  • This is not the same routine as level 3. Im a level 3 and the bar routine in pullover, back hipcircle, mill circle, then cast feet up on the bar dismount. And this is the level four routine i have friends on level four and i have seen them do there routine

  • Good job! I wish I knew your score. I competed level 4 the past season and this brings me back to the feeling I got at competitions.

    At state I scored 9.9 on bars, it was my best event. I should post a video!

  • Beautiful LEVEL 4 bar routine!!! Congrats on it! My daughter is 7 and just got her front hip circle...she loves watching the videos to see how other gymnasts do it. Thanks for sharing!

  • ahhhh! people!!! i am currently competing level four: the bars routine is- glide and return pullover front hip circle, cast cast, single leg shoot through reverse grip windmill change to normal grip swing leg back to a front support cast, back hip circle, then directly into and underswing YOU HAPPY NOW? :D
  • Ok the level 4 routine is that i competed yesterday at the sectiona;s in vermont so i would know it goes glide swing, pullover, cast to horizontal cast single leg shoot through, stride circle, back hip circle, underswing dismout

  • @luvmeforever12 don't they change the routines every four years? like after the olympic year, all of the routines change. so, in 2007 (the year that this video was), the routine was different from yours in 2009 because 2008 was the olympic year. im not a gymnast, so i might be wrong, but thats what ive heard.

  • I can do everything on that bar routine except the front hip circle. I started gymnastics in the end if June. I only have 1 practice a week. I taught myself a lot of stuff that my coach has not taught yet. I do not do team but this December I might start.

  • UGH!!! I CAN"T GET MY STUPID SHOOT THROUGH! I only have like 5 months untill my first comp and I can't GET THE DANG SHOOT THROUGH!!! Any tips? I need all the help I can get!!!

  • Its O.K.. The trick is to not worry about being pretty. (At least this works for me) Just go as fast a possible. I like to close my eyes and imagine a song going on in my head and do the trick to the rythym of that song. (For bars, my song is boom boom pow by the black eyed peas. I try to do the trick sstarting at the first boom, ending at the third. If you know im even talking about.)

  • when you put your feet on the bar, point your toes so it forms an arch around the bar nd it helps heaps. also try to leave your feet on the bar for a bit so you have the nice shoot look when you come off the bar. i came first in state trials for bars and i had a toeshoot and i did those things and it obviously worked!

    good luck with toeshots or shoot throughs as you call them =]

  • Are you thinking about the USAG Level 6 routine? The level 4 routine happens on only one bar. How could she do a front hip then a squat on then a pullover? The level 6 routine has the "baby giant".

  • @luvmeforever12 im not trying 2 start anything but ur wrong cuz im a level 4 gymnast rite now and there are a lot of other level 4s on my team and that is the level 4 routine 4 bars. i practice it that way and thats the way my coaches taught me.

    And you're not level 1 (if you live in America). I don't know the level 1 bar routine but level 2 is just pullover, backhip, straddle toe shoot dismount.

  • Probably because of after the glide, she kind of flopped (her legs) and after her dismount she umm landed with legs apart. Well I'm not a judge so what I think is probably not right. I thought it was really good though. Those judges are way too picky picky

  • thanks! actually she's quite skinny. maybe her legs are just less skinny. :-) but, she does run faster than a lot of kids (boys included) of her age. :-)

  • I don't know what state you're from, but there is a national routine and each state is allowed to make small adjustments. In Georgia, the kip is an optional skill on level 4. It becomes a requirement on level 5, so most girls who can will compete it on level 4 to perfect it before they get into the more serious levels.
