  • Hey my brother just got a got a prosthetic eye, and the movement is pretty off. I was wondering if you think it will improve over time?

  • @JasLow313

chances are it won't. Movement all depends on how good your doctor is and how well the surgery went, and also factors like your age, the reason for blindness, how well they were able to attach all the muscles, etc.

Once the eye has healed after surgery and you receive your painted prosthesis is when you find out just how good/bad it moves, and it doesn't improve beyond that - at least mine didn't.

  • here is the best result : leventakcay. com /protez-g%F6z-(%FCtse) . php

Doctor name is Levent Akçay from Turkey.

  • i dont see the title i dont see prosthetic i see strong man with hansom looking

    god bless u my friend

    alot of love from syria

  • i your eye look greate, cant you tell me where did you get it, doctor or clinic. i already have a prosthetic eye but it is to small and dosnt move. i have movement but my prosthetic eye dont respond very well and im planing to get a new one im from tijuana mexico tank for your help

  • PRO MUTHFKA!

  • it just looks like you have lazy eye so the eye is great

  • do you have an eyepatch?

  • hey, great move. i wanna know if you have Hydroxyapatite eye implant or not. i want to make for me one and i-m not sure how it works?

  • The movement is really great, mine isnt as great. Im dissapointed with the one i have right now because it hardly moves at all. People notice it and assume something else. They often joke around and look at me like an alien but thats because they dont understand(you wouldnt make fun of someone with amputaded limbs). Yours looks so natural both the movement and the eye itself. Im in highschool and hope that i can get one that moves like yours so people can hardly tell the difference.

  • Hey, why r ur eyes not at the same level?ur left eye seems to be higher than the right...

  • @srivatsan1985

im surprised u noticed, your the first one to notice that. I think its because its been a while since the operation and i need to get the shell replaced. Your supposed to get a new shell after 5 years (been almost 10 now) because the spherical implant shrinks a bit. It just looks slightly lower than my real eye because the upper eyelid comes down a bit more. I just haven't had the time to get it done.

  • i had an enucleation and your movement is a bit like mine. im getting a new prosthesis in a couple of weeks, its already been made i just need to get it "fitted". even just at the mould stage the movement with my new one is going to be as close to normal as you will get

  • u dont look happy

  • I just had the evisceration. Because most of the eye is kept, I think the movement is kept. All they remove is the fluid in the eye, and the corea, so it was never necessary to try to reattach muscles to the prosthestic. This is all in tact, and current movement is normal. With the prosthetic, as long as it fits well, should have very good monement.

With enucleation they remove the entire, eye, having cut the optic nerve, and all the muscles.

  • @Bgeves888

Yes this is correct. I would be very interested to see a video of your movement btw :)

  • My bad eye is diffent color and smaller compares with good one, but the movement is same as the good one, so I am thinking of have surgury of evisceration and have a sclera shell. Could you tell me, how does it feel with the shell and how often you need take it off and wash it?

I hope they don't bother you too much.

I think you eye's mobility is great, if you don't mention that one of your eye is prosthetic, I definitly will not think it's fake at all.

  • @pigvivivi I'm not sure with evisceration, but i can tell you my shell feels very comfortable, i hardly ever take it out, maybe once every 4 months just to rinse it under water.

  • @Eonnn84 thanks a lot for you reply

  • Is there a way you could explain the difference between vision with one eye as opposed to two? My left eye is going bad fast and need some advice...

  • Hi, I m going to get a surgery in May. Did you had implant ? I dont know whether the implant surgery is called enucleation or everseration.. but it is one of the two. I m going to get the implant one, says it will have better movement. How long does it take to wear the lens ? I have school starting from Sept. and I m worried that I may not heal before that. Thank u fr the video. M.

  • i had an enucleation, they removed the entire contents of the eye, minus muscles and such. evisceration they leave some of the eyeball behind. I believe you can get good movement with either operation, just depends on how well the surgery goes. I had to wear a clear shell for 3 weeks. It has a couple of holes in it so you can put ointment inside every day for it to heal. If you've got till Sept. then you should have plenty of time :)

  • i had a retinoblastome wen i was born and i have a fake eye too, but it doesnt move at all

  • i lost my left eye in an accident now i,m havin a glass eye and it does not move at all..i want some movement plzzz help..will plastic eyes work..?? or this coral implant available in india? plz answer thanku!

  • hey do you have a sclerall shell or prostetic eyed?

  • I do not see my left eye. I think making the prosthesis. your eye prosthesis completely? I very like dentures.

  • I do not see my left eye. I think making the prosthesis. your eye prosthesis completely? I very like dentures. Where did you do. and how long did it take in this respect I very glad you could give me information.

  • i was wondering do you have the peg? for better movement.

  • no i do not have a peg

  • hey man i have 1 2 but my movement is not as good ....just wanted 2 ask u a question everybody keeps talking about a peg wats that all about thanks ....

  • A peg is basically a little stick thing that is attached to the coral ball, and it attaches to the eye piece for better movement.

  • alri sounds good but i have ta say the movement u have is just like ya other 1 its brill ya wouldn even no ya had a false eye its a class job love it

  • yeah thanks, i think i just got lucky.

  • What happened to your eye if you dont mind me asking?

  • accident when i was 4 years old involving a piece of broken glass... its a long story.

