  • I remember this lol

  • this used too scare the crap out off me wtf but i bet it would scare the crap out of my kids lol

  • @raver171181 go for it lol

  • Dorff is born in 73 and this is movie from 1987, he was 14 then. why the fuck he looks like he is 7 or 8 years old. i guess some kind of growth dissorder. anyway great movie!

  • needs more Busey!

  • This movie gave me nightmares for a week when i was six lol

  • The only thing I remember about this movie is his dad saying, "You've been bad!"

  • 1:16 is actually a giant special effects set.

  • It seem this movie does have a cult following but..

I never tough it would retain enough attention so a 3D remake would be in talking process... it's not like it was a important film anyway...

But oh well, i say that and this movie is a huge part of my childhood lol !

  • I remember watching this back in the day, smoking dope and my iroc-z parked in my driveway, they were the days.

  • i love that movie.

  • This movie scared the living heck out of me

  • demons, what kind?..FUCKING EVIL DEMONS...dumb bitch

  • Cute Demons! Where can I buy one?

  • I can't beleive I watched this as a 5 year old kid!!!...jesus christ

  • Jesus christ this scared me to death when I was a kid.

  • @scottkrys i know that feel bro =S

  • Hahahaha! I must've been 6 or 7 when this movie came out. It was a great movie... then. I probably should get it just for the nostalgia.

  • YES. It looked good and I wanted to watch it anyways, but now I know it's the source of an animated gif that I loved.

  • one of most rented films of my 80's childhood

  • A very young Stephen Dorff ha ha.

  • I was 4 years old and this movie scared the SHIT out of me. I NEVER made it through this movie.

  • I forgot how we dressed in brighter colors back then.

  • This makes me feel old

  • Even though it was obvious this was more for kids, it wasn't afraid of being genuinely scary. This was back when it was okay for a kid to be scared. Where we had faith they weren't going to grow up traumatized over a freaking movie. Sure this scared the crap out of me. Sure I was terrified and had a few nightmares, but nothing that comes from my soul will traumatize me. I got to FEEL thanks to a movie... now with today's movies, there's nothing to FEEL anymore...

  • It was corny, but it reminds me of my youth. Love it!

  • lol this movie is comedy xD

  • This was a favorite of mine as a child. I recently purchased it and rewatched it and... IT'S STILL GREAT! I have a different appreciation for it now. The special effects are amazing. Both practical & claymation/stop-motion. The pace/plotting is great but it fizzles out a bit at the end when it gets a little to "big" for itself. Overall though, a forgotten gem.

  • This was one of my favourite movies as a kid... haven't seen it since the 90s

  • just came across this movie on tv, i gues i'll continue watching cause it's facinating lol.

  • @frostyh81 same here on IFC, I miss these old school special effects

  • @LimeWireCommunist yeah! haha i actually ended up not being able to watch all of it, but i'll find it online!

  • I like the special effects.

  • 'They have opened the gate...pray it's not too late'

so fuckin epic how creepy this whole film is. An unknown masterpiece

  • The little demons are awesome XD

  • This looks so familiar...I think I saw this movie a veeerrry looong time ago and it scared the shit out of me!

  • the kid with the glasses freaked me out when i was younger....

  • Where can i find this movie???

  • it shouldn't be, but this film is definitely a childhood memory. couldnt sleep properly for days!!!!!

  • see why cant movies now a days be scary like this was in its time. this is from 1987 and it still creepy. none of the movies today give the same feeling

  • @MetalxLordz I completely agree...I honestly think screenwriters just dont try as hard anymore. Simple as that

  • "You've been baaaaaaaad!"

Man, that scared the shit out of me

  • I remember seeing this with my uncle, it was cool!

  • they should do a remake, no excuse why they couldn't

  • that you've been bad line played a few times, i like the scene where the phone melts

  • i saw this at the drive in. wish i appreciated it or saw it all. i think it scared me

  • I remember seeing this trailer before watching Predator in a theater. I was 11.

  • This is one movie I wouldnt mind seeing remade.

  • This movie is proof that stop motion is terrifying and creepy.

  • "You've been BAD!!"

  • Ever since i saw this movie id sleep with a rope and a bat. I'd dangle the rope under my bedding hoping a hand grabbed it so i could beat it with my bat. I still sleep with the bat...

  • This movie freaked me out as a kid!! I remember the final monster looking pretty cool though

  • 1:01 "Demons? What kind?" - Does it matter bitch?!?

  • Great movie im glad i grew up in 80s and got to watch these horrors on VHS

  • This movie still haunts my dreams

  • God only knows how i got to watch all these fil;ms as a kid

  • LOL love this movie

  • i remeber this movie finally found it after so long. watched it a dozen times when i was a kid. didnt wnt to know what was underneath the house. i always checked for holes

  • Those effects look pretty decent!

  • Just watched again, after more than 20 years, still rocks.

