i think african culture is beautiful. so goes with every other cultures on Earth, i respect all culture and I am open minded to learn from all others.
omg... im going back home real soon... i havent been there in years and this video just made me break down to tears.... my home, my country, my pride... Thank you for reminding ME what i am missing....
In no way am i racist, but i believe we should take our black people, over to africa and these people over here. THeyre so much more respectful and nice. And is this soundtrack from like lion king or something.
I know, I know - the music is not Kenyan, but it was the best I could do at the time with limited editing resources. The dances and costumes are all Kenyan since this took place at Bomas of Kenya.
Would you consider posting some of your videos on Teacher Tube. I would love to show this video clip and a few other to my class but yout ube is blocked in our school. You have wonderful videos.
Sorry vivacious, that is Kenyan music and Kenyan dance. Africa is similar in many ways than one, including our music and dance, strange! you are from Africa ain't you? Good job to the person who shot the video, thanks for sharing our culture.
this is a great showing of kenyan stuff, looks like you taped this at BOMAS of Kenya. the PROBLEM is that the background music sounds like the Lion king music from South Africa. Please re-do it and use kenyan music, even if it is the famous JAMBO, JAMBO bwana song otherwise this is half done! Nice try though!
It's true the music may not be Kenyan , but everything else is ! It's all got to do with culture ; ours is diverse and rich . Karibu Kenya ! And , honestly , thank you for the good work .
That would be very strange since I shot this in Nairobi, Kenya, not West Africa. The show put on for us was called "The Culture of Kenya". The only thing not Kenyan, would be the music I used, which funny enough, no one commented about yet. Unfortunately, I had to use outside music because the music I recorded on location came out poorly. :(
this is not kenyan culture! many of those outfits, musical instruments and dances look distincly west african, in particular igbo and hausa-fulani! only the last 2 dances are masai-like; with the jumping up and down and leaping about.
hahaha let me ask you a question viva, where is it believed is the ancestral home of the bantu? also the swahili call a fly 'nzi', do u call it 'zi' in igbo? cheers
well you havent been to kenya i guess? just in a nut-shell kenya has approximately over 40 different tribes...wot i could see in this video was maasai, luo, mijikenda, borana, kikuyu etc. hey by the way i didnt know u have kikois and khangas in igbo an hausa cultures!!!?
A F R I C A - nothing compares to this unique beauty of africa... love from P A K I S T A N and C A N A D A <3

Thanks for sharing but why didn't you display the video with its original music of the people in the video?
brendam44 7 months ago
@brendam44 I wanted to, but the audio from my camera came out very poor and distant sounding. I had no choice but to lose it.

It seems much of this dancing is staged for tourists. The women don't actually dance.
