  • Worship and praise, and music is not spiritual if the spontaneous move of the Holyspirit is not in it,,,We cannot help God ,God has to help us.Not by power not by might but by my spirit saith the Lord,Nothing against this man,I just dont believe in modern music ministry to save anyone. Not in bible at all.

  • Thanks for sharing.Gob Bless

  • Thanks for sharing God Bless.

  • Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and #7 - he that soweth discord among brethren.

Please don't be so sure that you know your brothers and sisters hearts. Let's work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

  • @beauarmstrongtx btw....Keith Green and Rich Mullins are my favorite (artists of course).....truly anointed....love this song!

  • @beauarmstrongtx The 'text in the video' are the very words of Keith Green not mine. You should the book about his life 'NO COMPROMISE' it is very good and inspiring.:)) Thanks for watching the video.Keith had very strong convictionbs about the 'music ministry' .Bro.David.

  • @aflame4God ....thanks brother....I have the book right here on my book shelf....bought it on ebay a few years back. It sits next to "The Master Plan of Evangelism" by Coleman. Have a great weekend Bro David. - Beau

  • @havingfun35 No brother Keith had it right. There is a difference between Christians that entertain and those that minister. Christians should never have fans, at all times their "fans" should be led to Jesus and the cross.

I dont know the motives of all these artists hearts but I have seen several high profile artists leave the world of CCM because of the corruption within the industry itself.

  • Thanks for sharing this. God bless!

  • wow this was a humbling video to me . I feel I have been doing this and repent Lord of doing such a thing Idolizing and raising men above God. I have repented also recently certain pastors/theologians above God as well and deleted about a Gigabyte of sermons i had on my music player i hadn't listened to yet...I still have sermons on computer but just a few of them that i know i will listen to I want to Glorify God and not men. Thanks for this Brother God Bless you.

  • Sweet!

  • He gave the glory to God. WE all shall do the same. The only thing Yah wants from each and everyone of us is to obey and glorify Him all the time. May Yah bless all of you abundantly.

  • That's so powerful and wonderful! Keith Green is one of my husband's and my very favorite singer/evangelists - What a legacy he has left for the Lord's work, and what a wonderful example he is for us to follow, as he followed closely after the Lord Jesus! Thanks so much for putting this on Youtube! God bless you richly!

  • A must see message ! I am so tired of all the entertainment in a lot of 'christian music' and a lot of ungodly living .Who wants to be a missionary these days. You can fill a stadium to hear some Christian Band but only get a handful to hear a missionary! Some of the CD covers show menacing looking people with no smiles,no joy in the Lord.Look just like the world and we even give them dove awards. Why cant we wait till we get to heaven to get our rewards??

  • Amen! The new age Christians are so easily beguiled into idolatry, and I know for a fact. *points at me*. Music is great when it is glorifying Christ, but music can become a stumbling block if it's just the opposite or filled with poisonous lyrics. Most Christians bands perform at theme parks nowadays. It's all good, but there is a lack of gospel at these shows. We need the real Christianity back!

  • @XiaoFury You are so right. The old hymns last forever because they are full of biblical content plus there are some great worship songs that are very God honoring-but sad to say there is alot of fluff and puff and alot of noise that is very shallow and just entertainment. There must be accountability with those in music ministry...they must be sound mature believers.

  • ...really wonderful...

  • Praise God!

  • This man is right. The christian mammon churches & their various tentacles they call ministry r plagued with all the diversity of idolatry. I worked in a Christian university for 8 yrs & saw the 'music ministry'& the people that were in it & what they did in secret. They slept around, drank, partied & so on, then put on the show of shows. People idolized them & they accepted it. Most churches follow corporate america's model of success which is creating idols fo people to follow.

  • They then make merchandise of people who idolize and covet what pastors or musicians have and sell them dvd's and books and so on on how to get what they have. The kingdom of God is about picking up one's cross and following after Jesus and losijg our lives in this world for His sake. Christians exalt men & women who they do not know insteaf of exalting only JESUS.Its not about pastors, ministry, music, talents, this world... it all about JESUS.

  • amen , worship of God, not worship of worship.

so many mega- churches atract people through entertainmet [ music ]

you usely find no biblical truths there.

    Let Him me lifted up.

  • @weeweelegs Amen brother I AGREE....The 'who' worship is so vital. That is, are we worshipping the God of the Bible? Do we know Him?Do we know His HOLY ATTRIBUTES?...as you said 'worship of worship' without any thought of lyrics etc.

  • Sadly, this the 1st time I've heard of this young man. I was deeply moved by this video. The combination of the song and overlayed text conveyed a very serious message, that hopefully will open many eyes. It's refreshing that in spite of Keith's talent, he lets it be known that it's not about him, but about our wonderful Saviour Jesus Christ. Thanks "aflame4God" for refering me to this video.

