  • Há tempos procurava por essa preciosidade. Belíssima.

  • @mavosa59 Muchas gracias y saludos desde Malta.

  • @rostovron Thank you very much.

  • fantastic video.

  • @rostovron Thanks.

  • @JamesTSinclair Mozart is great and Waldo de los Rios truly enhanced this music. Thanks and regards from Malta.

  • Not a fan of "classical" music, so why have I listened to this six times today? Amazing recording!

  • @sarahfromnatick You did because Waldo de los Rios added the magic touch to a beautiful classic composition. He has helped to promote classic music with people like you who didn't like classics and made them more "listenable". Please search youtube for "malpen04 waldo de los rios" to listen to some more of his wonderful arrangements. Regards from Malta.

  • Hay música que te emociona y música que no. Esta me pone el vello de punta, gracias Waldo

  • @Santanderin0 Muchas gracias y saludos de Malta.

  • This song was 40 years ago no.9 in the world charts #waldo #de #los #rios

  • @LittleSweety It deserved to be - very beautiful. Thanks and regards from Malta.

  • I thought so,but when you get to my age you tend to not remember things as they were.

  • @frankns .... and when you get my age, you don't even remember that certain things ever existed :))

  • Un genio sumado a otro da este resultado.

  • @Santanderin0 True, Waldo knew which musical selection to choose to put his own interpretations to and he did a fantastic job. Muchas gracias amigo.

  • Dear mychoicealfred4,

Wow, you are on the ball. I have a number of long playing records of his which still give me much pleasure after all these years. Unfortunately I am not conversant with how you post music on youtube but can inform you the version to which I refer is on his album SYMPHONIES FOR SWINGERS2 - WALDO DE LOS RIOS, side 2, track 4. There are other amazing arrangements on this L.P. The graphics on the cover of the jacket is not shown in any illustrations that I seen on this site.

  • @sheriff2157 Hi Sheriff, I don't have the album you mentioned. In fact I used to have some 45's of Waldo's music. We also have some other music of Waldo on our channels. you can search youtube for "waldo malpen04". Thanks for your comment.

  • Cont'd from below; The graphics on the cover are of miniature instruments, grand piano, brass & cello surrounded with framed illustrations of the respective renowned composers. On the reverse of the jacket is a wonderful photo of the maestro, (Waldo), holding these little instruments in the palm of his hands. I hope that this is of assistance. Mike (alias; sheriff2157)

  • I love his arrangements of the classics but I wonder why no one has posted Tchaikosky's Symphony No 6 in B minor opus 74 "Pathetique" 1st movement, this of all, Waldo De Los Rios recordings, was my favourite.

  • @sheriff2157 Dear Sherif, I'd be more than happy to include the beautifu Pathetique as played by Waldo but I could not find it. Anything Waldo played was very nicely performed. If you happen to have a link to it, please send it to me in a message. Thanks and regards.

  • Thanks forr alerting me to this arrangement Alfred. It is truly magnificent and the visuals are as well.

  • @ShirleyJean1000 You're wecome Shirley. I consider this as the best interpretation of Waldo de los Rios

  • A mi parecer el mejor video de you tube por la musica y las imagenes. Gracias.

The better video about you tube because beautiful image y perfec music. Thank you.

  • @SINDUCAS Muchas gracias. This is one of the best by Waldo de los Rios. We have some other music by this great Maestro on our channels.

  • Love it! Beautiful Video. Any of those castles in Scotland or Ireland??

  • @MultiGeraghty Most likely there are some in Scotland and Ireland - I mixed them up - thanks for your kind comment.

  • @mychoicealfred5 Thanks for quick answer... Yes, I think I recognized a few Irish ones. Greetings from Ireland, and again congrats on really lovely collage!

  • YO!!! This guy is amazing. I hav 2 no who this guy is and mozart is a BEAST!! :D

  • @anthemdude Waldo de los Rios was an Argentinian musician. I put info about him in the description accompanying the video. Thanks and glad you liked it.

  • @Ita2009ful Waldo de los Rios was a blessing to many. He pleassed those who already loved classic music and attracted "foreigners" to classic music to enjoy it also. We have some more of his music in our channels.

    Gracias y salutdos de Malta.

  • Hi thanky you for your information I am truly very happy for to able to listen this composition when I want. If you Know the name of others compositons, please let me know.Once again tanky you so much.

    Obrigado from Portugal

  • @MsElsinha If you search youtube for "malpen04 waldo de los rios" you'll find some more that I put on youtube. While you're at it, also search for "portugal malpen04" and you may find other selections you may like.

    Obrigado and regards from Malta.

  • @MsElsinha Muchas gracias Elsinha. Waldo de los Rios "introduced" the classic music to the modern generation. He was a fantastic maestro and his arrangements are all very well done and beautiful. I find this as his best but he had other arrangements that are truly great.

    Saludos de Malta.

  • This got very high in the UK charts in 1972 I think. Wonderful record.

  • @lewisner This was a hit when it came out and put Waldo de los Rios on the top as a musician. Thanks and glad you enjoyed it.

