@arvydas0069 I never said i support hamas. However, as reported by the UN, that israel has violated more international laws and committed more crimes. What bothers me is that why is hamas considered as a terrorist organization and israel not considered as terrorist state or something of that sort?
@nedasirdi Because Israel is a country, Palestine isn't. Hamas and Hezbollah are simply tools of Iran. Hamas members go around killing and breaking the kneecaps of young men who refuse to join their organization. Palestinians want Israelis gone because they BELIEVE that they have the right to their 3rd most holy city of Jerusalem. There is no logical reason for the divide, they simply want Israelis gone because of their religion. Israel is not going anywhere. Time to give up. Move on.
@arvydas0069 "hamas and hezbollah tools of iran". First of all, hezbollah started just a few decades ago when israel was illegally occupying south lebanon so its more of a resistence movement aainst israeli occupation. Hezbollah managed to free most of south lebanon not all of it. Hamas started in an almost similar fashion. Also, jerusalem does belong to palestinians and israel is also illegally occupying that as well and has no right to call it their capital.
@nedasirdi Hezbollah is funded by Iran. The weapons they used in their terror campaign against Israel in 2006 were Iranian weapons. @clevonamerica God you are the worst!! Please Muslim people I don't support Palestine BUT this man is soooo fucking dumb! SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU STUPID MOTHER FUCKER!!!
@clevonamerica Dude I really hope your not a jew, because you would really give us a bad rep. The way you attempted and failed to potray the college host as just some nice guy is bullshit. I realize that the Iranian president isn't a good man to say the least. But don't try to make the Columbia college staff member as how a ideal host should be. [next box]
@HellotisiDana "LEAST humanitarian country (ISRAEL) in the world" really? You honestly believe that? Worse than the Republic of the Congo in Africa? You know that they have actual Pygmies slaves there and the Bantu are their masters for life. and lets not forget the country North Korea, or do you really believe that its better to live in North Korea?
@clevonamerica They are arabs nots muslims and I, as an arab muslim, am totally against what they are doing. I believe he is inhumane and a bad person (my perspective) yet we are in no position to swear at him it should have been an area of debate, not this. I hate his opinions, but I respect and defend the right of having an opinion.
PS. please don't take this as the behavior of all arabs (notice how I didn't say muslims).
@clevonamerica Now on to your fallacious argument-these people are shouting because he is the ambassador of a country killing their families and taking over their land. Terhans president on the other hand hasn't done anything (directly) to America. No wars or centuries of violence, only tention which is only due to america's dogmatic and insecure nature. So their judgement and reasoning isn't clouded by emotion. Moreover, you are comparing an ambassador to a president-not very intelligent of you.
@mahmoudeldiablo Bottom line I see what you are trying to get at, I am against what they did but your arguments are fallacious and you have to give them a little bit of credibility. I believe that what they did i wrong because I rather punish him in a civilized manner, through the count -but since the student's have no right over them and are not even in their own country-they should have resolved to at the very least -a violent debate and interrogation like questions which put him on the spot.
you cant use "the holocaust" to justify Israel's illegal presence in the middle east. This was a occupation and it is simple unrecognized atleast until a separate Palestinian state is created. Think about this, what if i were to enter into your home, kick you out, your kids and your wife and move in with my family? How would that make you feel? The Israeli's stole this land from the Palestinians which is rightfully theirs. What Israel needs to learn is to "share." Claiming land by war is not."
WHAT a disgraceful introduction! That Lee bolinger has no dignity. That was unfair and nasty politics. He had no right to try to set the stage before the President of Iran came out. It shows that they are afraid of free thinking amongst the student population. FREE PALESTINE!!!
Ahmedinajad, surprisingly to me, held his own in that "debate". The students were stupid though - what do you gain with raw emotionalism? Just a few minutes in the limelight and a police record/possible suspension?
Instead, getting the univ to have an extended QnA session and grilling the ambassador on policy and consequences, would have been the way to go. Imbeciles.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
"Did they go too far"? Are you fucking kidding me? No shit they "went too far"... these muzzie savages are trying to silence people they disagree with, just like the leftists do with conservatives...
Hard to watch--stared at the flag button for a few seconds--decided I respected your right to speak more than your threat to murder all Israelis as equally culpable as their leaders, shrugged, noticed you were attractive, and moved on :P
i tend to agree with your view and appreciate the video. i believe the students are well within their rights protesting as they did disrupting as they did in re: free speech. Arresting the students and suspending is highly extreme punishment. Borringer is an embarrassment to me as an american and clearly sold himself as a tool. Honestly, what did he think he was accomplishing by expressing his trite opinion on this platform? What a fool, is he still at Columbia?
i feel terrible for his act of betrayal and loyalty; then again, his whole family publicly made it clear that they have nothing to do with him anymore..and he deserves it..
Israel is trying to take over the world-- and the US at that, too. These students just want to show what the ZIONISTS are doing. I give them kudos for being so brave.
