one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. i worked at the trail riding place up glenrosa and had to ride our horses down the mountain that day. had to ride right through the fire where it had just jumped the highway. some of it was till burning as i rode my horses through. worse day ever!

i lived in glenrosa at the time of this... i remember being in vancouver with my dad visiting my aunt when we heard about this... my grandparents (who live in peachland) called my aunt to make sure me, my dad & our dog were down in vancouver and not in westbank... such a scary thought! to know that the fire was that close to our house! if it had gone further into glenrosa only 20 more minutes, our house would be gone...

I remember this day like it was yesterday. I was outside and I smelt smoke, I didnt think much of it because I thought it was from elsewhere. Then I heard every fire truck in town going somewhere and I thought it was a massive structure fire or something. I went on castanet and saw this massive headline "Forest Fire Jeopardizes Glenrosa" I remember thinking OMG.

While I agree that you overused the OMG phrase by a factor of 100, I also understand that when you see a huge force of Nature up close and in person, it blows your mind. So don't let folks get you down for repeatedly saying OMG. It happens to a LOT of people. Watch amateur clips of people filming tornadoes. You get the same result. lol

Hello i was just wondering what the last name of this albert guy you were talking about in the vid was. i have an uncle named albert who lives in glenrosa and was evacuated. he tried to make it to his house to get some valubles and last i heard his house was about 3-5 blocks from the fire front...

Oh you might like to know I put out a small fire close to the mill friday night and we had people watching it all night...then this starts above the mill next day.We were all talking about the bush being so volatile and made comments about all of the westside burning up if the conditions kept up...little did we know?

I feel 4 you. My friends r in the same situation. They were right in where that fre is and they don't have any info about whether they still have a home or not. They went to her mom's house and even then they r right in rose valley and r getting close 2 being evacuated again.

I see the fire from city park!!! now is 10 000 people evacude and is another one in bear 2 big fire in kelowna!!!! I was in the 2003 fire!! and i need to go from home !!! i feel to crye!! is very bad now!!!!! at 2 in the mornig !! they dont not control the fire!!! my kids are in pecticton and is not hotels they cane come back to kelowana!!! the arein the streat !!! i one to go !! for them and the hy is close!!!!