  • oh! with bill gates! ^^

ITS ABOUT DEVELOPING WINDOWS!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ;)

  • Great production design! Some of those optical effects still come off looking pretty good. I feel that in many cases, you can invoke a much better reaction from the actors when the crazy supernatural thing happening is actually a prop or device on the set with them rather than some CG graphics that aren't really there. There was obviously no choice in the 80s but I wish they'd still invest in actual optical effects these days a lot more than relying solely on CGI.

  • This movie is definitely a cult classic!

  • fuck this movie

i think is the scariest movie i ever saw when i was about 6-7 years old

seriously now i am 14 and i was looking for that movie about 1 year and now i dont wanna watch it

  • @cheapcape aha well done big boy!!! you call me, a 14-year-old girl "pussy" cause i think is a scary movie!

really bravo you are a 36 year old genius!

  • My childhood right here...

  • lol the only reason I'm watching this is coz Ray Toro said it was a good movie in an interview and I gotta agree with him it does look really good =D

  • @MegerHexer it's awesome because it's so weird!

  • stop at 1:11 :D

  • little jimmy jimmy oh got em

    I.C.P

  • I haven't seen this since i was 9 yrs old!

  • they used to play this on tv a lot back in the early-mid 90s

  • Stop motion is much cooler than CGI.

  • @AliceValium yup!!

  • scared the crap out of me as a kid lol

  • good movie.

  • Deamons!? What kind?

  • "YOUUU BEEN BAAAAD!!!" ROFL

    is it on netflix? O_O

  • the gate for me not open real!!

  • No Stephen Dorff you are the demons

  • wow

  • saw this when i was a kid...funny as hell to me

  • Underrated classic. Scared the crap outta me as a kid.

  • My grandmother had a whole in her yard when I was younger, and I always thought that was the gate to hell.

  • looking for this movie i coincidently found it by looking at other 80's flicks lmfao.

  • Talk about a trailer that grabs you.

  • Kiddie?! This was an 18 cert in the UK, that's like NC-17 in the USA, I don't think it's intended for children, though yeah sure I watched 18s way before I was 18. Just saying.

  • @ webnothing I still do that! Ugh I watch tons of movies like this and I don't really care until I have to go to sleep :(

  • "They have opened the gate, pray its not too late !!!!"

cheesiest shit Ive ever heard ... lololololol

  • LMAO @ 1:10 threw 1:12

  • This movie was the reason I was scared to look under the bed or even go near my bed. I would take a run off and fly through the air and land on my bed because I didn't want arms from under the bed grabbing my legs. I was 6 years old. lol

  • @webnothing I do this even today. I'm 18 year old.

  • @webnothing

lol i always checked the stairs for demons looking down :P

  • @webnothing i was the same way too..lol

  • @webnothing You weren't the only one...

  • @webnothing haha same here

  • @webnothing lmao!!

  • god dammit why did it have to be demons?

  • I LOVE this movie. Someone should remake it. I think it could be great with the special effects nowadays! Thumbs up for a remake!

  • i saw this movie like a decade ago...never rememberd the name although,Never forgot about it....till now i decided to look for...i Googled and googled for like an hour...Finally found it..Finally...

  • Tralalogs

  • I loved it when they played their records backwards

  • They got Millhouse!

  • looks good

  • I remember is that guy hitting the ground (1:15) and all those little guys running in the trailer as a kid. The 80's had some good horror movies based on great stories and special effects.

  • Showing this movie to my gf right now. We went to see insidious and I decided to show her a REAL horror movie. the scene where the nerdy metal kid dances w/ his mom and realizes it's a dog still gives me goosebumps. that is seriously messed up. and I love it.

  • @joeyavankuiken Yeah Terry was a trip in this movie. "before the earth, before the sun..." ha!

  • This movie was freakin' terrible!! Not to say I didn't enjoy watching it though. Was a blast laughing at this movie.

  • Damn! by 1987 standards this is pretty scarry stuff

  • I always wanted 1 of those rocket sets but the price of those toys were out of my league as a kid.. closest I got to a real launch was always bottle rocket fireworks lol

  • Good old time...awesome bye the way

  • @thegotcode This is a young Stephen Dorff movie.

  • @Sweetmervs Oh yeah that him....holy shit, i didn't see that coming !

  • mother of god it looks really good

  • I used to watch this when I was like 5. What the hell was wrong with me? It scared the living crap out of me every time too!

  • What I miss best and most about 80's Horror was the fact that it was all about atmosphere and suspense and not relying so much on cheap gimmicks like cgi fx and cardboard stars of today.

  • @jhangirk Exactly.

  • My favourite Canadian horror movie!

  • what rating is this

  • @rct3crazy100 pg 13

  • ah ok, I remember this shit

  • Great Movie!! I watched this a couple of days ago, it was alot scarier than I thought it was going to be

  • fuuuuuuuck!!!! i know what me and my friends are watching during the sleepover!

