Cant anyone sing like this anymore? Why are all of todays singers 15-17 years old and sound like they are in pain when they polute the air with their 'songs'?
This and all of Jo Stafford's songs are "under-viewed" here on You Tube. Lots of folks are missing a great pop singer of the 50s and 50s. Just looking at the titles reminds me of how popular she was and with good reason.
I sure miss music like this..great lyrics and melody...I think Jo Stafford had such a neat voice..everything she sang was a pleasure to listen to..I think the thing I miss the most about this music is the time it represented in our country
I just love Jo Staffords voice. I could pick it out by just the first word she sings. I was born in 1947, on new years eve, and grew up listening to all this beautiful music. Even though I was a member of The Saint in N.Y. during the eighties, I hold this music deep in my soul.
I was born in '46 and as a young boy, I would hear Jo Stafford and even at that tender age, I was enchanted by her smoky smoky voice. I listen to her today and her voice is as EXQUISITE as ever. What an enormous talent the woman has.
@silverdub25 I agree, she sounds like a dream. Another great version of this song is by Johnny Desmond with the Glenn Miller orchestra. Could anyone post it please. I've been looking for it for years. It's from the album "Once upon a time".
Great! But Martha Tilton's version is much better.

Faultless. For needle sharp tone, purity of sound and sexiness of voice she is unmatched.
