  • hahaha this song is so simple who needs lyrics?

  • When i just entered Mexico. This song was playing. I was on the horse and walking by the river. I actually literally stop galloping and got the horse to a majestic slow pace and titled the camera to face the river while following the road. The setting sun, the rushing waves and the riverbed made it perfect for a music video.

  • John Marston is my father.

  • @41soldat GTFO JACK NO ONE LIKES YOU.

  • @MisterFleshcage1 So true... and look who's talking loner.

  • fucking love this song!

  • But in fact, someone said that he saw a lot of Bob Dylan in him... well the lyrics apply on him very well! If it's a song about himself, I have nothing to say to mr Gonzalez, great job. But to all the people who would like to apply this song on a friend or else... Just think twice ;-)

  • The shivers down my spine while playing Red Dead Redemption brought me here ... :)

  • And maybe they'll come back someday, sooner that you would expect. Don't try to keep people near you... Let them leave or it will just be worst. They'll find peace of mind somewhere in their way.

  • Anyway, you shouldn't try to influence or to make people change their mind when they're just trying to be happy. If they have to run away for it, just let them run away. It's none of your business. Just live your life.

  • Coz there's no possibility of making peace anymore. Sometimes you know it'll never come, it won't ever be. It's always a bit delicate to write about others' situation when we haven't been thru' it ourselves. You cannot know when you haven't lived it. And if it's talking about someone in the near entourage, it's even more delicate. There are prejudices, rumors, things we have been told by others who can be wrong and partiality...

  • And people have to admitt it: they often have good reasons - wich doesn't mean excuses. But they're not asking for absolution. Because they usually don't believe in God anymore.

"Step infront of a runaway train just to feel alive again.

Pushing forward through the night, aching chest and blurry sight." Pushing forward through the night is a bit heavy. Insomnia isn't a question of personnal desire or will. And for the first line, sometimes it's the only solution we've got.

  • If they are a mess, they don't do it in purpose. They can't do anything else or more. It's called self-destruction and they can't escape from it all alone. But even if they often wait for someone to save them from themselves, they just keep on pushing away the people who try. So yes, so far away... Too far away. Redemption comes from the inside or don't. It's a great song but nearly useless, unfortunately...

  • i c that there were 16 of justin bieber's fans here too..

  • I connected with Marston, but then again, I bonded with the Companion Cube...

  • Yo this guy is so good, his rhymes are awesome, i see alot of Bob Dylan in him

  • John Marston is the only man who could ever look Badass whilst picking flowers

  • I'm a harsh bastard usually but I have to like this

  • John Marston is basically the ONLY video game character i ever felt a connection with, THAT is what makes a good game, i mean i guess you can kinda get a connection with Master Chief if you are a true halo fan (which i am) but something about John Marston just makes us all smile :)

  • @ghostriderrecone gotta agree, that ending personally pissed me off, and I don't ever get that invested.

  • @ghostriderrecone i guess you never played mass effect then

  • beautiful song for a beautiful game. i usually dont have a "bond" with video game characters but i felt like i was actually living John Marstons life.

  • RED DEAD REDEMPTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • anyone who gets pissed at people liking songs just because they hear it from a game or movie or w/e is retarded. Its a good song and if Jose gets more famous because a game made it popular, then why have any resentment?

  • @theomen49 The game didn't make this song popular, this was written for the game.

  • @rossidude Actually it wasn't. It's an alternate version recorded for the game, the original was done by his band JUNIP, which is waaaay more uptempo and well worth a listen.

  • Who gives a damn where you heard it? The fact is, it's a damn fine song, and you just wanted to hear it again.

  • When I heard this song in Read Dead I was like WHUUUUt Lyrics?

  • I don't give a fuck if you knew this artist before Red Dead Redemption. Thanks to the game I learned about this amazing artist..

  • He is amazing.

  • this was the first song i heard by Jose, now i have all his albums, and his singles and e.p's he is one of my favourite artists of all time, and this started with one song! it doesn't matter if you first heard him here, it matters if his music appeals to you.

  • @TheNewAgeOfDubstep Exactly!

