Transmition, I love it

  • Thoroughly agree...

  • THE NUMBERS MASON! WHAT DO THEY MEAN?

    Sorry, I just had to.

  • @1NoneofYourBusiness1 Yeah so did everyone else T_T

  • @1NoneofYourBusiness1 I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ANY FUCKING NUMBERS !

  • @1NoneofYourBusiness1 lol i was going to post something about black ops :)

  • Its a hidden transmition that is used in activating sleeper cells, which are government spies who are subconsciously trained to assassinate or commit acts of terrorism. they are completely dormant until a certain word, or in this case a series of numbers, are spoken. Thats my theory!

  • @hveowdyd000 Sleeper cells hm, well that sounds intres....... MUST BLOW UP PRESIDENTAL OUTHOUSE

  • @howdyd000 theyre actually just encoded messages, you are right about the spies part but not right about the 'subconcious activation' thing. an agent needs to know when to be tuned in and to what frequency to receive the message, of course. look into 'one time pads', generally they are the means of decrypting such messages and due to their truly random nature during generation they are rendered mathematically unbreakable :) you may be very interested in 'The Conet Project'

  • @fintonomalley Some say that Call of Duty: Black Ops, was designed as an Anti-Government weapon to make aware the public to Numbers Station, and begin a world-wide attempt to decipher their messages, thus bringing the balance of power back to the people.

It may be almost IMPOSSIBLE to break, but; you know what they say about a room full of monkeys with typewriters.

  • @SirVladDracula - actually, it's what they say about roomful of monkeys with typewriters when given *an infinite amount of time*...

  • @dunebasher1971 If you could get those monkeys close to the speed of light, they WOULD have an infinite amount of time =O

  • It's the Lincolnshire Poacher

  • yeah definitely the Lincolnshire Poacher

  • It sounds like the Cherry Ripe Iridial station but the numbers are different and there's no distortion.

  • @FANGwoof in every broadcast on every station the numbers are different, they are portrayals of individual messages

  • Still a better way to get the lottery results than Jenni Falconer.

  • I think its funny how its illegal to listen to those stations in some countries.

  • @Corrup7edChaos

What Countries? For example? (I'm just curious...)

  • GCCDF

  • Comment removed

  • I shit a brick listening to this.

  • @timaaarrreee as far as anyone can tell, its got to do with the intelligence community...spies in other words.

  • Sounds more like a Number Beacon instead, if its continually repeating 73346, and the voice is automated same tone, but still its creepy as hell..

  • the song at the end is the best part!

  • I was wondering which teacher was randomly pumping out of order numbers through the station last month.

  • Seven three three four six.

  • (insert black ops quote here)

  • @Sp33d3v1l boring gun sound

  • Lincolnshire Poacher? "Poaching is the illegal taking of wild plants or animals contrary to local and international conservation and wildlife management laws. Violations of hunting laws and regulations are normally punishable by law and, collectively, such violations are known as poaching." WIKIPEDIA. Where do these station/frequencies come from? do they just sit there and repeat the numbers or do they make a tape loop? I guess we will never know. Some others repeat numbers for a long time.

  • whats the numbers again?

  • Lincolnshire Poacher

  • ok kids enough with the black ops jokes

    we get the message

  • What's the point of this station?

  • I KEEP HEARING THE FUCKING NUMBERS!!!

  • MASON THE NUMBERS?

  • A song by My Chemical Romance came up when this video was on, then I clicked back and the music carried on playing, and I shit myself.

Only to realise that the music was coming from another page, still though, scary times lol.

  • "Lincolnshire Poacher" - name of the station, and of the tune.

    Location: Cyprus.

  • SEVON FREH FREH FOO SIX

  • Lincolnshire Poacher station

  • Meh this on isn't THAT creepy

  • why is it that just hearing that voice is now making me scared?

its just a bunch of numbers.

but i get this creepy feeling that i am being watched now.

there is somthing in the shadows.

i can hear the numbers but the video ended 40 minutes ago

  • Numbers stations used to inspire this feelign of abject terror in me.

But now I've spent a lot of time on the subject and I've even tuned a few in myself, and it just doesn't have the same effect on me. I still find them utterly fascinating, but it doesn't scare me at all anymore.

    I miss that feeling...

  • @apopheniacMCMLXXXIX Oh my god that DESCRIBES MY LIFE. At first it scared the shit outta me, I loved it.

Doesn't really scare me as much, but still a little creepy.

(goes on iphone text to speech app)

    101 118 105 100 101 110 116 32 97 103 101 110 100 97

  • This isnt scary wtf is wrong with u people.

  • That "Funky tune" is actually the poacher signal.

  • What model is this? I'm been thinking of getting a receiver.

  • your listening to cherry ripe presumed an old british secret service number translater for spies all across the world i think

  • What's that radio?

    Assasinate world leaders?

    HELL, ALRIGHT.

  • @willfox12345 Thanks for the comment; I needed a good laugh to loosen up my nerves!

  • did anybody get the bonus ball?

