  • Great! But Martha Tilton's version is much better.

  • Faultless. For needle sharp tone, purity of sound and sexiness of voice she is unmatched.

  • love it

  • Cant anyone sing like this anymore? Why are all of todays singers 15-17 years old and sound like they are in pain when they polute the air with their 'songs'?

  • This and all of Jo Stafford's songs are "under-viewed" here on You Tube. Lots of folks are missing a great pop singer of the 50s and 50s. Just looking at the titles reminds me of how popular she was and with good reason.

  • I'm in the 9th grade but I love this song and the great Jo Stafford

  • Very evocative. I love it.

  • Songs like this got folks though though the war...thanks, Jo

  • A Great voice from an age when our nation was great.

  • I sure miss music like this..great lyrics and melody...I think Jo Stafford had such a neat voice..everything she sang was a pleasure to listen to..I think the thing I miss the most about this music is the time it represented in our country

  • My Grandpa is showing me this song for the first time...AMAZING! Thanks for posting!

  • @Pancrestus

He made you say that, didn't he?

  • @thot4 Lol, no twisting of the arm here. It´s a great song :)

  • @Pancrestus

    :)

  • I just love Jo Staffords voice. I could pick it out by just the first word she sings. I was born in 1947, on new years eve, and grew up listening to all this beautiful music. Even though I was a member of The Saint in N.Y. during the eighties, I hold this music deep in my soul.

  • Ah !! What a treasure this is.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful post, which i have added to my Jo Stafford "Playlist".

  • I was born in '46 and as a young boy, I would hear Jo Stafford and even at that tender age, I was enchanted by her smoky smoky voice. I listen to her today and her voice is as EXQUISITE as ever. What an enormous talent the woman has.

  • What a cool song

  • such is the soundtrack of my life.

  • Beautiful video. respect.

  • A terrific song, exquisitely sung by a marvellous singer--thanks

  • @silverdub25 I agree, she sounds like a dream. Another great version of this song is by Johnny Desmond with the Glenn Miller orchestra. Could anyone post it please. I've been looking for it for years. It's from the album "Once upon a time".

  • I don't know how you can listen to this performance and not be moved. It makes me misty-eyed.

  • This is one of the great songs of WWII and sung just perfectly by a great singer. God's speed Jo we'll miss you!
