I don't think that the balance wheel is too small...it's not much smaller than the ones used in most standard movements.

Its to bad that the creator of the "Co-Axial" escapment, Dr. Daniels, could in no way have forseen that his remarkable achivement (intellectual overkill in my mind), would in a few years, be rendered redundant and mabey, from a pragmatic standpoint, usless with Patek's introduction of the silicon escape wheel.

The invention of another escapement does not render an older one useless. Just different. Like different machines. Some may be better, some may not.

I dont think Patek's silicon escape wheel is all that special. I don't think the co-axial is either.

The last true innovative mechanical watchmaker was Beguet anyway.