  • LOOOL. Love what you said about the credit in the info box. <3

  • John marston pointed a gun at my head and brought me here o.o

  • I came to know about Jose Gonzalez from A state of trance. There was a remix of his song Crosses. and It was awesome.

  • My guitar brought me here.

  • ATTENTION ALL IDIOTS WHO THINK THIS SONG EXISTED BEFORE RED DEAD REDEMPTION: It didn't.

  • @juan11228811 It didit was made by Junip jose gonzalez's band

  • Raging gas brought me here

  • It's perfectly describing my situation from ... much time :/

  • Red Dead set videogames to a new level. Fuck Heavy Rain, Red Dead made a whole new gaming experience. Red Dead Redemption changed Videogames. Red Dead isnt just a "videogame", it's art.

  • @oMkRnRTz Grow up

  • @jimmymac1atak What has that to do with my comment?!

  • @oMkRnRTz wrong person

  • i repeated the entire game just to ride back into mexico and this song is absolutely perfect for it, the sun setting was just beautiful

  • @lobopatto i have done the same several times friend. i still love that part.

  • "and creds to WMG for doing nothing" Lol,

  • Never played Red Dead Redemption - I'm a fan of Junip - and was surprised to see Jose did a version of this solo.

  • Double-action Revolver brought me here. <--Game Changer ;=+

  • John marston riding through mexico brought me here

  • Having taste in music brought me here.

  • John Marston brought me here

  • @Bummville He brought us all here :D

  • Jose Gonzalez brought me here.

  • Red dead is an great game and this song is so amazing

  • looking up my name brought me here

  • Fortune brought me here

  • As much as I like this song, I can't stop thinking about Sneaker Pimps - Post Modern Sleaze when I hear the intro. Anyways, pretty good song.

  • he needs to make a song with woodkid that would be epic

  • Love

  • Mexico!

  • Thats right no Hope My friend No Hope !

  • thumbs up if you you know this song from red dead redemption :D

  • I was riding with my bike trough the night today... the fullmoon was shining on the clouds from up there.. it looked so amazing... and now i found this song and think about how perfect it match together... with this picture i have seen before...

  • >That feel when you enter Rio Bravo for the first time

  • To those idiots who have a problem with the newbies who didn't know of José Gonzalez before playing Red Dead Redemption, Grow up, no-one cares that you liked it "before it was cool".

To those came here after playing that game, congrats on knowing the difference between good and bad music.

  • @Seeto200 Too right, friend.

  • @Seeto200 lol i love jose before and then rdr came out and i love this song in the game and i didnt even realise it was done by jose ive only just realised. XD and good point mate, people are just childish :P

  • @Seeto200 I'm idiot.

  • @Seeto200 you sir are a very polite men, im agree with your comment

  • I like this. haven't heard until now

Used to play some of José's older stuff when playing Ico.

It didn't have a soundtrack but Crosses and Hints always went well with it.

  • john martin similitude

  • "Creds to Jose Gonzalez for his creativity, and creds to WMG for doing nothing." Fuck yeah, i'm tweeting this.

  • when this song came on in the game, i knew it was the best game of the decade.

  • ... SO..... How would his guitar playing be catogorized? This tune is simply masterful.

  • @simplethunder i like to catagorize it as best.

  • If you liked this, try the song ALIVE from BRIGHT SEPTEMBER

  • The part where this starts playing in Red Dead has to be one of the most epic moments in gaming history

  • @conan6400 i would have if i heard it before it was on this fucking game. Just be glad this song was featured on there :P

  • @conan6400 hmm... you do realize that this song was created specifically for that game, right?

you asking for thumbs up from people who heard this song before that game was released, is just showing how desperate you are for thumbs up, unless you're joking of course, that would really make me look like an idiot lol

  • @BoneInThaHouse touché

  • @BoneInThaHouse lmao, i know, what an epic top comment. to quote red foreman: "dumbass!"

  • @GenghisWanghis hahaha thanks dude, i love that show! ;)

  • @GenghisWanghis I Love that Show.

  • @GenghisWanghis

how do u think it feels to have my foot up ur ass???!!!!!!