  • Man this movie made an impression on 7 year old me LMAO

I need to find this to watch again :)

  • 0:48

  • 0.48

  • Another great horror movie from the 80s! Yay for the 80s!

  • @AngelAbove00 more like comedy

  • it looks like a really good movie for somthing that came out in the late 80s

  • Its got Deacon Frost as a kid in the 80s! lol.

  • @dmace81 Yup, he was also in FELON.

  • I was full grown when I first saw this, and I thought, "Man this is going to mess some kids heads up good!". I knew it was seen as a teenybopper flick like Goonies, so lots of kids would be blindsided by the very weird shit going on.

Judging by the comments, I was right!

    Gate II wasn't bad either.

  • omg! they should make a new version! that would be AMAZING!!

  • @two1three5 Well, they released it on special edition. And they're making a remake.

  • YOUVE BEEN BAD!!!!!! ha ha classic.

  • @CULOSSABROSOS - The movie you are thinking of was Invaders from Mars (the 80s remake). It scarred the poop out me as well.

  • @michaelfinday I think your are correct. I got this mixed up with Strange Invaders I think because they both have Louise Fletcher in them.

  • I remember this. Scared the crap out of me when i was younger. Would love to watch it again though as i thought the story was pretty good.

  • looks good

  • OMG could someone help me remember the name of this movie where a spaceship lands on a farm or huge yard and theres this boy whos in elementary school people in this one scene have like bar codes on the back of their necks. the monsters look like balls or puffballs. i cant remember!

  • @CULOSSABROSOS Not 100% sure but I think you may be talking about Critters.

  • @CULOSSABROSOS you might be thinking of Strange Invaders (1983), starring Paul Le Mat and Nancy Allen

  • this movie gave me SO many nightmares growing up

  • @mattrichanderson for me the thing that still scares me from this movie is The Workerman. Can't watch those scenes at all.

  • Had nightmares about this film as a kid.

  • I always thought this movie was scary when I was little..

  • lolwut

  • Why is biff Tanen narrating the story?

  • Stephen Dorff's best movie!

  • @Bflo23 Agreed.

  • they put a Lot of work into this movie & they did it right~! I especially like how they played the rock record backwords and incite the demon's passage

  • Stephen Dorff was such a sweetheart. Not to mention extremely talented. :D

  • Lol i saw this movie when i was a kid like 4 years old Haha

  • 1987? this movie looks a lot older than that even when I watched it as a kid I though it was pretty old looking

  • This film was one of my kid/early teen favorite films. It's originality is so convincing over much of the BS horror crap of today. I also liked the following year's release "Pulse" which also was a very intense film for me. Those were the days of movies ............ along came the mid-90's and cinema gradually changed. Nowadays they say toothpicks (i.e. Paris Hilton ) and cosmetic plastic surgery mediawhores (i.e. Kim Kardashian) are beauty - well there's the REAL MODERN DAY HORROR FLICKS 4 U.

  • Imagine waking up and seeing 0:49

  • Good memories. I wanted something like this to happen to me when I was a kid weirdly enough. The main thing I remember was the kid had a chemistry set and I always wanted a chemistry set, also the big hole in the ground and those little creatures. Rock n Roll and horror movies in the 80's!

  • this looks so scary!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • i used to feel sick when i saw this movie

  • thats what you get when you fool around with those heavy metal records from the 80's!

  • @wiccawicker Rock and roll is of the Devil!!! (I'm being sarcastic)

  • i just pissed myself!!

  • ima order it on netflix... :D

  • I can't think of the tilte of this one movie. I'm 14 right now, and I can stilll rememeber watching it, so it's not TOO old. But there was this hole in the wall that led to hell, err had demons in it. Then there was this staircase on the right side of the house. At the top of the stairs, there was the bathroom. And the main people locked themselves in there to hide from the demons who were, I think, dressed in black, hooded robes? Like, Hell House or something. The cover had a house on it.

  • @Aikoleighluking Perhaps you saw House 1 (1986) Trailer. This scared the living shit out of me as a kid. Another 80's classic is The Monster Squad Trailer not scary in any way but brilliant nonetheless.

  • @MyGuide Thanks a ton, dawg. It's pretty similar. I can see how you got that. But I don't THINK it's that one. Like, the main people are, from what I can recall, ghost hunters. Something like that. And they move into the house with a hole on the wall.

  • This movie was so amazingly bad. I love it.

  • Man does this bring back memories. The 70s and 80s were the absolute golden age of horror movies. I remember watching this stuff on tv when I was a kid. Phantasm, Night Breed, 976-Evil, Fright Night, I could go on and on. Does anyone remember "Shocktober" on WPIX? They would play horror movies every single night for the entire month of October. Kids these days don't know what they're missing.

  • @borstalboy1981 I'm a kid, and I know what Im missing. D:

  • This has to be one of the most underrated Horror films of the 80's I saw this as a Kid and was scared so bad.