  • @mychoicealfred5 The other big orchestral hit at the the time was "Eye Level" from the Simon Park Orchestra.

  • @lewisner Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I will upload it in a day or two on this channel, mychoicealfred5. Please visit our channels. We have over 1000 beautiful selections from classics to pop to folk.

    Warm regards from Malta.

  • can anyone tell me the title of the 'b' side to this record?

  • @lintym On the 45, it was "Song of Joy" by Beethoven. Actually, "Song of Joy" was the A side and Mozart's 40th the B side (at least it was on my Daffodil pressing)

  • This is simply beautiful, and what a fantastic arrangement, I remember in the 70's when this was in the charts, thanks for posting

  • @zeta2008 Muchas gracias Zeta. I agree, Waldo de los Rios started this trend of "modernizing" the style of playing of classical music. He was an excellent musician and added lots of "flavor" to his musical interpretations.

The musical world owes him a lot.

    Saludos de Malta.

  • ces't magnificent!!! grandiosa!!!! bellissima!!!!

  • @TINRICKY Merci boucoup e grazie.

  • This is the record that turned me on to classical music when I was a teenager and I still can't say enough good things about it - I'm 56 now

  • @rogerstill71 - I was already fond of classic music when I heard it the first time but it gave me a new "perspective" of classics. Waldo offered it on a plate for non classic lovers and I'm sure he attracted many with his rendition.

    May he rest in peace.

  • @rogerstill71 coll roger it was me too this musik that did to me i liked to classical i 50 yrs it was this very musik made me like

  • @rogerstill71 I had the same experience, this record turned me on to classical music to, when I was only a teenager and I still can't say enough about it and I'm also 56 now.

  • @rogerstill71 You've only got 2 years on me! This is bossa nova Mozart! I can't believe it! I've made over 600 playlists that include 400 of the best artists on eart & just had to start a new one for de los Rios. Come check it out. chuck

  • @rogerstill71 I have just found this song.I remember it when I was a teenager (I'm 56 this year)I couldn't remember the artist. It brings back memories of where I was at times when it was being played on the radio.I'm sure it got into the pop charts and was played on TOTP's.It didn't get me into classical music though.

  • @frankns It did, yes, big number 4 in the UK April 1971

  • The best symphony ever composed...Somhow it expresses the flew of live-melancholic and excited.

Waldos added the rhythm and exposed the feel of this masterpiece-

I like it even more than the original

  • @Deltamaster1965 - I agree that it's better than the original. Waldo did a magnificent job on this. Thanks for your kind comment.

    Regards from Malta

  • talento argentino que se exporto al mundo...

  • @carocero And a great talent. Waldo was a great musician. Gracias.

  • This arrangement back in the 70's got me to fall in love with Mozart music. It is simply awesome.

  • @akaRay44 - Many ended up listening to classic music because of Waldo's "modernization" of some old popular selections. If you search malpen04 waldo de los rios on Youtube you'll find some more of his beautiful interpretations.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • Great compilation and superb music . I remember listening with my parents to Waldos arrangements in the early seventies when I was just a young child

  • @cyrusedibam Thankyou very much Cyrus. This song is a masterpiece of Waldo de los Rios. Glad you enjoyed it. Regards from Malta

  • This is enjoyable, but there seems to be something of a disconnect between the orchestra and the (salsa?) band. Is this a mix, with the band laid on over an orchestral recording. Also, so that I dont embarrass myself in the future, what style is this, if not salsa? Thanks.

  • @CountBezukhov - This is a classic music by Mozart and Waldo de los Rios put a beat to it and made it more enjoyable for people who are not too keen on classical music. There is no mix - Waldo had his own orchestra and played several classic selections and gave them a beat.

    He was a great maestro.

  • @Reavelt

Your Mother is right. Only problem is that if I have to start indicating what the structures or cities are, it would take me much more time to finish the videos nd that will slow down the "production"

Believe me, it's not easy to find all those photos and it would double the work if we have to identify them. Besides, we're more interested in sharing music. Mom is right though and please say thanks to her.

  • Thank you for responding....I see your point!!...Your videos have given me hours of enjoyment!!

  • Wow, this music is easy to listen to and leaves a smile on your face. Great

  • Yes it does Reejr. We put other music by Waldo on this channel.

    Thanks for your comments.

  • In Italy it would be difficult to propose this arrangement ....

because here many classical environments are resistant to certain classical music contaminations ...

But one day I'd do the same!

    Great los Rios!

  • The thing is that such arrangements invite the young generation to listen to Mozart's music. They would not bother to listen to it unless it's "modernized" a bit.

I love classics and I felt that Waldo de los Rios gave us a slightly different and "happier" Symphony number 40.

  • I meant also Waldo de los Rios who unfortunately has passed away.

  • It's my first time to listen to Waldo, and I find it amazing... Besides, I'm from Argentina, so it's a pleasure to find people who look up to our musicians... As well, my apologies for the bad English, I'm still working on it... Greetings from Argentina!!!

