What is the general rule for how much BP lift you need for your shell? And also do you need a lift cup attached to your shell or can you add the BP at the bottom of your mortar tube with a fuse at the base?

10-15% the weight of the shell is how much BP you need. And you need a lift cup. It makes everything sooo much easier.

General manufacturing is for each 12 ounces of the shell, 1 oz lift is needed.

The spiking was done by the most standard way.. assembled and spiked (flax twine) then pasted with 70# virgin kraft
