Absolutely love this video and the music I listen to every day. I once had a flight in a Macchi when I was a member of the RAAF and wish now I had captured it either on video or at least pictures...If only you could turn back the hands of time...
What a great video. Watched it loads! 34 year old with a Jim'll Fix it wish to go up in a tornado since young. Work near Leuchars and see them most days. Take it Civvies should keep dreaming or is there anyway!!. Heard they sometimes do auctions. Would pay a kings randsom!! All the best. Thanks again.
wicked vid i saw tornados flying at aittatoo o7 my kiddie loved that display at the end where 2 tornados came in low and droped pretend bombs and there was big explosions on the airfield,i like the noise of a tornado and the way it looks but that typhoon is something else,
As everyone esle has said, great vid, with a great soundtrack. Glad you enjoyed it, Ive got my name down on our list for a backseater before our 2 F3's are defunct at the end of this year. PLenty of spewing action going on there then, lol.
OMG u are so lucky! I wish i could get a flight in a tornado GR4. It would be the best day of my life!. How did u get a flight in one? if ur not in the RAF?
You do the Jolly tradition and service it yourself first hehe. Never trusted anybody else with mine lol. Gotta pick the see off team too. nae numpties allowed lol
Yeah, training is just a few weeks of marching around learning how to look after yourself and uniform - you learn about that in the Army Cadets, so it's going to help. After training, the real RAF is very different - just go with it.
just stay the grey man. makes life easier if you dont stand out to much. also be fairly profficient in the use of an iron and a sowing needle as basics pretty much a 9 week glorified housewife course but you do get to run around and play soldiers for 4 days
I Love this video so much and i love you even more babe xxxxxxxxxxx

The song is called Hoppípolla. Its by a band called Sigur Ros, who I think are scandinavian. It was the theme tune to the plannet earth series.
Tom11131 4 years ago
I think Sigur Ross are from Iceland aint they? Great music though!

You should come to lossie fella. My PAX was much lower through the highlands and islands. Less people to complain. Wish I'd filmed mine.

great vid mate - where did that flight take you? Some parts look like scotland, other parts the lake district.
Scotscan 4 years ago
Medium level to Blackpool, then low level north; over Windermere, then West Scotland and home for tea and medals.

Have you got anu tips when i start training and stuff
12487643 5 years ago
If you get into the cadets before joining, you'll find training easy. Thereafter, it's of little use. Also, learn to drink.

but dont tell the regiment youre an ex spacie or you'll never live it down! i learned the hard way :)

DO you get a choice of what aircraft you work on or are you told you have to work on certain aircraft
12487643 5 years ago
You can enter a preference, but at the moment that seems to be more a gesture than anything else, you go where you get sent
Tom11131 5 years ago
had an idea it would be once in a blue moon but still cant wait to the mechanic side of the RAF i cant wait till i join
12487643 5 years ago

12487643 5 years ago
Don't be fooled, you only get to do this sort of thing once in a blue moon.
Tom11131 5 years ago

12487643 5 years ago

Tom11131 5 years ago
