Some version of this has been going on for twenty years or so. The cops would finger print kids and take Polaroid and it all went back home with mom and dad. The only time the cops had access to any of the material is if the kid loss kidnapped and then only the photo the parent would give the cops. After awhile it was suggested that dna should be kept by the parents also.
Now they are putting it on a id card the picture and physical description of the kid sealing it in plastic and mom and dad will have it with them. Not the cops. The only thing better is to photo of mom and dad and any authorized person to pick up the kid at school.

My school/district issued these i.d cards after 9/11. I was in 6th grade. The idea was for safety. But even all the way to 12th grade, the punishment for not having it on you had escalated. You needed this i.d for everything. From books to food. I remember during Junior year they would have these drills randomly stop and check people for their i.d I was stopped once mine was not on me at the time. I got a Saturday school. Now that I think about it, it all seemed like a way of forcing upon us. :P

What does this even do? It's a card the kid can carry with them that has their information in case they get lost? Assuming the kid gets lost and needs to find his/her parents, they will need to talk to an adult. If the adult is a pedo rapist, the card isn't going to do any good. If the adult is responsible, they will take the kid to the police. I don't see how this card fits in anywhere.

we have ID papers for vehicles,and when they are stolen they are found most of the time days later abandoned unless they have a tracking chip in them,then a theft like that can be traced when reported.ideally this card is useless,waist of time,money,and an insult to human intelligence.but people always find ways to make themselves feel important,blow up their ego in front of little people who swallow anything.btw i don't want to give the impression here that children should be chipped.

in my kids school, if they want to use the library they have to use a (quote) "exciting new system, which uses the child's fingerprint to make a unique number. No fingerprints are stored on a database." I declined to give permission for this, and asked why they needed a fingerprint to make a number.... numbered systems have been used for ages, without fingerprints

Some version of this has been going on for twenty years or so. The cops would finger print kids and take Polaroid and it all went back home with mom and dad. The only time the cops had access to any of the material is if the kid loss kidnapped and then only the photo the parent would give the cops. After awhile it was suggested that dna should be kept by the parents also.

My school/district issued these i.d cards after 9/11. I was in 6th grade. The idea was for safety. But even all the way to 12th grade, the punishment for not having it on you had escalated. You needed this i.d for everything. From books to food. I remember during Junior year they would have these drills randomly stop and check people for their i.d I was stopped once mine was not on me at the time. I got a Saturday school. Now that I think about it, it all seemed like a way of forcing upon us. :P
