Marriage is bad for all:

Consider the problems of legally-enforced monogamy (marriage). Is it truly human nature to select one mate for life? Like most primates, we seem to prefer more variety. Yet our laws punish us for "infidelity" (ex: in divorce settlements). Marriage turns our government into copulation police. Honestly, does anyone have the right to govern how you use your genitals? I'm not against equal rights but I think ANY marriage is bad. They result in unfair tax advantages over singles. When people divorce, they can unfairly claim assets they never earned. It would be so much better if there was no such thing. People would be more reasonable with each other if they did not feel so securely chained to their spouse and half (if not more) of their spouses assets. Marriage is a religious pact designed to raise kids in the same faith. It is getting old.

The real problem is that religious organisations dictate to us that their ignorant, prejudiced ceremonies are 'the important part' of a union, and have commandeered the word 'marriage' for themselves.

What must be done is to completely separate the church ceremony from the socially and legally important part - the marriage contract.

It is something that exists in nature, and therefore cannot be deemed 'unnatural', and if you then think in regard to human nature, yet again it has always existed in all human (civil or otherwise) societies.

If you then think that sure it is natural but it is abnormal behavior then explore what abnormal behavior is. Ex. writing with your left hand is abnormal behavior, does this mean that left handed people shouldn't be allowed to write? are they unloveable?
