The computers in our school use Windows XP and usually havee Internet Explorer up in about 10 seconds. My pc does that with Firefox in 5 or less :) Probably because I use Charter maximum speed.

You should try and teach the kids redstone as one of their final projects or something, like make a 2bit minecraft calculator with redstone, and explain how to make it and how it works, that would be some advanced stuff from elementary schoolers.

Minecraft is a nice game and it's an interesting way of advance children in creative tasks, but don't you think the youth is sitting often enough at the computer? What's about the "classical" way of letting kids create things like arts or carpentry, are they also taught at your school beside this project? (please, don't misunderstand me, the idea in general is fine, just seems to be a little bit dangerous for a young childs mind)

@Xrystal93 Dangerous for their mind? No. But I do agree that there should be a balance between a variety of activities and they do, in fact, do a variety of things in school. This particular group only has 45 minutes on Fridays.