  • @conan6400 lol fucking fail.

  • @conan6400 you got something against videogames? I don't think it was even released before it was in red dead anyway.

  • @conan6400 Dumbass lol

  • @conan6400 you are to cool.

  • @conan6400 EPIC FAIL!

For the record...Red dead Redemption is a great game!

  • @conan6400

conan6400 has found: Ribbon award; SUPER TROLL

    Fuck you

  • @TheSwedishSvensken Not trolling, just retarded lol

  • @conan6400 Your such a fucking dipshit bro......No Hope.

  • @conan6400 :-D

  • @conan6400 hmph... fail

  • @conan6400 and why would it matter that it was on a video game? because its on a video game it makes the song worse? not at all true. your a hipster go troll somewhere else

  • When driving into the sunset/rise in the middle of nowhere, this kind of music must come out your speakers...

  • @hewasarehtard I second that man. It one of those 'into the sunset' kinda songs.

  • Loving this

  • i got 0:00 to 5:18 as my ringtone

  • RIP John Marston

  • @brokrishnan GODDAMNIT

  • @WookiePUBE This. People should try to not spoil everything!

  • Is crosses the only song he written himself?

  • I listen this song when i cross the Mexico. This song just change RDR of a Good game for a Great Game. I love both RDR and his songs <3

  • Red Dead Redemption brought me here

  • @nobleteamspartan073

    no shit sherlock

  • @joacopela95 wtf is ur problem

  • Hah great description

  • He's as good as Bob Dylan in a different way - here, he does remind me very slightly of Fleetwood Mac's song 'Hypnotized', but his style is hard to pin down. Thank you so much for posting this.

  • hearing this song in rdr just made me stop running my horse and caused me to stop and ponder before choosing to walk my horse along with the Mexican sunset, no matter what happened in the game this song settled for me that rdr is the best of 2011

  • @longshoe96 ..Exact same thing, was one of the best game moments ever

  • @electricdaudow the game Bastion has a great soundtrack, that's very similar to the feel of this song. But check out Gary Jules: Mad World I think you would love that song, same vibe as this one.

  • ich hatte einen ohrgasmus ! :D

  • @AlohaOeea ah jetzt weiß ich was die großen jungs zu der musik machen *lachflash*

  • @AlohaOeea O_O

  • @JimmieCricket94 but Canada fought in WW1 so he couldnt really go there to dodge the draft.

  • @ElectricDaudow teardrop by jose

  • @JimmieCricket94 I think having Jack drafted would ruin the game and take away from what it should be. Either make it a prequel, before John settled down with his family, or a new character all together. It needs to stay western.

  • i just got past thatpart on red dead redemption

  • I don't remember this in Red Dead Redemption :/

  • @FlopsyDiggins its when you are riding into mexico.

  • @FlopsyDiggins It plays when you get to Mexico for the first time!

  • great sond, though it makes me sad... but best song i've heard in a while. it is EPIC, i saved my game right before mexico so this way i could keep hearing it over and over if i wanted, haha. sad, but its that good.

  • 10 dislikes= Big Call of Duty geeks= fuckers

  • If Rockstar games makes something, they make it right.

  • @RockStar51588 I totaly agrre with you, because Rockstar is the only one (as far as i know) which keeps making games as they want, and not so they can sell to many like COD... games like COD arre made to make money from the 12 years old kids, RDR is game for the Elite class of gamers.

  • Comment removed

  • @RockStar51588 oh who gives a shit man this is a song not a soundtrack

  • Just heard this on RDR as the sun was setting and I was riding to see Landon Ricketts. As said by @greengiant93 it made a good game great. Set the scene perfectly. Jose is a genius.

  • my friend sang this for his musical audition! he got in!

  • I saw the moonrise as previously stated, but my horse was attacked by coyotes, and as soon as I got off to kill them, the song was cut short abruptly. Now I'm here trying to hear the ending

  • This song set the tone of the intro to mexico part so well. I could actually feel what John Marston was would have been feeling. This part changed it from a good game to a great game for me.

  • I can't believe that Rockstar made L.A. Noire instead of Red Dead Redemption 2!?

