  • just about the only "country" music i've ever liked...and i don't like it, i ADORE it. and it's technically bluegrass. i grew up listening to this....no words to describe the amazingness of the music, the musicians, and of course, allison!!!

  • @lilkush909 did you....read my comment?

  • @waltzingduck i love you

  • OMG, if i didnt know any better, i would say it was someone else, but with the voice of Alison!! What a transformation from this to how she looks like now!

Ofcourse appereance is not important comparing to the music they make, but still.. Wow!!

  • my biggest inspiration and the reason I got into bluegrass when I was 4. My parents would always listen to Alison and this is a fun one to play and sing, and just a great tune in general.

  • She is so wonderful. Just keeps getting better with time.

  • Should be the boy from Deliverance playing the banjo.. Damn i love Alison`s voice. She`s a damn angel :)

  • Who's the guitarist with the great harmonies?

  • @q1com dan tyminski..he went on to win a grammy for "man of constant sorrow"

  • @TheLisafar101 this is way before dan. only the banjo player and bass player survive to the current band. Gerry Douglas, the worlds greatest Dobro player and dan tyminski come when Allison is ready for them, which she wasn't at this point. I here it in her, but it isn't as fully developed and sophisticated as i becomes.

  • @jackhammer111 pretty sure thats ron block on the banjo? dan is a great singer and player and really helps with harmony when he sings with allison.

  • @jezx21 Yes, but that's NOT Dan playing guitar and singing in this video.

  • @jackhammer111 sure thats Ron on the banjo I know

  • @q1com John R. Bowman. He is Rebecca Isaacs Bowman's husband. I think he does some work with J.D. Crowe now.

  • Girl you born with that voice. You sing like an Angel.

  • AMAZING ! how old was she here ?

  • bad hair day hehe

  • i love alison, have done since i was a young fella. i still listen to her regularly.. this is ultimately my all time favorite that bluegrass music is the best. the mandolin solo is fantastic. rock on alison i hope to see you in concert one day!

  • This music brings back memories of dancing in the rain and homemade pasta with sauce made from the garden. Good memories that I will always cherish.

  • Original Alison Krauss......my favorite. What a voice!

  • brings me back, i was 15 and drove my mum and dad mad singing this at the top of my lungs while i was doing my chores.... loved the album!! funny how old memories come back with a song!!

  • I can't stop watching this over and over again !

  • Alli is an angel....:)

  • Who is playing guitar in this video??? Its not Dan or Jeff or tim.

  • That is John Bowman. One of my favorite voices. He played with Alison Krauss for about a year than played with the Isaacs forever.. He's now playing with Adam Steffey in the new band , the boxcars!

  • Alison Kraus and Union Station are the BEST! Music is Magic ,and here they are to prove it.

  • Alison's voice was angelic then and has only gotten better. Also, Alison has a more beautiful face now then she did then. How? Did her bone structure soften up naturally? Is she better with make-up/hair/wardrobe? Weight loss? Plastic surgery?

  • Sorry, but she is nowhere NEAR as pretty now as she was then. Why? She was REAL, like the music she played. She was pure, untouched by human hands, left to bloom as God made her. Strange, not only did her music change, but so did her looks. She became commercial, so her looks had to follow suit.

She is still among my favorite, but I will take this Alison over any others after.

  • Magnificent! what a voice, Blesses me. Thanks

  • Çan anyone tell me, who is the one with the mandoline??

  • Adam Steffey

  • Dan Tyminski one of the Original Union Statilon Members and still is. Still plays with Alison Krause. He has a beard now and is extremely talented! Alison Krause and US are the VERY BEST!!!

  • @DrCoots

While Dan Tyminski is an outstanding musician. he didn't join Union Station until 1994, when Tim Stafford left the band.

The original line-up on their first album "Two Highways" was:

    Alison Krauss - fiddle, vocals

    Jeff White - guitar, vocals

    Mike Harman - banjo, vocals

    John Pennell - bass

Jeff White went on to work with Vince Gill, and has a couple of outstanding solo albums. If you like Dan, you will probably like Jeff.

  • WOW! Thank you! I do enjoy AKUS a LOT as well as SOME of the Bluegrass and such out there.

  • Dan wasn't an original Union Station Member. He didn't come till 1994. John Bowman was there filling in before he came full time.

  • I hope my Reply/Post helps

  • I believe it was the Nitty Gritty Dirt band that said it best when they said she has the best bluegrass voice on the planet

  • that voice is celestial

  • Just one word for that....SUPER!

  • i truly am a hillbilly from the mountains and this was all the music we listened to at friends houses they would be get togethers and us kids would chase lighting bugs and eat watermelon and dancing to the music being played on the porch

  • I love anything AKUS, but this has got to be my favorite song.

  • She was still a hottie back then. Always a fantastic voice

  • she has a beautifull voice..shame about the hairdo...at least she has sorted it...what a top sort woman

  • "Every time you say goodbye" is one of their best albums! If you don't have it, get it!

  • This was the first AKUS music that really got me, and I've been a huge fan ever since. Wore out like three copies of this cd back in the day...

  • I grew up listening to her. This brings back the feel of home and the smell of scrambled eggs and ham. Nothing quite like it.

  • scrambled eggs and ham...you hit he nail on the head! same memories...=)

  • @waltzingduck My dad used to play her Now That I've Found You album all the time when I was about 4 or 5...I'll never forget hearing that beautiful voice on our old cd player reverberating around the living room

  • The best.

  • yeah He left Doyle Lawson in 1994 and after this brief fill in time with AKUS he went with the Isaacs and now hes with JD Crowe as bass player

  • Can anyone tell me where and when was this filmed?

  • I could be wrong, but I recall an interview with John Bowman in which he had said he only left AKUS because of meeting his future wife Becky Isaacs and his desire to be with her. John would be an asset to any group though.

  • Oh man she sounds young!

    Awesome though, note perfect.

  • Thanks for the post!! How long was John Bowman a member of Union Station?

  • I don't think he ever was a member. I think he just filled in between the time Tim Stafford left to the time Dan Tyminski came in.

  • Thank you so much for putting this up here! I love to watch early performances of my role model!

God bless you and her always!!!
