you can control the music through the ipod if you want right? im having mine connect thru the back and mounted on my dash and im wanting to choose music thru my ipod instead of the deck, i can do this right? (while it charges too?)
so when u turn off the deck. does all that like information still be on? like where it shows all the features and stuff? that would be annoying i hope it could FULLY go off.

The Head Unite fully controls your iPod. Or at least it did mine. Gen 6 iPod aka iPod Classic Gen. 1. It should be able to fully control your iPod as long as its is plugged into the USB.
Allow me to rephrase my question - When you plug your iPod into the headunit, does it recharge the iPod's battery while the iPod is actively playing a song?
Yes, there are 4 animated background. When you use then you can't seen any of the information unless you hit the info button. 4 static backgrounds, they let you have limited info. And 4 ish backgrounds that let you see Radio station info or song/iPod info. The one I'm using right now has little +++++++ as the background and the Radio station is seen at all times as will as my iPod info.

Yes you will be able to control your iPod.
But only If you use the headphone jack.
Honestly I've never tried to control the iPod wile it was plugged in to the data/power jack.
From what I can tell every time you plug in the data/power jack it starts charging.