  • @TheSushiNerd Lern2RockstarGames. It's not a single developer, ya know.

  • @TheSushiNerd red dead redemption is the second in the series. red dead revolver was the first. and since red dead redemption the wild west was dying it wont make no sense to have another one after the wild west was dying

  • @Thomasgamer911 Actually, the old west technically existed for another six years and many parts of the west remained that way after 1920 as well and well into the Dustbowl.

  • i was entering mexico at night and saw the moon rise over these wonderful rocks and hills in the desert...

Riding into the moon with this music... *--* great!

  • @Punkrock1807 I saw it when the sun rose. IMO Sunrise is better then the moon :P

  • The best five minutes I spent walking my horse, ever.

  • Wow. Just wow. What a great song. The line proclaiming, "Step in front of a runaway train, just to to feel alive again," sends shivers down my spine. Not a lot of lyrics in modern music can capture the atmosphere of truth, but this song does that so well. Of course, the first time I heard it was on RDR during the Mexico chapter. What a perfect moment.

  • I love John Marston. The best game just b.c you play his son! Then you get to get revenge .... The best ever...!

  • @imalegend010 You think so, too? For some odd reason, a lot of people don't like Jack or having to play as Jack. I, personally, really like Jack and think he should be a protagonist in his own story. Why? I like educated western characters. Like Gus McCrae in Lonesome Dove. Even if they don't remember everything they learned or they are only smarter than the people around them, these types are just the best:)

  • John Marston lost character of the year to Woods from black ops, whose only dialogue was "FOR BOWMAN", and then he died

    That is such bullshit

  • @KoldBloo Are you talking about 2010? Because he got second to GLaDOS, if I remember correctly. I might be wrong. I'll have to dig through my old GIs, just to be sure. If that's true, though, you're absolutely correct. That is bullshit. But I'm not a COD fan to begin with (mostly because I like story in a game and can't stand playing with other people), so maybe my opinion is unfair.

  • @BethBAMF CoD has singleplayer you know, no other people, and quite good story...

  • @Arnechk Maybe. I haven't really ventured as far as to even acknowledge the single player, that's true. But I have a lot of friends who play COD, and they all say not to bother with it. Besides, it's a pretty generic war story that doesn't really appeal to me. I also just tend to shy away from shooters. I can play them, of course. There isn't a video game that I won't play at least once. But I always find shooters to be a bit dull. I guess I'll just have to see for myself.

  • @KoldBloo There is a lot of Character of a year elections guys, that was only a one of those...

  • @KoldBloo Thats an outrage!

  • @KoldBloo True, but Red Dead still brought home "Game of the Year" and this got "Best Song".

    So take that, Black Ops.

  • @sparrowsanzo I love RDR, but I think Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 will become ''Game of the Year''

  • @jezkon HA! one word my friend, Skyrim ;)

  • @jezkon no. no it wont. bf3 and rdr have life. cod feels limp and cold to me. im a heavy gamer. trust me. I KNOW. :) no rudness i meant here, dont worry.

  • @TheBHP11 How many people in this sad world are playing CoD ? Millions ! how many people are playing RDR ? Thousands. How many people are playing Battlefield ? Only you and a couple of guinea pigs.

  • @KoldBloo Are you serious? What the fu... Fucking americans must have been the judges in that contest.

  • @KoldBloo inacurate, although it is bs, he had much more dialouge than "For Bowman" and was Masons main helper and guide through the journey

  • @KoldBloo Money talks... and lies.

  • can someone help me find that picture on google images? i want it as a wallpaper :( please

  • @j4rhead9 go to yahoo images and look up far away.

  • @IIIDirtyDeedsIII thanks man

  • Riding into Mexico with this playing absolutely made the game for me

  • I feel bad for the person who falls off of a cliff, while riding to Mexico, listening to this song. No other game has ever done something like this that brought me closer to the moment. A++ work Red Dead and Jose.

  • Thumbs down if you heard this song on red dead redemption

  • So relaxin. Can just chill to this while shooting people with my Schofield

  • @dicksi12345

    get yourself a mauser