Coming from a muslim background I feel this was very embarrassing. Muslims students should not have behaved this way, this was wrong at so many levels. They are hurting their own cause by acting like this.
@Nagrami coming from a muslim background myself, I don't agree with you about their reaction. I think they handled it very well and accordingly. Just like the example he gave, if a nazi soldier came to talk during the time of the holocaust, the jewish community would not have liked it. so in perspective, knowing that the jewish army (whether volunarily or forcfully) are distructing the homes of palestinians, I would only expect that palestinians would react this way. I aplaud them :)
open ur mind and think and read. how can u say this if u know how much muslims suffer around the world?????u r just a hypocrat. should one stay calm and say" yes, amin"
@dostatdoram7: Look, I understand the muslim suffering, especially the Palestenian cause. But I don't think this style of protest will produce any favorable results for Israeli-Palestenian conflict. They may feel better by doing this but only at the expense of discrediting themselve completely in the eyes of the world.
I think there are better ways to protest and get your message out. And yes, one must stay "calm" and be smart about their strategy. Showing frustration is a sign of weakness.
Of course needless to say I wouldn't invite that person into my house to begin with, but if I do, I would certainly treat him with the utmost curtsy, not because he deserves it, but because that is what my culture and religion dictates that I do.
Again, far be it for me to be criticizing what those students did. I'm only saying how I personally would have acted, and I'm not better than any of the.
I'm with you in principal Bret, but I personally think what the guy said about "coming into ones home" has some merit, I would have let him finish speaking before starting to raise controversial questions, and perhaps a bit of haggling. But as a Palestinian myself I do know where those guys were coming from. Like you said, it's not easy to see a representative of a community that you perceive as highly oppressive to your people being greeted with open arms.
thanks bret,, i thought first that u were against those students and i even didnt want to listen to how u would justify that being telling the facts to an israeli criminal is rude ,, but when i heard the whole thing , i once again express my deep admiration of u ,, and im also glad u watch the videos i send u :)
Once upon a time they could have played the "they are radical muslims" card.. It doesn't wash any more people in the west are seeing what Zionism really represents. The UK and US government can only ignore the will of the majority for so long and that time is running out. Let me tell you people the best way to protect ourselves from "terrorists" is to stop our governments supporting Zionism. We are responsible for our government's actions.
about Irvine students who interrupted the ambassador , i think this act wasn't professional since they have accepted to attend , they should listen , and then if they can they could stick him in a corner with questions that he can't answer !
and about what CU president's speech , i don't agree with many things he said , however he was talking so professionally which made ahmadi najag do nothing but to draw a foolish smile as far as i saw in ur vid !
American hospitality?! yet another American policy joke tutoring people things they're the first to violate, like human rights, learnt from Abu Ghraib prison, mass destruction weapons, learnt from the genocide of Ghaza, and freedom of speech, the american news channels are really impressive...by the way,i want to say that the Arabs who interrupted that speech are not only defending muslims of the middle east, arabs defend peace of arabs of all religions, palestinian christians are suffering too.
It's really fair enough that these Muslim students spoke out against the Israeli Ambassador. It is refreshing to see students performing their activist responsibility.
I think they were perfectly fine in what they did--college students do it over multiple issues. It is an acceptable form of protest. However comparing the Palestinian conflict to the Shoah is ridiculous. I would say it denegrates the 1.5 million Iraqi civilians who are dying in a true Shoah--compared to 2000 Palestinians in the same time frame. Palastine is a pogrom--but don't denigrate it by lying about what it is. A pogrom is certainly terrible.
As an ethnically cleansed Palestinian by Khazari Jews who currently live in my grandfather's stolen house & land. I believe that if there was justice in the US no representative of the Parasitic apartheid Zionist entity would be allowed to even speak, he should be arrested and put on trial and hopefully executed for his complicity in the crimes against humanity in PALESTINE!
True to American in/justice criminals are honored and victims are further victimized!
Need to face facts. Muslims dying in Iraq and Afghanistan is probably the least thing bothering Americans about the war. Its more unpopular because of things like the money wasted funding it, Americans being sent away from their families to die, the fact that Iraq and Afghanistan was never a legitimate perceivable threat to the US, and that its a fruitless war.
I think many Muslims living in America like to blame whats wrong with the country on Israel forgetting that it's actually Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan dropping bombs and pulling the trigger on Muslims. Its simply easier not to acknowledge all the horrible things America has actually done outside the Middle East or the fact that the majority of its people don't give a shit about the life of some Muslim brother with a beard wearing pajamas, herding goats in Afghanistan.
It was Israeli intelligence that insisted Iraq to be a threat and thereby pushed America, through its Zionist lobby groups and affiliates, to wage war on Israel's behalf.
