One of the main facts that FPS's on consoles were either move or shoot was because no one knew how to make them work well. What Halo introduced was a new aiming system that no one else thought of, even for PC's shooters. There are 4 major parts to the aiming system. Snapping, Acceleration, Friction, and Magnetism. Yes GoldenEye was there, but all it did to help you aim was reorient the gun.

What this video fails to mention is how with the move to consoles the user-created Mod scene is being minimized, and how DLC results from this move and is nothing more than a blatant money grab by developers. What this video fails to mention is that because of Halo, EVERY FPS LOOKS AND FEELS EXACTLY THE SAME, with only a handful of notable exceptions.

@Squeejee09 I find that most FPS's feel very different. You have different tactics and different was to use those tactics. You have kill streak rewards in CoD, and thats good. That makes it more worthwhile to stay alive and get kills, though dieing a lot will get you very annoyed. In Halo you get this ultra cool voice from beyond saying "KILLING SPREE" or so on. Also weapons are very different. With CoD you choose the guns. In Halo you find the guns. Each game takes advantage of their system.

Regenerative health only makes sense in a Halo universe. You have this futuristic armor that can reload your shields. I like in Halo reach how your health does not always regenerate unless you grabbed a health pack. In MW2 if you get shot, you should bleed out and die unless you can bandage yourself.
The non-regenerative health may be a step back in game development, but I think it fits well with the setting for Halo: Reach, since it does happen prior to Halo 1. I haven't really played Halo 2, but story-wise, the concept of regenerating health can probably be passed off as some upgrade to Master Chief's suit or something.

By the time Bungie makes their next game, the Halo Reach engine will be completely outdated. They've made a completely new engine for each game they've made (except ODST, which just modified Halo 3's).
Every engine was modified for the next. There was just drastic tools and upgrades added to each one. The main features we use in Halo 1 are still there in Halo Reach.

in HL2 you could have 6 guns a crowbar some kind of squishy thing a gravity gun hold 5 grenades and a missle launcher. i couldn't hold all that gear in real life the most I'd carry would be a shot gun, 3 grenades, a pistol and that crossbow
Halo 3 may have had the community content or the theatre but Littlebigplanet made it much better... at least on the consoles. Uncharted 2 also had hands down a much better theatre mode than Reach or Halo 3 combined. I played Reach though and it's pretty fun.

Regenerative health only makes sense in a Halo universe. You have this futuristic armor that can reload your shields. I like in Halo reach how your health does not always regenerate unless you grabbed a health pack. In MW2 if you get shot, you should bleed out and die unless you can bandage yourself.

The non-regenerative health may be a step back in game development, but I think it fits well with the setting for Halo: Reach, since it does happen prior to Halo 1. I haven't really played Halo 2, but story-wise, the concept of regenerating health can probably be passed off as some upgrade to Master Chief's suit or something.

By the time Bungie makes their next game, the Halo Reach engine will be completely outdated. They've made a completely new engine for each game they've made (except ODST, which just modified Halo 3's).

As for things such as ambience are multy core rendered through an executable that prelines it with that gui, and you now have a particle rendered 3d plain. in HL2 you could have 6 guns a crowbar some kind of squishy thing a gravity gun hold 5 grenades and a missle launcher. i couldn't hold all that gear in real life the most I'd carry would be a shot gun, 3 grenades, a pistol and that crossbow

Halo 3 may have had the community content or the theatre but Littlebigplanet made it much better... at least on the consoles. Uncharted 2 also had hands down a much better theatre mode than Reach or Halo 3 combined. I played Reach though and it's pretty fun.