  • 7-3-3-4-6! I mean.. good quality reception! Lincolnshire Poacher station, I think?

  • @dancraggs Correct!

  • @dancraggs it is, as each num station has its own identifing song.

  • Oh crap, I heard that on baby station pt2, If i listened to this song while I slept......well. <:P

  • @MosinNugget Incorrect. Quit embarrassing yourself.

  • @BasementBeginnings

lol no. Just gettin warmed up.

  • @MosinNugget Ridiculing your dumb ass while you're completely unaware of it is quite a delight. Keep talking. It's amusing, and it's something to do.

  • @BasementBeginnings

Lol he keeps responding. I guess thats what basement dwellers do best. Better get my backpack and head inna woods before internet toughguy has a small dick attack.

  • @MosinNugget but why u mad tho?

  • @BasementBeginnings

    I ain't even mad though,want a peanut butthurt and u jelly sandwich,bro?

  • @MosinNugget Evidently you are. Care to elaborate on how I'm being butthurt and jealous, if you can?

  • @BasementBeginnings

We're still doin this NEIN DU business,eh? Well

    no

  • @MosinNugget Well, can you at least direct me to the thing I said that impacted your sense of mentality so harshly, you felt compelled to retaliate in hopes of getting the last word on me?

  • @BasementBeginnings

Last word on the internet eh? Yes, nice choice of 'big' words there. Thanks for giving me something to do with my ronery neckbearded self, I hope I did the same.

  • @DanielChristy19 I think its something to do with having someone having a SW radio on and tuning and find tuning and looking for something. Its quite feasable that the messages change depending on circumstances, like dreams. But often you can find the same broadcast in predicable manner. Its perhaps a way to encode information visually so that it produces mental imagry.

  • @kanator Uh, no. This video was out 2 years ago.

  • A=1 B=2 C=3 D=4 E=5 F=6 G=7

    73346

    GCCDF

  • This is a numbers station called "The Lincolnshire Poacher".

  • Sounds like the same woman who announces the numbers for Lincolnshire Poacher.

  • These were first found around the Cold War. It's probably espionage related. They're also most likely still in use. It might be a 5 letter word, or a code for a situation. The song is also important, maybe the tone of the song means something as well.

  • @AmunRa1 A=1 B=2 C=3 D=4 E=5 F=6 G=7

    73346

    GCCDF

  • @TheRealBanjo2

Okay, can you actually tell me what GCCDF means? If not, that's OBVIOUSLY not the real message. It might not even be a five letter word.

  • @AmunRa1 Generic Control Center Development Facility :3 YW

  • That's a nice looking rig, I wonder if I can find one for myself. BTW, as HarvestmanMan said two weeks ago, thats the "Lincolnshire Poacher", old, famous station running out of Cypress by MI6. They shut it down only two months after this posting. Budget cuts prolly.

  • could you tell me the name of this radio?

  • @pspdude106 The name of the radio or the radio station?

  • 7 3 3 4 6

  • 73346

  • Where can I get a radio like that, and what is the cost?

  • That's "The Lincolnshire Poacher".

  • I missed the third number, what was it?

  • I bet Dr. Nash from A Beautiful Mind could decode these numbers...

  • @VoiceofReason06

it doesnt matter how smart you are, a one time pad is not decodable if you do not have the key

  • @r0llskyay0 Ah I see. I was just making an assumption with some comedic sarcasm thrown in. I really don't know anything about these numbers things, I just came across it and thought it was funny.

  • It's like chinese water torture without water and the chinese

  • @VoiceofReason06 Meh i would rather listen to this than have water drip on my head

  • @MrGhostbutter Haha agreed. But what about both at the same time???...

  • @VoiceofReason06 DEATH

  • 73346

  • That's lincolnshires music, isn't it?

  • 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 73346 7334673346 73346 7334673346 73346 7334673346 73346 7334673346 73346 7334673346 73346 7334673346 73346 7334673346 73346 7334673346 73346 73346

  • I Can't sleep anymore too

  • What is more creepy than a number station? The silence when you stop the video.

  • @ghos7bear OH FUCK YOU I CAN'T SLEEP NOW.

  • @ghos7bear true

  • @ghos7bear come on, this one is the only one NOT creey station

  • do what you want cause a pirate is free you are a pirate lol the tune sounds like that song!

  • 73346-GCCDF

  • what does 73346 mean?

  • @tubemaster2703 From my knoledge. These numbers are randomly generated and put out on a broadcast with a different frequency every time.

  • @MrGhostbutter Ah, I thought it was some sort of error code.

  • @MrGhostbutter They are used to predict future events the same way that the migration of electrons across a diode can be measured. Any ordinary radio can be made to recieve SW there is usually a diode you cut if that is enough read-between-the-lines for you.

  • 1337?...no..ur doing it wrong!

  • Russian Government: -trollface.jpg-

  • @MidoriFan10 :D

  • What kind of radio do you have?

  • I just wonder the goverment of big countries involved into this how they are laughing when they come to internet and see our conspiracy theory :D Imagine that they are doing that only for shit & giggles :P