Zionist Israel controls American politics though discrete lobby, corporate, media, and industrial groups. They're very smart about it.
If only the American people could see what is really going on here, and who really controls the politics (Zionists), the Middle East would look a lot different for the better.
@Sipahi100 hate to burst your bubble but heavily sanctioned Iraq was not a real threat to Israel nor was the Taliban remotely in the process of developing a nuclear weapons program.
America has murdered and done fucked up shit in South America, in East Asia, in all sorts of places that were of no threat or had anything to do with Israel.
@Sipahi100 Soo many American companies with their management and workers at all levels are screwing their own people and others all over the world and there isn't Israeli Jews with a cattle prods all making them do it.
Yes there are many non-Jews, as you say it, screwing over their own people, but Zionism doesn't neccessarily entail enthic Jews.
It's an ideological affiliation with the intent to establish, maintain, and protect the state of Israel. For example, there are many white American Christian evangelical Zionists.
Once people discover the political affiliations of the people that are "screwing their own people", "Zionist" will be stampled on almost each and every one of their forheads.
@Sipahi100 maintaining that politicians or corporate Americas corruptness is the result of Zionism is as irrational as blaming thier suits. Fact is the vast majority of Americans are Zionist or indifferent to Zionism. You're in the minority. Many of these people you claim with these affiliations aren't loyal to the state in any sense. They simply see it merely as a means of profit and are corrupt irregardless of it..
@Sipahi100 this greed and kind of corruption is all over the world today in states loyal, indifferent, and apposed to Israel. It has and has existed long before Zionism and will likely exist long after regardless of what any single religion says.
You attempting to equate all the corruption in the US or the rest of the world with Zionism is a mockery of history and the human condition.
Well said. Even the conspiracy theorists must feel hard pressed to find a unifying theme in their delusions--its no small wonder they chose 'zionism'=(jews) for its all encompassing historical continuity. I suppose this is how the post-modern world re-invents the devil? The fact is that special interest groups of various powers--political, governmental, military, and financial are in opposition to one another, and no single one is prepared to enact some nefarious NWO.
Good points and nice ccomparison Bret. However. I must say that Islam and Arab culture is against what those students did. The shouting and interrupting, even to an Israeli and /or ennemy is highly discouraged and uncultural for us. They could have lifted some banners expressing their views without the shouting and interrupting. I understand though that they grew up Americans.
As far the Columbia president, it's very shoking. They shouldn't have invited Najad if they were to offend him. cont..
You don't have to be Palestinian to be outraged by Israel's apartheid policies.
I hate the way the ambassador was asking the students to show hospitality, when he isn't able to show an ounce of compassion for the lives lost in Gaza.
@Yemilady ofcourse you don't have to be Palestinian to be outraged. It however looks kinda hypocritical if you go to lengths to embarass and humiliate an Israeli ambassador that you wouldn't dare do to an American politician at home when that politician is supporting or prolonging a war that has killed far more Muslims than Israel has.
Its like being a Jew in Nazi Germany who grumbles about home and only raises his voice against fascist Italy when Mussolini comes to town.
Admittedly as far as I know Ahmadinejad was still allowed to speak without such interruption.
I have to wonder though were all the 11 actually of Palestinian origin?
Its easy to do this to an Israeli ambassador but would Muslim/Arab Americans dare to try such a thing to a campus visiting US cabinet member who's infact responsible for American killing more Muslim/Arabs than Israel its 60 years?
we all know israel runs the us, its called zionism, and they dominate this country. They are the ones destroying America, do you sit there and clap your hands while foreign subversives are paraded in front of you ? no.
These Muslims had every right and are acting more like Americans then the masses of mindless brainwashed sheep that are not Muslim. Maybe you should realize this man would be tarred and feathered back in the day, he got off easy. Americans are weak cowards nowadays, Wake Up
hey I was so umm baffled there for a second.............. I was like what an ASSHOLE for that bollinger guy, he doesnt represent the opinions of americans, and the muslims students that were being disobendient in protest, I AM PROUD OF THEM! Things dont change if we let people wipe their ASS with us.
Here's the thing, there is no reason ever to interrupt a speaker even if you disagree with them. If you do disagree with them, there are always question and answer questions at these things and that is an opportunity for intelligent debate rather than to be rude about it.
in the defense of columbia U, president ahmadinejad doesn't actually understand any English LOL
srsly tho i was going to commen on this to say that I disagree with the students being uncivil towards the isreali guest, but now that I see the parallel, i dunno what to say. double standards! sheesh!
I disagree clevon , these students were american , and they did was american ! i was personally surprised at what they did and felt ashamed as this isn't the way we should treat even our enemies ! the middle east has a stellar reputation of it's tradition of hospitality !
i am pleased that you disagree because i know you are more right than i am. it is important that the world sees muslims disagree with me here...bravo,,for you and peace..

