I live in a rural area and ride my horses all the time. The only way to get to the fields/trails is to cross a road. Most people are good around them; I've had some people pull over - sometimes even turn the engine off! Once, however, heading uphill and around a corner on the bridge to let my older horse see some other horses, someone pulled the car right next to him (could've touched the window), didn't slow down, and laid on the horn! Poor guy took forever to get over car fears after that...
@Lantaur94, horses are old hat. They don't need to be used on the road anymore. And even if they are, the horses in the ad were going double-file. Cars don't do that, horses shouldn't.
Yes I have got a motorist comment. I wish some of the motorists out there would have some respect for Horse & Rider, unfortunately the total idiot driver on the 16th January 2011 killed a women on horse back and killed both the horses too there you go a motorist comment I have made.. Horses were on the road long before the motorist, so in my books motorist should take second place over Horses and yes I am a motorist too
I only see horse lovers comments on here. Two of mine were ignored, becuase I'm a motorist. How about some motorist comments? You horse people are just as bad. You abuse your right of way, most of the time. Does old saying, GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE ring any bells?
WHY DONT THEY SHOW THESE VIDEOS WHEN YOUNG KIDS LEARN TO DRIVE AS MIGHT START TO RE EDUCATE PEOPLE AND NOT LET OTHER IDIOTS DO STUPID IRESPONSIBLE THINGS LIKE THIS , NEED TO RESPECT THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
remember this ad well! this was only shown in the late hours when tv stations like to broadcast PIFs instead of normal adverts. Shame, this should have found it's way onto the proper time of day.
It was removed from national transmission because they realised it has absolutely zero relevance to the huge number of people who live in the city and will never be anywhere near a country lane, let alone horses.
But then, that probably means they're uneducated and inexperienced enough for this message to matter. Hmm.
I completley agree. Its the inner city folk who visit the country in their holidays that possibly need the message more than the country folk themselves.
Okay so a bit of a sweeping generalisation, but I do think this advert needs to come back onto the tele.

This is such a good advert, should still be on tv. Some people really need to learn how to drive around horses.
