  • Katelynnbc, are you even from a Native community in the rural/ ranching Northern Plains. In any case, all cultures must continue to change to stay current. Its ok for dances to change and adapt to current lifestyles, which in the central Dakotas is heavily impacted by ranching. This is a dance honoring an Indian cowboy who passed away. His relatives came together ti honor him in this way. Its one of the more creative dance styles I have seen emerge in my lifetime. No disrespect.