PS. please don't take this as the behavior of all arabs (notice how I didn't say muslims).
mahmoudeldiablo 1 month ago
@clevonamerica Now on to your fallacious argument-these people are shouting because he is the ambassador of a country killing their families and taking over their land. Terhans president on the other hand hasn't done anything (directly) to America. No wars or centuries of violence, only tention which is only due to america's dogmatic and insecure nature. So their judgement and reasoning isn't clouded by emotion. Moreover, you are comparing an ambassador to a president-not very intelligent of you.
mahmoudeldiablo 1 month ago

Good points dude. well articulated!
Imbeciles.

If We ALL would like World Peace today,
We must realize Islam and Arabs are just filthy shit,
God Bless US by keeping them out of the USA...
Put those muslims and arabs into a FIRE PITT!

Booing speakers off the stage and introducing people as being 'evil' is not just shameful, it is foolishness in the extreme.
If people aren't allowed to speak their minds and make their perspective heard, then there is only one option left.
War.
A lot of people - Muslims, Christians, Jews and Atheists alike - find this prospect exiting.
I am sure it will be. Untill our friends and loved-ones start taking bullets.
Consider this, warmongers.
Consider this at least.

Coming from a muslim background I feel this was very embarrassing. Muslims students should not have behaved this way, this was wrong at so many levels. They are hurting their own cause by acting like this.
Nagrami 2 years ago
@Nagrami coming from a muslim background myself, I don't agree with you about their reaction. I think they handled it very well and accordingly. Just like the example he gave, if a nazi soldier came to talk during the time of the holocaust, the jewish community would not have liked it. so in perspective, knowing that the jewish army (whether volunarily or forcfully) are distructing the homes of palestinians, I would only expect that palestinians would react this way. I aplaud them :)

open ur mind and think and read. how can u say this if u know how much muslims suffer around the world?????u r just a hypocrat. should one stay calm and say" yes, amin"
dostatdoram7 2 years ago
@dostatdoram7: Look, I understand the muslim suffering, especially the Palestenian cause. But I don't think this style of protest will produce any favorable results for Israeli-Palestenian conflict. They may feel better by doing this but only at the expense of discrediting themselve completely in the eyes of the world.
I think there are better ways to protest and get your message out. And yes, one must stay "calm" and be smart about their strategy. Showing frustration is a sign of weakness.
Nagrami 2 years ago
Of course needless to say I wouldn't invite that person into my house to begin with, but if I do, I would certainly treat him with the utmost curtsy, not because he deserves it, but because that is what my culture and religion dictates that I do.
Again, far be it for me to be criticizing what those students did. I'm only saying how I personally would have acted, and I'm not better than any of the.
psychlopes1976 2 years ago
I'm with you in principal Bret, but I personally think what the guy said about "coming into ones home" has some merit, I would have let him finish speaking before starting to raise controversial questions, and perhaps a bit of haggling. But as a Palestinian myself I do know where those guys were coming from. Like you said, it's not easy to see a representative of a community that you perceive as highly oppressive to your people being greeted with open arms.

