@Arachnidius Its because he uses DI boxes direct to PA mixer boards instead of that + mic'd amps which the rest of the band use so the overall signal is weaker and comes out lower then the others, apprently there is more to it than not just being able to raise the volume of his track :/ not sure why though

You've got Myung on bass who's one of the most talented bassists out there, and you've got Rudess who can blow your mind on keyboards with millions of sampled sounds, you've got Petrucci who is one of the most fastest and creative guitar players there is and last but no least, Portnoy with his odd time signatures and fills. What more can you ask in a band .. I mean COME ON !!

@PhoebusRose64 Those are the Normal Yamaha TRB 6 pickups from the 1000 series, possible from the TRB6II but i'm pretty surte they are the same as the 1006J pickups

If the you mean teh JM1 here as the gold ones, then those are the same pickups as the TRB6II (Yamaha), i just did a little research, though i think they are probably custom voiced? They say Yamaha on them either way in gold as you said,
