I drove the Sonata, and thought it was fine, but I wanted to test drive the Camry first. The toyota salesman told me I couldn't test drive the Camry unless I was ready to buy that day, so I left the lot. Toyota, tell your salesman Johnny at Elk Grove Toyota he just lost a customer-bad service. I'm buying the Sonata.
just to tell you guys, motor trend is a good magazine but it sucks at comparing... obviously, the toyota should be even worse then the honda accord and the ford is overrated. in my opinion and i drove all these cars, i think the hyundai has great ride quality and it is really fast for a mid-sized sedan.
You people can say all you want about how much you hate the Camry. But the reality is, that for most people, a reliable, well built, quiet, comfortable car is what they are looking for. They don't care about figure 8 times, 0-60, 1/4 mile, horse power this, torque that. They just want to get in it and have it start every day and get them to where they want to be safely and comfortably. And looking at the Camry for that perpective (what 95% of people do) it fits that role perfectly.
Definitively Toyota was full of mistery until the moment of unvealing the new 2012 Camry that happened today. The result?: For me it was very dissapointing because the design is totally lack of creativity. Have you seen the botton part of front grille? That´s awfull cause does not match with nothing around, the rounded fog lights placed in a triangle filled with plastic or chrome. Tail lights are HORRIBLE! Do they were short on budget? Lights are incomplete for me ;(
I recently rented a camry and sonata in the same week. The Camry was far less satisfying to drive. I actually hated driving the Camry. I liked the Sonata so much I may purchase one.
It's the best selling because it's genuinely a great car. If VW/Audi can get over its quality control issues, it may have a chance in the US market to battle Toyota/Lexus. Scratch that. VW/Audi sucks balls.
