lets settle this: Jailbreaking itself is not illegal, as modifying software is perfectly legal as long as you don't gain a profit, so the cydia store in some sense is illegal. However, downloading cracked apps is illegal, so using installous or other app downloaders is illegal. If you break your jailbroken iphone/ ipod touch, remember that your waranty is void if it has jailbroken software. A void warranty and illegal are different. Also, as many have said, if you buy it its yours.