  • Ouch :O

  • I'd ask but it would be very rude of me.

  • any one can do dat

  • Well its a glass eye and usually glass eyes cant move so well with the other eye.

  • @ErikaLovesAdam there not glass there plastic (acrylic)

  • hey bro where did u get your prosthetic eye done? It looks better than anyone else that I've seen.

  • Royal Perth Hospital, Western Australia

  • thanks man

  • Has anyone heard of these guys in California called eyesthetics? I saw a video on the web with them and the prosthetic looks good, but does anyone know they type of prosthetic they use?

  • Seems it moves better to the right than anywhere else.

  • Have you thought about getting a peg to attach to your prosthetic eye?

  • yeah im not going to bother i'm happy with it as it is.

  • im going to get a peg if im not satisified, when i get my fake eye. I just hate surgery, the pain sucks ass.

  • Ever looked at the magnetic implant that improves prosthetic eye motility?

  • nope never heard of it

  • Regarding the question about magnets in the implant and prosthesis, my ocularist does not recommend this becuase it is very uncomfortable and pinches the conjunctiva. It's also bad because it may not be possible to get an MRI, if needed, due to the metal.

  • i just heard about the magnetic prosthetic eye. theres a video on the web about it. it looks okay. doesn't quite move with the muscles or other eye, this dude can move his fake eye better than the magnetic one..hmm..

  • I think I've seen the same video of the magnetic implant system that HeyPlayGirl99 is referring to - I thought that they put the wrong video up because it was pretty unimpressive, considering the hype they're dishing about their product.

  • where did my comment go...

  • dude, i have a prosthetic eye too,

that range of motion is outstanding.

mind if i ask if you have a mount implant or is the eye unattached?

  • mount implant.

  • hey man I have a proshtetic eye too ...but mine doesnt move as good as yours,so I wanted to know is there anyway to make the movement better ?

  • thats something you would have to ask your doctor about because I honestly dont know.

  • alright cool man thanks

  • same problem..

my eye doesnt even move at all

  • omg i hope when i get mine it moves like that. i hope that i get the terminator one that glows red and plays that terminator song

  • omgg!

ur so lucky urs move 90%

    mines only 30%...

    is that glass?

  • no its made of coral

  • lucky -.-

    mines glass and it

doesnt even move so its embarassing

    but who cares lol..

btw u look like my science teacher

  • how come you have a glass one? i thought they stopped doing those years ago. would you be able to get a coral implant that moves if you opted for another surgery?

  • i had it i think at 1998.

im 14 now and been carrying since 4.

  • thats weird.

i dont understand why you have a glass one that doesn't move.

  • i also wear artificial eye.

have u ever try corrective glasses of flash ( mirror) coating?

i heard that if we use light flash ( mirror) coating on glasses than eye not much visible to others (prevent other people from seeing eyes.)

we can use in indoor also in day and night.

    Is it true?

  • u mean reflective glasses like the ones morpheus wears in "The Matrix"? well of course glasses like these will help hide the eye but you can't walk around everywhere you go with these on.

  • may be u r right.but i think if we use very light colour mirror coating that can work because it do not hide eye completly.

can u seggest me any other glasses which can help me in indoor also in day and night.

  • sorry i dont know. its probably best if you goto a store that sells glasses and ask them.

  • you look like a really nice person, gluck with everything :) *hugs* oh and ur cute ;) hehe :)

  • what happened to your eye and you are cute :)

  • thanx :)

I had an accident when I was 4 with a piece of broken glass.

  • didn't cost me a thing because i got it done under the public health system

  • how can i get the same treatment??

    thank you

  • I'm not sure... I just had it done by any old doctor at the regular hospital through the public system. It might be a good idea though to mention to the surgeon that what your hoping for is good movement.

  • Is moving greeeat!! you have great prothetic eye. Can you tell me please how much cost it?

  • sorry i dont know.

  • sorry i dont know what those things are... i can tell you that it is a coral implant and the operation was an enucleation.

  • Yeah the coral implant is the same. I was just wondering if the prosthetic eye and the implant are joined by a post or a peg cos that is supposed to increase movement

  • Can you tell me what kind of implant you got? Is your prosthetic eye on a peg? Is it a hydroxyapatite implant? I'm getting prosthetic eye soon and there are those options. Yours looks great!

  • great movement in your eye by the way, your doc must be quite the talent

  • hey can u tell me where u got that done at? i need to get a surgery too?

  • I had it done at Royal Perth Hospital in Western Australia.

  • Wow you have great eye movement unlike mine, sounds silly, but I dont even know what kind of removal I had!

  • descripton of evisceration is wrong its far superior to enuculation muscles remain undisturbed.

  • I'm clinging onto the last bit of my vision, and I'm thinking of getting a prothetic eye and this seems pretty good

  • This is great man! Great movement...I got a prosthetic eye and everybody says it's so perfect but i was so self counscious! Now, seeing you I'm like...humn...it does look real!

  • Hello, I have the same implant. Nice to watch this, looks very good.!

  • hey your real cute....

I was in a real horrific incident where i lost my left eye.... i am waiting for surgery for a prosthetic eye.... but mine will not move, because i lost all the nerve, muscle, tissues....everything.

    :)

  • Hey thx babe,

I'm sorry to hear that.. hopefully they will come out with nanotechnology soon so we can all have our vision back! we really do see the world differently.