  • I too found him amaizing the first time I heard his music and kept listening to him. We put more of his arrangements on our channel.

Your English is very good - don't worry.

The Malaysian Ambassador in Argentina is a friend of ours. My wife Jasmine is a Malaysian. Try to view her videos on jasalf5959.

    Greetings to you from Malta.

  • Es mucho mas mejor de mi español. South America has some amazing musicians that dont get a lot of exposure in the states. I like the original of this, but that doesnt lessen my enjoyment of this whimsical version.

BTW, I came within minutes, literally, of marrying a girl from Argentina. She was Catholic, and I can only assume her saints were watching out for her.

  • This music is simply awesome! Thanks very much and keep up the good work!

  • Thanks Goodsport. Please do explore our channel - we have a huge selection of music and songs to please everyone.

    Warm regards from Malta.

  • True in fact many compositions of composers who died over a hundred years ago are still being playing today.

  • Power Pictures were beautiful.....I love this classical piece too I have heard it so many times. Bravo you had better start selling your stuff to get back some of the cash you spent on your records and photos. 100%

  • About 20,000 views in a week thanks to Rush Limbaugh

  • Number of views has QUINTUPLED (!!)since last Wednesday when everyone was coming here to check it out. I haven't ordered the cd yet. Saw a few on Amazon that were VERRRY inexpensive and wondered how long they'd STAY that way -- haven't checked to see if they've changed.

  • Yes, views have by now quintupled - is there sucha word? :))

At time people wait to be "told" that a specific melody is beautiful. We like to search and explore and if you go through our channel you'll discover many beautiful songs and selections.

  • nice!!

  • Limbaugh 2012!

  • Yes! The Rush Limbaugh/Sarah Palin ticket works for me!!!!

  • LOVE YOU RUSH

  • Rush is always 10 steps ahead of everyone else and always right on the money.... beautiful piece of music... how one man is so right about everything is so amazing to me.

  • He's a conservative. That explains it all...

  • Rush rocks!! When I heard this, my spirits were lifted, having a down day so to speak. Thanks again Rush- YOU DA MAN!!

  • The 1st time I heard this was watching the Dittocam Thursday, all I can say is this music is inspiringing and beautiful. Rush is the # 1 source of good information. Mega Dittos.

  • Thank you... Abu Rush Al Rasheed

    Mega Dittos ((-:))

  • MEGA DITTOS!!!! :)

  • Thanks Rush, this terrific arrangement goes nicely with a Fuente Hemingway.

  • Check out Apollo 100's "Exercise in A Minor", "Reach for the sky" and "Mendelssohn's 4th"

  • great rendition of this piece!

  • WHOA -- the number of views has almost TRIPLED from yesterday, when, I believe it was close to the other video with the waterfall picture -- both this and that video were just under 5,100 between 7 and 8 pm eastern time. This song really has grabbed a lot of people's attention!

Rush did mention early in his show today that Waldo's song went to #1 on Amazon. Pretty cool.

  • I liked it, although classical isn't really my thing.

  • I don't get it so why is it Mozart, but it says Waldo De Los Rios. ????? sorry for the dumbness.

  • It is a Mozart song arranged by De Los Rios.

  • Thanks :)

  • Gary Cornelius explained it clearly.

The music is Symphony No 40 by Mozart but Waldo de los Rios gave it his own interpretation and put a bit of "liveliness" to it.

It happens all the time. Many Maestri create their own arrangements of various classic music. Waldo de los Rios happens to be one of the best to do such work.

    No dumbness - it's a genuine question.

  • Thanks :) it's beautiful indeed.

  • You're very welcome. Please do visit our channel. There are many songs that you may like - anything from Classics to Pop and more.

    Warm regards from Malta,

    Alfred

  • @malpen04 - He put a kind of pop arrangement to it- really lifted it up!!

  • Yes he did. We now have Andre' Rieu who is doing the same. Both are brilliant.

Thanks for your comment and please look for more of Waldo's music and others in our channel.

  • I wonder how many libs are pissed off by rush hyping this.

  • That thought crossed my mind too ; )

  • Thank you, Rush, for introducing me to this great musician!...Nobody can say you have no class!

  • enhancing wish i was there

  • What a wonderful lift after a spring afternoon patio Lunch in Austin, Texas!! Thanks Rush!

  • Mozart is an Argentinian??

    Wow. Learn something every day.

Wonder what the foreclosure rate is on the typical homes shown in the video.

  • Waldo de los Rios was an Argentinian and not Mozart.

Re Castles shown, just send a deposit and they'll reserve them for you :))

  • El Rushbo rules!

  • Thank you Ma Ha Rushie for enlightening us.......

  • Anyone who listens to Rush and thinks he has no class, I submit this song and say you are mistaken - thanks to Rush and the EIB for bringing us so many wonderful songs from the past, like this one, and "Happy Feet" by Paolo Conte!

  • Thanks, Rush!!!!!!! Great music.

  • Ditto!

  • Thanks Rush LImbaugh for reguiding us back to Waldo.
