Check out the Pulitzer Prize-winning Obameter on the PolitiFact site to see all the campaign promises he has kept. If you think in terms of past presidents and look at the other realistic alternatives, I think you'll realize just how lucky we are to have Obama. I'll be really surprised if we do better in our lifetimes.

CBS News: The latest posting by the Treasury Department on Tuesday Aug. 23, 2011, shows the national debt has now increased over $4 trillion on President Obama's watch.
The debt was $10.626 trillion on the day Mr. Obama took office. The latest calculation from Treasury shows the debt has now hit $14.639 trillion.
It's the most rapid increase in the debt under any U.S. president.
The Gross National Debt now stands at 97.6% of the nation's Gross Domestic Product.

Just in case you didn't know 43 percent of Americans did not pay taxes in this country because of their income i.e a family of 4 earning 26,000 would not pay taxes after using basic deductions. @MyNameIsHelios You can waste your mind all you want. You seem to believe I'm against legalizing it, I'm not. I'm simply pointing out that it is harmful to smoke or ingest marijuana in any form. It may not make you permanently stupid, but the amount of time you spend high is time better well spent on something productive. I don't need marijuana to "chill out", I prefer wine. How am I being hypocritical, I'm just telling you that marijuana destroys your lungs and it makes your mind mush...

@MyNameIsHelios Btw, if you ingest marijuana, you stay higher, longer, but it requires more pot. If you put it in brownies for instance, then ingest it, it will take about 30 minutes for you to get high, but by that time you've eaten quite a few brownies. Eat enough brownies, you will stay high for 6 or so hours...

So... @hopeurforfreedom are you for federal legalization? Also I'm well aware the current state of edibles. I just think that in the future when it is legalized in this country people will look at smoking it as a semi-archaic practice. Look...smoke does hurt your lungs - it's fact. But should the federal government continue the institution of marijuana prohibition. In my view - absolutely not. And he SHOULD have mentioned H.R. 2306...what a botched answer...just completely dismissive.

Alright - let's keep the debate at an intelligent level. @hopeurforfreedom marijuana does not have to be smoked to feel the effects. In fact I think the future of administering the drug will be through edibles. And if you are for freedom then you should be on the side of legalization. Regardless of whether you want to use it or not you should have the right to. And Obama not backing or even mentioning H.R. 2306 is...inexcusable. Leave the decision to the states by passing HR2306! EASY OUT!

When are these politicians going to wake up? Obama continues to marginalize millions of voters with these 'answers' about a serious issue. Here in California, during the last election, Medical Marijuana played a very large role in defeating a very anti-cannabis DA running for attorney general. People vote on this issue , get your head out of your ass and offer some answers instead of 'uh uh uh.... lets leave it at that'.
