This reminds me of my parents Cadillac but they just had the Sedan DeVille 75 model. Same colors! It was one mean machine. It took bumps like they weren't even there and plenty of big power. I'd love to get my hands on one of these...I own a 95 fleetwood and I want an older one such as this or a 72 model....damn America still built well then.....I hate these little pissy cars today.
Now thats what you call a car! My Dad had a '76 Sedan deVille in Phoenician Ivory and I loved that car. I've wanted to purchase '76 Fleetwood for a long time. My favorite!
This brings back great memories. I had a Royal Blue 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham 60 Special with folding rear footrests. It had almost every option that was available, including Electronic Fuel Injection. It passed everything on the highway except a gas station. I loved that car.
@sonick808 thats what GM called its velour in the fleetwood cadillac... the talisman had a console between the seats...similar setup on GM's park avenue edition of the electra 225
First Car: 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham, Firemyst Blue, White Top, White Leather, Footrests, Opera Lights, 501 cubic inch V8 engine, 1941 Caddy "flying lady" hood ornament. Fit 13 people in it @ college orientation. Beat every car I ever raced with it except a '55 Chevy with nitro- no fair. Top speed- 145mph. Still have dreams of finding that car & restoring it. What a ride! Nicknamed "The Whale."
Holy smokes, you're the same guy who owns that '79 Lincoln?! I want your life.
I had a yellow 76 DeVille sedan as my first car, back in 87. My dad worked at a dealership and got it cheap. It was light yellow with yellow leather. Beautiful!
Sadly I was rearended by a truck and it was ruined, but after that I got a MINT 74 DeVille. Drove that for 2-years and decided I couldn't afford the gas any longer. Went Honda and never looked back.
I sure miss the big Caddys though. Miss 'em like crazy.
I seen your lincoln video, and it's all about cadillac and thats one nice Fleetwood Brougham you got there. Man in 76, thats what the president rolled in. Nice Car!!!!!!
would it be possible for you to email your slide show as I need to see if there are any parts missing from my own. The white leather seating is ok but I would love a new blue steering wheel as the existing one is cracked and the imitation wood surround decal is almost disappearing. thanks
My car looks the same color as corpusclex's 1974 Cadillac.Only my top is white and I have a gold interior.Just bought 26, 8 tracks to listen to.Including "SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER" lets boogie HA HA.
Jonesh my car is copper colour like fire mist? it has 120,000 miles of coarse up here in Canada it has some rust on the fender skirts inside and inside bottom doors But it is a Fleetwood.I've had it for 6 years and love the ride until I moved here near Vancouver where they Air Care the cars and I Failed last Fall because no Catylitic Getting one on Wednesday and new Monroe Shocks. My car has no passenger mirror. Did they come like that, that year? I think it would be good to have one.
Beautiful car.I have a 1975 Fleetwood Brougham Talisman.I am missing the back passenger side outside plastic lens opera light? Anyone know where I can get one and a passenger mirror? Thanks from Canada
The Talisman was quite a special car indeed. What color is yours? I have a fondness for the color Rosewood which was not offered in '76. How many miles on your car? Have you had it long? I have cabinets full of parts including those that you seek. I have friends who own a junkyard and I always clean out what is still useful on retired Cadillacs before they crush them. I love Caddys!
Yes, we can. Please bear with me as I am putting in extra time at work. I saw your responses yesterday and want to talk to you. I would like to hear more about your car. I will write you this evening.
Last of the breed....this '76 Fleetwood weighed in at 5213 lbs and available with an electronic fuel injection. These cars represented the height of American luxury in the 70's and sadly the end of an era. I think what has suppressed the collectibility of many great cars from this era is the lack of parts availability. Too bad.....I would rather have one of these oldies any day versus a new model.
Wow, just like I remember. We had one of these when I was only seven, it was nearly new. It was grey with leather. My dad sold it five years later. I love your car! Hope it's around in 20 years.
WOW What a beautiful car, I like the plushy velour also, something you can't get today. I love Cadillac's, I currently have a 1990 Brougham, my last 1 was a 1990 Brougham d'Elegance with plushy blue interior. I've had 20 Cadillac's so far.
THAT A REAL ROAD BOAT GOTTA LOVE take good care of her there just ain't that much on the road of those these days and not in that great of a condition WOW lol i'm sure a smart car would fit in the trunk
That's a wonderful Cadillac, I have a 1989 FW Brougham that I love to drive & look after. I'll try to post photos or short video soon, it's a beauty :)
man, those wire wheels are getting hard to find these days.my mother and father owned a cream colored 1976 Sedan DeVille with 500 big block V8.they put a set of those wire wheels on their car,but somebody stole one of them.man,i miss that car.
I'm very careful of where I park if I take the car out. I never leave it unattended. The hub caps and hood ornament are getting very hard to find in a condition suitable for use. I have another set of the hub caps that are correct for my car that I keep wrapped and stored in the garage. I found two additional hood ornaments as well. I enjoy the car very much and take pride in looking after it. To me, it is what a Cadillac should be.
nice car, mine looks almost identical. Mines a 76 cadillac talisman brougham. The interior is almost mint and i love the seats! but wow it is a beautiful car, when i get the body fixed up i can't wait!
Lovely car.....truly elegant....I own a '76 Caprice Classic right now but can't find parts for it...I found a 1976 Fleetwood Brougham today that's in great shape and the guy said he would sell it for $400.00....it's a dark midnight blue with a blue top with 67,546 miles on it....I'm thinking the Caprice might hit the road...
These are wonderful aren't they? My car has 21K on it now. The Brougham d'Elegance was quite plush. I like them. What color is yours? Did it come with optional fuel injection? Enjoy your Caddy. They only become more special as time goes by.
I'll post a really lame video I made ( I have no idea how to do this here) that's a walk around with my Cadillac and my Buick--both low mileage boats that I love.
My Fleetwood is a firemist green bire with matching color interior. Rare to see the green like that for Cadillac. It is a carb. I have a friend with a 76 Castillian wagon that's only 25K miles and fuel injected. Love to have that one!
Thank you. You are right- this is the last year for this body style. The Eldorado survived two more years until it went on a diet in '79. I'm afraid we will not see anything with these magnificent proportions again.
Did you set out to buy examples of the last of the largest US cars made before the downsized models? I don't know why, but I'm fascinated by the largest US cars of the 70s, like your '79 Lincoln and '76 Cadillac, and by the max-downsized GM models of the mid-80s, the almost compact-sized 80s Cadillac deVilles, Olds 98s, and Buick Electras.
Thank you. Congratulations! I'm so glad you got yourself a Town Car. Will you be posting it? I also have an '89 Town Car. I bought that one for two reasons- It is the last year for that body style and it is also the year I graduated from high school! Enjoy your Lincoln!
