  • Why are you starting with 10 000.

  • @TheYeahwow the choice was for an example. Maps have different fractional scales to show how much they are scaled down from the real world. In this case, we're looking at a hypothetical map with a fractional scale of 1:10,000. So, the hypothetical map is 10,000 times smaller than the true distance on land.
