@learntocatchcatfish is it okay to freeze the shad? i live near the bay on a river but where i live the water is only 4 feet deep i can just walk there and toss a throw net but i cant get out on the deep water until a off days comes my way. so is it okay to freeze shad?

As far as baiting a hook goes there is no real "right" way to do. Though, you should always double hook.

I was reading on your website about frozen shad and was wondering if you ever froze them with the slime on. I have tryed all the diffrent ways to freeze them and find that the slime on is the best(frozen) bait beside fresh/alive

Why is fresh shad so much better than preserved shad from the stores?

I would imagine because it has more oils and blood than preserved shad.
