  • Newt and I agree on nothing. However...my taxes are being spent, so I would like to say that Newt may be an idiot, but teaching people to speak proper English in the US is more cost effective than teaching in a multitude of other languages. So if one is not born here, one should learn to speak English, which has always been the language of this country. Foriegn language classes are usually available for English speaking citizens, if they choose to learn another language.

  • Ok it may not be politically correct to say what he said, but think about it. Can you really become a millionaire in the US by just being able to speak, Creole, Spanish, or Chinese. He didn't specify any particular ethnic group he just said its important to learn English. I would bet my life-savings that the top 100 richest Americans all speak English.
