I agree there should be 18+ years limit on these kind of sports, but if you consider where this world is going I hardly find this shocking. UN mandates children should be thought about sex at 5 years old, pole dancing classes for 5 year girls etc etc. Perhaps it is good that I arrange these fights as sport where there is a referee. It also gives these guys excellent self defence skills. People who train martial laws tend to be those least likely to start a fight.

My father had me compete in child cage fights whenever he was hard up on his luck and this is nothing like I remember. This is what happens when child cage fighting gets too commercial

The kids got gloves on and can't even swing hard enough to do any real damage. Plus they got a bunch of adults on the side in case one does some how get hurt. No different then football (where you have more chance of being hurt from getting tackled.) The only sport I can think of where a kid couldn't get hurt is on the chess team...

This isn't a bad thing. My 6yo goes to Riverside Submission. We walked by 1 day & he wanted to play with the other kids. They let him come in & try it (I would never make him do anything he doesn't want to do). He really enjoys going to the classes. Cage fighting isn't my thing, but if my son likes to do it, I'm OK with that. The instructors teach these kids a lot more than moves. They have a lot of fun and get a lot of confidence. My worst fear is that he becomes a "Bro"... bcuz I'm a goth :)

Whenever i listen to people talk about their MMA such as muay thai and bjj it makes me wonder if their techniques are taught with the same motive as mine, self defense...i do kung fu and capoeira...What im really asking is how much different are other martial from the ones i take. kung fu is about making making peace. are other martial arts like that? anyone who takes an MMA please respond to this.
i'll tell you something though. Just cause you started out at a young age doesnt mean you're gonna be champ one day. Other fighters who start later in life lets say 25 or so might be able to beat you just cause its their destiny to be a fighter. Everyone is put here in this earth for a reason. These kids are good but they need to work on there muay they and before anyone says i cant do any better let me state that I am a BJJ Blue belt. I came 4th and 2nd in my wrestling city championships i Have done boxing for a year and a half. I am a 1 time muay thai provincal champion And 2 time Regional Champ. and I have compeated in 15 amuter MMA on an indian reserve called kanawake and in Brazil but that was for a tornament and by the way im 12 going on13 Dec.23
@robny91 I looked it up and talked to my muay thai trainer about it, there is definitely no belts in muay thai. The gyms that have it came up with it themselves. Muay thai fighters wears an "armband" around their bicep and a "head ring" when walking in to a fight but that is only to represent their trainer and gym.

HELL YEA!!!! keep at it man u'll get there!!! and if you want to be really good study jiu jitsu and judo...its fun as hell to learn and never dull as boxing can be!!! the reason i say this is because I boxed for 2 years and was pretty good, so when i joined the Navy started training MMA with my spec ops recruiter and i thought my stand up game would dominate..haha..I thought wrong he put me in the omoplata fast as hell..... thats when i really started training! get jiu jitsu down u'll dominate