  • @jerrywh1 Bless you dear brother! I really felt it was important to make this video.Keith died in 1982 at the age of 28 in a tragic plane crash. His insight and discernment was wise beyond his years and his words very thought provoking.Bro.David/aflame4God.

  • strong words...

Lord I ask that You work within me...give me a hunger to follow You and not seek for comfort...restore to me the joy of following Christ...

  • Keith greens music.I've never heard it.His message though, is rare.I've seldom heard that.

  • someone thumbed down this video. I guarantee it was a wannabee Christian rock star, convicted by the message.

    Repent and be saved.

  • Great video Brother! I Love Keith Greens Music and He is right! Its all about Jesus! Great reminder...Thanks!!!!!

  • BY FAR THE BEST VIDEO I HAVE EVER SEEN

  • @jcschain This message from Keith Green is very humbling and soul-searching-we must always examine our motives. Why do we do what we do in the ministry? Thank you for your comment.Brother David.Lord create in all of us a clean heart!!

  • I thank God for those who lead in worship from a clean heart but it is very tragic how commercialized 'christian music' has become. There are a lot who perform from an empty heart that is wordly and it becomes a mere staged performance. Then later we find out they have been living in sin or have crossed over into secular music. And how few desire to go to the mission field.Keith is right!!

  • @milviewgal There are professional polished preachers and singers without the anointing of the Holy Ghost. We must be 'sold out ' to Jesus and go where ever He wants us to go.

  • 1 Cor 7:20-22 Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.

21 Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.

22 For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant.

    KJV

  • What a blessing this is. Thank you for posting. May God continue blessing you.

  • Very lovely.

  • This is a different theme, so related to us christians, thanks it is really amazing

and made me think a lot !!! God bless Maru

  • AMEN!!!

  • very very nice thanks for sharring brother ,i truely apreciate any thing to do with the lord, talk to you later ,take care and may God continue his blessing to all of us

  • Havingfun35 you are clueless and have no idea what is the heart of this message. He is a man who traveled all over the world singing for Jesus and was an insider to the CCM and he saw this up close and speaks from experience and discernment.Wow cannot believe you could not understand what he is saying. You are making a very general statement 'hes got it all wrong" or 'there is no worship of the artist.'

  • @mistercommentman People can have every CD of an artist and do not about their lifesytle ,ethics and if they are living holy. They love their music regardless and that is idolatry.Ray Boltz divorces his wife leaves his kids and declars he is a homosexual.Sady Patti committs adultery and divorces her husband! Jennifer Knapp has been living a lesbian life! All well known artists with there many 'fans' living in sin and excuses it while singing for Jesus!! Abomination !

  • He's got it all wrong to make such a general statement about the motives of peoples' heart. Personally I love to worship God and I would love the opportunity to lead others in worship of God as well. There is no worship of the artist it's all about our savior.

  • Thank you brother David for this powerful HOLY SPIRIT filled message. Is it any wonder why we as a world wide people are confused by our priorities & how they're so turned upside down & inside out. If we as adults can't walk the narrow road which JESUS guides & directs us upon, how'll we ever teach our children & youth? It's only through the precious grace of our LORD that we're still treading HIS narrow path each day. JESUS bless you & all who preach the true gospel of JESUS CHRIST. <(^8

  • I love Keith Green and never realized what an amazing man hhe truley is. I'm plkacing this on my facebook so others can see it. God Bless You and Thanks so very much. smile

all stars for you @ praise our Lord

    God Bless You

    ~bro Ernesto....

  • Absolutely true! Wonderful video! My prayers and keep up the good work my friend.

    God bless you!

  • Beautiful message in this video. Truly a man after Yahweh's heart. Thanks for posting!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this with me! I know that I was created to praise! And it was the Holy Spirit who allowed me to see that I sing not for my own pleasure or acceptance, but solely for Him! For His glory, honor, and praise! And to lead any others to the throne of grace where we can exalt our King! All Hail King JESUS!!!

  • thank you so much for this reminder aflame4God. At the beginning of my Christian walk I was bying all the latest Christian music, concerts etc but know very seldom do I do those things, unless it's old hymns with great theology and scriptures. All this money now goes towards missionaries.

    Love in Christ,

    Guy

  • Awesome!!!! love it!!! God bless you!!!!

  • "Are you willing to be a nobody who the Lord uses mightily?" Love that! Great message, David!

  • the GO of the GOspel!!!

  • I was a fan of Keith Green several years ago. He was a radical for God. God bless you brother.

  • Thank you Keith. My son in law and daughter, Brian and Elizabeth LaChance have a ministry in music as well as Brian has always made his living in music. They too are dedicated to the Lord and I am so thankful for their faithfulness to Him. Like you, they take a stand for their christian faith in this old sinful needy world. God bless you Keith. Betty

  • Awesome! Thanks for sharing Bro David! Praise Jesus!

