i was thinkin about putin HIDs in my 97 taurus i want like 8k but since my car is old i dont know if the housein will blind pplz can anybody help me thanks
@bostonguy01 Yea, you taurus doesnt have projectors on it so it'll be blinding to other drivers.... but if you are like all the other civic drivers on here and dont care about the saftey of others, then either get a 4500k or 5000k 35w kit from ddmtuning . com
@kjwade i do care about the safety and stuff so im just goin wait until my secound car get HIDs maybe newer car or something because i got friend who has scion TC and he has 8k and those things light up the whole road lol
TSX are great projectors, but you would get more light if you went with lower temperature bulbs. Those look about 8K, if you swap them for 4.3K or 5K you would have much easier time on wet roads.
not necessarily, some cars with a lens housing will handle a hid conversion kit better than a car with the bigger reflecting set-ups. although any change is illegal you are better off swapping hid into a lens because of how high the light will be projected. older cars have much worse designs and will send out light too high and if you replace it with an hid then you will surely be blinding others. the prius is a good example of a reflector housing that can handle hids. the light is
specifically aimed lower than a car with a similar housing but regular halogen lights. also Volvo's (not including the S40) have hid lights in a larger reflecting housing and aim the farthest point only 45-50 feet from they are obviously keeping that car's light-up modest to ensure it doesn't blind anybody.
@7NaYRu7 i literally just bought some for my car and they are great. they are from trips custom sales. they are everything i thought they would be and of very good quality. i didn't really want to do ebay but i got these 35W ones for 57 dollars. which is pretty good in my book. let me know if you need anything else.
the small round lights are called lens housings and the larger refracting housings are called reflector set-ups. it seems like a projector but the true term is lens.

Finaly someone who did it correctly with projectors! Great job man!
Not like some momma's short lil gays who r driving arround with hollywood lampheads blinding others, thinking "wooow, how cool I am!"
Only thing I would do different here with my civic is put 6000K - this is to bluish for my taste :)
