Great "clawing". That surf sound that needs to be brought back. Knopfler, Cray, Dire Straits "Sultan of swing", Mickey Baker's "Love is strange", Santana's "Winning", Beach Boys "Surfing USA", and The Ventures original "Walk, Don't Run". I just don't hear great guitar sounds like that anymore. It's almost like all of the guitar manufacturers are getting dumbed-down (tonewise) with overdriven, muddy voices. Fantastic playing and multiple styles as well. The Peavey Vypyr 30 is one fantastic amp. I've had one since December and I'm still finding new sounds that it produces well.

I'm so torn between a Vox VT50 and a Vypr 30. They both have great sound. I play variety of styles on the guitar.

I auditioned both of them and while the VT50 is a very nice amp, the Vypyr 30 has lots of nice features and as Herr Arp shows, you can really do a lot of interesting things with your sound. If you want to get really funky, the Sanpera II is a "must have".

Hi Matt, Just thought Id tell you today I purchased a vyper 75. In the end the reasons were: best modeling sound, more FX, bestacess to editing FX,and lastly, the most bang for the bucks! Your promt replys to all my questions helped (no doubt) a great deal as well. I will continue to drop in for new vids.

Hi, Matt I was able to demo the vyper series and thought they sound very good. My question this time is: no matter what I did I could not turn off the delay. Store people could not tell me why and I found nothing in the manual. Can you helop me with this? Thanks

Hi - yes, i can help, and it´s quite simple! if you push the effects button, you get into the effects edit mode, where delay feedback and delay level can be adjusted - just turn down the delay level and that´s it! Best regards Matt

Settings are: Stompbox Squeeze P1: 3 1/2, P2: 2 1/2, Amp: B-Kat green, Pregain 6 1/2, Low 7, Mid 5, Hi 4 3/4, Effects Bypass, Reverb 2 1/2

by the way - "4 1/2" means the fourth LED plus 2 of the four possible in-betweens to the fifth LED... wow, sounds complicated, but this is the exactest way to describe it... have fun with it & best regards! Cheers - Matt

what are you using to create the backing tracks and what are they coming thru when you play?

Usually I use Logic (depends on the studio...) and the backing tracks are played by an IPod - Amp mike and backing tracks go into a mixer and then into the camera - monitoring via Hifi-system.