  • Thank you for sharing. I can see his influence in your songs.

  • Thank you aflame4God-this was one of the best videos ever sent to me!Keith Green is a hero of mine.I love the book-"No Compromise"-one of my favorites.I'm thinking I need to read it again to remind myself of true discipleship and dying to self.great video! Thanks again.-Samuel.

  • thanks for the video. ( =

  • Excellent video. TRUTH!

  • Its funny how you sent me this because I was praying this Prayer this moring... The Holy Ghost is everywhere..and how amazing he is, and Keith too!

  • Absolutely Wonderful! Thank you And God Bless you and the music lives on : )

  • Love excelente cancion y emicionante muchas gracias amigo, saludos.

  • if i were to choose....BOTH..for GOD's GLORY!

this video is an EYEOPENER..thanks for sharing brother dave.

  • To many performers in the church and fewer true disciples and worshipers. The chucrch has become a 'House of Merchandise". The lyrics in alot of recent 'CHIRISTIAN MUSIC' has become very generic and watered down.Just as a pastor must be a mature believer so must those who are in music minstry.Sad to say its not true in both cases.

  • Remember when I read the book about him and Melody. Touched my heart very deep.

No compromises. We have to give everything to the Lord.

    Thx for sharing brother David!

  • Very convicting. Thank you for such a timely message.

  • Yes, I am ready to become "nothing" for the cause of Christ. I praise you oh Father Yeshua and give thanks for the many individual personalities you have given us, all for the glory of you! May we become all things to all men so that we may save some. Mr. Keith Green's heart is in the right place.

  • Well done.

    God bless you.

    Brother Don

  • Very nice, thank you for sharing this with me.

  • Love the passion and preaching in this video!! He is right!

  • @54spiritedwill54 Yes he is 100% right on target ! Very convicting ! Many singing and preaching for Jesus have motives that are not pleasing to the Lord. What Keith says should make all of us examine our hearts. We need a renewed right spirit!

  • @aflame4God Blessed be the Wonderful Sweet Mighty Name of Jesus!.....soon coming King of Kings and Lord of Lord!....Acts 2:38-42....

  • @aflame4God Thanks for posting !!! ?GB

  • @aflame4God thank you for sending this. Keith is one of my all time favorite musicians. The passion for Christ really comes out in his singing. I love "The Easter Song," and I have never listened to "The Prodigal Son," without getting teary. I look forward to meeting him in heaven some day... not too soon hopefully :) lol

  • @aflame4God Great video Brother! I Love Keith Greens Music and He is right! Its all about Jesus! Great reminder...Thanks!!!!!

  • @Justvisitinghere2 God bless you and yes this is a topic of great importance! The holy worship of God and missions MUST NEVER be a money making business. Its all about Jesus and not about us.

  • Thank you for posting!

  • Powerful video.... Glory to Him forever!!!!

  • Jonah 2:9

But I, with a song of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. Salvation comes from the LORD."

    Ephesians 5:19

Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord,

    Psalm 40:3

He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.

  • Just saw a show interviewing a 'gospel singing diva'.The man interviewing her was just gushing saying she was a 'legend,a icon" with a soul train ward ans now a Grammy Award!! I say big deal. It was said she influenced Beyonce and Mariah Carey! Made me sick it was all about exalting her and not Jesus! We do not need idols and icons we need servants of Jesus.

  • Thank you for sharing this video. It carries spiritual seeds that I needed. I was beginning to lean on my own understanding asking why is the spiritual revival that I was told happening? I learned that my job is to obediently follow and not be concerned with the results it will entail.

  • Posted on my facebook page. This is wonderful as ususal.

  • I once was a singer in the worship band...wanting to the better and better......it became about me and the "sound".......then God yanked me away into the desert......now I'm just a nobody who is ignored by the church coz I'm not worth listening to....yet I have never been closer to God than I am now. This was a very humbling message. This song, inspired by the psalm...one of my favourites! Blessings, bro!

  • @PenelopeA57 Bless you dear sister for your honesty! Pride can really become a problem when we minister before a crowd...preaching,teaching,worship.singing solo etc.We really have to guard our hearts.God anoints humility and we all need extra doses of humilty. We it becomes about 'us' we are in trouble. When ministry becomes performance it grieves the Spirit.

  • @PenelopeA57 God bless you its not all about you now but about him Jesus Christ

I pray more will become like this.I would like to use this on my face book Salt and Light AS I expose the C-Rockers for who they are leading our youth astray.

Blessings on you as yopu serve our Risen Saviour

  • @Bibledefender4u GOD BLESS YOU-FEEL FREE TO PUT THIS on face book and share with your friends. The message is important in these times of apostasy.Jesus gets all the Glory and we get none.He is The Vine and without HIM we can do nothing. If our music does not lead others to worship the True God then it is worthless.God bless you!

