I went, I saw, I enjoyed the show but I have to ask. What was with all the random wondering about on stage? It wasn't just Marti but in that role he kind of stands out. It was really random :P I have to say though, I loved all of Hydes mischievious little tricks, but they hardly suit the character :P
I'd prefer Marti Pellow's version...to me Hydes in the US versions (inc Broadway) are fierce and energetic enough but not eerie and evil enough, but Pellow's Hyde really gives me the chills...
Hmm, I know previous versions of the show were panned for being too dark - but listening to recordings of earlier versions this was what made the show so wonderful, how dark and amazingly atmospheric the music was (check out the original Anthony Warlow version, outstanding)...so while I understanding why they have tried to make this tour less 'intense' by trying to put in comedy and make the music 'lighter' I think this looses the intensity that was intended - It SHOULD be dark and scary, no??!!
@22professional I have heared Anthony Warlow, yes he has an amazing voice but he never performed the role on stage. I do agree that this production's version of "Alive" is quite odd and less satisfying than others.
@Londonman84 The thing is that the leading ladies were great, it's just he was so awful I found myself wondering if he was having an asthma attack throughout (:^
@HarlemIXQuintin He might as well have rung a door bell and run away! It was a complete joke, like Mr Hyde was Dennis the Menace. This was the worst musical I have ever seen.
@Londonman84 Don't critisise the musical, it's an amazing score, but this version was very different, and not to everyone's taste. I welcomed some changes, but thought that others were pointless.

The Pitch Finder - this was just the beginning - he got more evil and sinister as it went on. Act 2 was murder after murder!
hetheringtond 9 months ago
@hetheringtond Lol yeah I know the show, but still even if this is the start of Hyde it just seems...well somewhat adolescent I guess.
ThePitchFinder 9 months ago
This seems more of a "Hi jinks joker" Hyde than a, oh I don''t know murdering psychopath that clubs people to death with a cane or sets them on fire
ThePitchFinder 9 months ago 3
@ThePitchFinder He didn't set them on fire in this version, he stabbed them to death.
scumblejack 9 months ago
@scumblejack I know but that wasn't my point. I'm just saying his character seems more of a reckless adolescent than a cold blooded killer.
