  • WOW!! This is amazing! Thank you sooo much :D I can tell this is gunna be great.

  • Love it!!!!!Thanks for posting, this is a gem.

  • Legendary!!!

  • I think the only really weak link here was Michele Lagrange. When did the part of Alice begin to be sung by mezzo-soprano? I know many 19th century sopranos sang it- such as Jenny Lind and created a sensation, but it seems a supporting role as presented here. marvelous production. It is a bit long. I think it would be difficult for it to be done often due to a lack of singers up to the demands of Robert, Bertram, and Isabelle.

  • @semiramide1945 I don't think it's true that we're lacking the necessary singers to do Robert le Diable today. We have some wonderful Bel Canto practitioners, such as Ciofi or Orgonasova, Tenors such as John Osborne or Woo Kyung Kim, Abdrazakov for Bass? No. Agency and opera house politics, celebrity obsessed casting and economics is keeping the historical gems out of the major houses. FYI Alice is the supporting soprano, she appears very little in the score after the first two acts.

  • @peteradaniel Well it is planned for december at ROH with Diana Damrau as Isabelle and as far as I know with Juan Diego Florez. But it's rumoured he has given back his part. But I am very looking forward how that production is going to be. Think Diana could make a special night with this kind of music.

  • Thank you thank you for this!! So much clearer than my own copy recording!

  • one of the greatest night I ever spent in the theater a little long, but what great opportunities for the singers