  • @aflame4God Many performers who come to Christ have a difficult time putting aside the "performance" part of their personality. For myself God cut all my ties with music for a time, then gradually began to turn on my music gift periodically after I had a good theological foundation of the kingdom of God. Even now I understand the music ability can be turned on and off at His will. It is a difficult balance at times.

  • @PenelopeA57 bless you for being a nobody, your reward is in heaven !!!

  • Truer words were never spoken. I use to belong to a web-site where many 'famous'

gospel music icons posted their videos. When you would read their ABOUT ME page there was NO MENTION of Jesus. Was all about self-exaltation. It was all about his or hers great accomplishments in Christian music. My opinion is that anything done to bring Glory to God or Jesus was never meant to be sold. But that's just my opinion. Perhaps God's opinion also.

  • @ALittleBrother Excellent comments my friend-Jesus is BIG BUSINESS using the Lamb of God as a performer and entertainer!! It grieves my soul deeply. People actually get 'chills' listening to Elvis sing 'How great thou art" while people call him the King instead of Jesus. The lifestyles of many whether southren gospel or CCM is one self-promotion and self exaltation, fame and fortune.Thank God for those who sing for the glory of God and noyt the glory of men!

  • I think tis is one of the most powerful videos I've seen to make you think of where our hearts are really at..it is not just the "christian" musicians..it is all of us..are we really willing to be a silent nobody in order to follow the LORD's will? I pray that HE will make me so if I am not. Thank you so very very much for this posting..it has really hit my heart and ego where I needed to be hit..thank you again and GOD bless you

  • Amazing video !! Great music too !

  • Love the passion and preaching in this video!! He is right! Many aspire to be in music ministry but few want to suffer on the mission field ! Many are living in sin ,making a lot of money as they sing about Jesus.Disgraceful!

  • The touble with most (especially young people & some older), is they put so much attention into their music (Christian or secular), they lose sight of the real goal and calling of Christians. If they would put as much attention into serving Christ as they do with their favorite music or music artist, they could accomplish much for Him who died for us. Has any one counted the cost ? Thanks for posting, Brother David ! HaHo !

  • @MrRunningwolfe Excellent points!! Counting the cost. You can invest so much time into your music, your contracts, fans,CDs and you can get fame and applause just like the secular groups but at the end it can be wood, hay and stubble because it was not done for the glory of God!Why do we do what we do?

  • It is written that God will put a new song in our heart.!

That song is in rejoicing in the Good he has done in our lives.

He can take an old stony heart in turn it into a heart of flesh.

I once was lost, but now I am found.

I once was blind, but now I see.

New song or not, it is not about us, but rather what he brought us through and our cares are still resting in his hands, because he cares for us.Everyone has a testimony, a song, but the greatest is his Sweet Grace, which is sufficient for all

  • Amen!...amazingly true...wow

  • Excellent vid! Five stars, love Keith Green! Great message...most singers (Christian) today are mostly performers who put on a show...Keith Green was not one of them. He was humble!

  • Amen!!!

  • Clearly, Keith Green exhorts us all to live our lives to bring glory to God and not ourselves. God has given each one of us gifts to help one another and give thanks to God. We should use our gifts and talents for God's purposes - and we will truly be happy fulfilling that purpose. Five stars!

  • Kieth deplored using the ministry to acquire material things and to gain wealth. He had a strong conviction not to charge for his concerts which he would sing and preach his heart out.He gave away his albums and cassettes for free or 'for whatever you could afford'.IN HIS DAYS NO OTHER MUSIC MINISTRY who do what he did anmd today it is the same.

  • @GodlyWorship

    WHOA NOW THATS MOTIVATION

  • Few Christian music artists would be willing to forsake all and go to a country to preach the gospel free of charge!! To be nothing but a simple vessel with no applause, no 'fan base'.To be unknown and not popular and suffer for His names sake! FANTASTIC MESSAGE!!

  • @CaribbeanBlueSea So very true and it is so sad.We need vessels of the Lord who give Him ALL THE GLORY.

  • A true prophet for our time, Lord let this spirit be in all of us.

  • Great video!

  • I didn't realize Keith Green was such an amazing pianist until this video. Very cool.

  • This is a timely video. Most young people love their favorite Christian bands but have never read a biography on William Booth,John Buyan,George Whitfield,Jim Elliot and the many men and women of God who laid down their lives to do the work of God.This is so piercing !!

  • Awesome video!! Convicting word from Kieth Green. The Christian Music Ministry takes in milllions and millions of dollars and many are living the high life of luxury singing about Jesus!! It grieves my spirit.

  • @mistercommentman Amen...so very true.Gospel music is like a big money making business like secular music. How many really have a clean heart like this song. How many are sold out to Jesus like Kieth Green was.Love the video!
