  • The pace was fast, thank God, but you could have slowed down here and there. Why do people think that something is more grand when it's spoken at a draggy pace rather than "trippingly on the tongue"?

    I liked the somewhat odd but nice beginning and end. Oddness is very Irish indeed.

  • Nice soft reading Brendan. I think, if I remember rightly, he wrote this for Maud Gonne, who he loved but who didn't return his love - or not in the way he wanted. Chas.
