The sequel may not have been as good as the first but it was still a pretty fun movie. I really think Chris Evans was great in both movies and I love all his roles. I just saw him in the new film “Puncture” and really enjoyed it. It had a great cast and powerful story! bitly .com/uFKgzC

Additionally, that bullshit part of the movie where he fights and destroys Galactus is also way off. The Surfer's powers come from Galactus, but only a small fraction of what Galactus has, which is infinite.
I would be more entertained if the writers had stuck with the comic books description of the characters.

I loved both films. They were frickin' awesome! Funnier then most lame films that are supposedly 'comedy'. Cool special effects and a good, awesome cast. Plus the relationships between them are good, specially Ben+ Johnny / Johnny+Sue.

Just to set things straight. Silver Surfer and Galactus were ALWAYS my Fav. comic characters wayyyy before this movie or even the cartoon came out! I'm a HUGE fan of Galactus's original humanoid form but in REAL life it would just look too ridiculous. If more people understood Quantum Physics, ALOT of fans wouldn't be bitching about his revised form in the film. It was like a combination of his ship, his tentacles, a cosmic storm, and his HEAD all in one being!
You should never try to introduce something like quantum physics when speaking about something like comic books or comic book movies. Physics don't apply to fantasy stories. Comics have thier own internal logic in which giants can occur. That's what's so cool about comics. IMO they ruined the Fantastic Four. May as well watch the one made back in the 80's - just as ridiculous. If the movie version of the Hulk met this version of the Thing it would be no contest. Maybe they can try again.
And I TOTALLY disagree with the people that bitch about Galactus NOT having been an over-grown humanoid with a big pinkish purple dorky helmet on! HELLO! It's a movie adaptation! I liked how HE was another dimensional Entity that the Surfer said in the movie was "beyond all form and understanding" and that "IF he wanted to he could take ANY form he pleased". Besides, in the end Galactuses "Core" forms into his classic comic book face! So you'll still kind of see his original form...
I just believe that the Rise of the Sliver Surfer should had been a different movie then fantastic four and that there should had follow his orign, his home planet Zenn-La, his love Shalla-Bal, Why did he serve Galactus and why from all the planet he went to, save Earth and his punishment therefore.
Like you I'm also a Sliver Surfer fan and I enjoy Fantatic Four as a movie but there was so many unanswer question and that where lie the black hole of the unknown.

HISTORY OF THE SURFER IN ONE MINUTE: When the omnipitent plantet consumer known as Galactus came to his home world, the being now known as the Silver Surfer Made a deal with Galactus in exchange for sparing his planet he would act as a herald and find other planets. Galactus infused the Surfer with the power cosmic.
Also forgot to mention that Norrin Rad's idea was to lead Galactus to suitable worlds that *did not* harbor intelligent life, but when he was infused with the Power Cosmic and became the Surfer, he forgot his former life and the motivation behind his pact.
One known weakness is Mind Control. That's how he was forced to fight the Incredible Hulk in "Planet Hulk". He was fitted with a Mind Control device. It's weird because he has Power Cosmic and it doesn't make a lot of sense since Power Cosmic also covers Mind Control.
I hope Reed and Sue get married too. They're a good couple. But I also hope to see The Thing and Alicia Masters get close, but in the comics, isn't Alicia the one who talks to the silver surfer and not Sue?

everyone thinks that when he said ' how can you fight something that eats planets?' hes talking about the surfer, just cuz thats the only dude they advertise in this. but its galactus. but i heard they made him a cloud so thats why theyre not advertising him. so, in order to make the trailer better they made it seem like they were talking about the surfer. they trick you like that with trailers.
just like in the spidey 3 trailer, they made it seem like pete was asking mj for help to remove the suit when in reality he was asking harry to help stop sandman and venom. the suit was only in the movie briefly and they based all of the trailers off of it.

In "Fantastic Four" (Vol.57), dated Dec. 1966, Doctor Doom stole Surfer's powers. Not sure how (never read it), but I remembered the reference.

Galactus as a giant cloud was fine (a giant man with a energy-sucking machine would have looked really ridiculous, like straight out of a comic book).
I think that the people hating Galactus on the screen are too narrow-minded by the comic and not willing to look a real-life situation.
I thought the movie was fine except for Jessica Alba. Everybody fit their roles except her (Ali Larter should have gotten that role).
Jessica only got it because of her name. Replace her only if they do a reboot.

I loved both films. They were frickin' awesome! Funnier then most lame films that are supposedly 'comedy'. Cool special effects and a good, awesome cast. Plus the relationships between them are good, specially Ben+ Johnny / Johnny+Sue.

i agree. was the movie fantastic >? no. but it was definately better than the first one. well the gross numbers really show it. although i was hoping FF2 would break 150 mil. it doesnt look like that riht now.and i thought the whole galactus being a huge-ass cloud was gay too. i wanted the c the human-galactus.

Just to set things straight. Silver Surfer and Galactus were ALWAYS my Fav. comic characters wayyyy before this movie or even the cartoon came out! I'm a HUGE fan of Galactus's original humanoid form but in REAL life it would just look too ridiculous. If more people understood Quantum Physics, ALOT of fans wouldn't be bitching about his revised form in the film. It was like a combination of his ship, his tentacles, a cosmic storm, and his HEAD all in one being!

You should never try to introduce something like quantum physics when speaking about something like comic books or comic book movies. Physics don't apply to fantasy stories. Comics have thier own internal logic in which giants can occur. That's what's so cool about comics. IMO they ruined the Fantastic Four. May as well watch the one made back in the 80's - just as ridiculous. If the movie version of the Hulk met this version of the Thing it would be no contest. Maybe they can try again.

And I TOTALLY disagree with the people that bitch about Galactus NOT having been an over-grown humanoid with a big pinkish purple dorky helmet on! HELLO! It's a movie adaptation! I liked how HE was another dimensional Entity that the Surfer said in the movie was "beyond all form and understanding" and that "IF he wanted to he could take ANY form he pleased". Besides, in the end Galactuses "Core" forms into his classic comic book face! So you'll still kind of see his original form...

I just believe that the Rise of the Sliver Surfer should had been a different movie then fantastic four and that there should had follow his orign, his home planet Zenn-La, his love Shalla-Bal, Why did he serve Galactus and why from all the planet he went to, save Earth and his punishment therefore.
Like you I'm also a Sliver Surfer fan and I enjoy Fantatic Four as a movie but there was so many unanswer question and that where lie the black hole of the unknown.

One known weakness is Mind Control. That's how he was forced to fight the Incredible Hulk in "Planet Hulk". He was fitted with a Mind Control device. It's weird because he has Power Cosmic and it doesn't make a lot of sense since Power Cosmic also covers Mind Control.

everyone thinks that when he said ' how can you fight something that eats planets?' hes talking about the surfer, just cuz thats the only dude they advertise in this. but its galactus. but i heard they made him a cloud so thats why theyre not advertising him. so, in order to make the trailer better they made it seem like they were talking about the surfer. they trick you like that with trailers.
