Does the sigma 50-500mm have image stabilization? i got a sont 70-300 telephoto lens, and i shoot motorsport. its blurry and i cant find a image stabilization feature anywhere, help?
I bought me a Sony 70-400 G SSM lens together with a Minolta AF 2x APO II konverter (which is better than the Sony 2x konverter) for my Sony Alpha a55. With that camera, which has a 1.5x crop factor you get an 600mm tele zoom lens and with the 2x konverter you get a huge 1200mm tele lens. I need it for moon, animal and nature fotography. The pictures are glass clear by 100% in sharpness...realy awesome!
The Sony 70-400 G SSM is a great lens...maybe the best Sony lens on the market at this time.
I have a sony a330 and i really like the lens at 0:50 to 1:24 but i am not the best english man :-/ so can you please say what the name of the lens are? :D
isn't it so nice to shoot on something special. so gorgious. but (sigh) expensive to buy specially like me as a learner. I wish I could buy these things too.
im a newbie i bought a sony a330 are those lenses compatible with my camera and what does the hood do for the picture quality? thank you! hoping for ur reply! i just subscribed :)
They work just fine with the a330. The hood helps prevent flare from lights on the edge of the picture and keeps the contrast high. Without a hood some pictures look washed out.
One more Konica Minolta lens for Sony to rebadge is the 600mm f/4. That's some serious glass. Nonetheless, the 300mm f/2.8 with 2x converter would do 600mm with f/5.6. Such a combination would be great for wildlife photo. I also think that the 70-200mm with 2x extender is a much more cost effective and more portable option than getting the 70-200 and 70-400. A good part about an f/2.8 lenses is that you can use the telephoto extenders 1.4x and 2x without any issues.
I shot some pictures with both the 70-400 and 300 f/2.8, loved the latter, can't say the same about the first. It's a good lens, but I prefer my own 70-200, even though that's significantly shorter...
great review but i think that sony does really like to copy canon styles with the white lens and little red ring on the hood and not the lens, get orignal Sony,
I think its too difficult for them to compete against Canon.

How much is the Sgma 50- 500?

what is a good lense for a starter like me? aside from the 18-55mm that comes with my a330? thanks!

The Sony 55-200 or the 75-300 will be good for you. Or the Minolta 70-210. Cheap long lenses.
skmalladi 2 years ago
Minolta 70-210 F4 would be perfect the old version not the new one,

will the "bigma" warp of harm the mont on the camera if your gand holding it
ellsworthra 2 years ago
Not if you support the lens with one hand - but if you 'hang' the lens down from your camera strap all day it certainly could.

I was really hoping this video would compare these lenses with the Sony 70-200mm f/2.8.

Did the Sigma stripped?

good job, thx 4 sharing

It's a not fair comparison though. Sigma also has a 300mm f/2.8 which costs half of the Sony/Minolta equivalent. I am sure it's a very good lens.

wtf are you talking about the color masami?
The two white lenses (70-200 + 300) been Minolta designs from 2006 and 2003.
Sony did not change them only in minor elements.
The silver one (70-400) is a new Sony design.
And even if you think this is a copy of Canon in any way, it is not...

There seems to be some audio/video sync issues with this video. Good info nonetheless.