ElderOfTzion 2 years ago

True to American in/justice criminals are honored and victims are further victimized!
iLovePalestineDotCom 2 years ago
Need to face facts. Muslims dying in Iraq and Afghanistan is probably the least thing bothering Americans about the war. Its more unpopular because of things like the money wasted funding it, Americans being sent away from their families to die, the fact that Iraq and Afghanistan was never a legitimate perceivable threat to the US, and that its a fruitless war.
WrongWorldBuddy 2 years ago
i think protesters normally go too far but at the same time black people never got their rights by asking nicely. neither will Muslims
qwertyfshag 2 years ago 8
I think many Muslims living in America like to blame whats wrong with the country on Israel forgetting that it's actually Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan dropping bombs and pulling the trigger on Muslims. Its simply easier not to acknowledge all the horrible things America has actually done outside the Middle East or the fact that the majority of its people don't give a shit about the life of some Muslim brother with a beard wearing pajamas, herding goats in Afghanistan.
WrongWorldBuddy 2 years ago
It was Israeli intelligence that insisted Iraq to be a threat and thereby pushed America, through its Zionist lobby groups and affiliates, to wage war on Israel's behalf.
Zionist Israel controls American politics though discrete lobby, corporate, media, and industrial groups. They're very smart about it.
If only the American people could see what is really going on here, and who really controls the politics (Zionists), the Middle East would look a lot different for the better.
Sipahi100 2 years ago
@Sipahi100 hate to burst your bubble but heavily sanctioned Iraq was not a real threat to Israel nor was the Taliban remotely in the process of developing a nuclear weapons program.
America has murdered and done fucked up shit in South America, in East Asia, in all sorts of places that were of no threat or had anything to do with Israel.
WrongWorldBuddy 2 years ago
@Sipahi100 Soo many American companies with their management and workers at all levels are screwing their own people and others all over the world and there isn't Israeli Jews with a cattle prods all making them do it.
Wake up!
WrongWorldBuddy 2 years ago
Yes there are many non-Jews, as you say it, screwing over their own people, but Zionism doesn't neccessarily entail enthic Jews.
It's an ideological affiliation with the intent to establish, maintain, and protect the state of Israel. For example, there are many white American Christian evangelical Zionists.
Once people discover the political affiliations of the people that are "screwing their own people", "Zionist" will be stampled on almost each and every one of their forheads.
Sipahi100 2 years ago 2
@Sipahi100 maintaining that politicians or corporate Americas corruptness is the result of Zionism is as irrational as blaming thier suits. Fact is the vast majority of Americans are Zionist or indifferent to Zionism. You're in the minority. Many of these people you claim with these affiliations aren't loyal to the state in any sense. They simply see it merely as a means of profit and are corrupt irregardless of it..
WrongWorldBuddy 2 years ago
@Sipahi100 this greed and kind of corruption is all over the world today in states loyal, indifferent, and apposed to Israel. It has and has existed long before Zionism and will likely exist long after regardless of what any single religion says.
You attempting to equate all the corruption in the US or the rest of the world with Zionism is a mockery of history and the human condition.
WrongWorldBuddy 2 years ago
@ WorngWorldBuddy

They shouldn't have invited Najad if they were to offend him. cont..
solitair1 2 years ago
You don't have to be Palestinian to be outraged by Israel's apartheid policies.
I hate the way the ambassador was asking the students to show hospitality, when he isn't able to show an ounce of compassion for the lives lost in Gaza.
Yemilady 2 years ago
@Yemilady ofcourse you don't have to be Palestinian to be outraged. It however looks kinda hypocritical if you go to lengths to embarass and humiliate an Israeli ambassador that you wouldn't dare do to an American politician at home when that politician is supporting or prolonging a war that has killed far more Muslims than Israel has.
Its like being a Jew in Nazi Germany who grumbles about home and only raises his voice against fascist Italy when Mussolini comes to town.
WrongWorldBuddy 2 years ago
Admittedly as far as I know Ahmadinejad was still allowed to speak without such interruption.
I have to wonder though were all the 11 actually of Palestinian origin?
Its easy to do this to an Israeli ambassador but would Muslim/Arab Americans dare to try such a thing to a campus visiting US cabinet member who's infact responsible for American killing more Muslim/Arabs than Israel its 60 years?
