The action in the movie was good. The historical accuracy is so bad its insulting. (not really just joking) The spartans wore armor over all of there body, the only exception being the back of the neck and arms.

The movie is an entertaining action movie with great special effects. However to say that this film was historically accurate is downright laughable. Anybody with any knowledge of iranians knows that the spartans look more persian than the persians themselves! Overall a cool film though.

...are you serious? This one of the 10 best movies i've ever seen. Film is a visual art and way too people get caught up trying to justify "cool" shit and it ends up being lame. This movie isnt a sandwich, its just a slab of meat, the only part you want in the sandwich. Honestly there was too many political scenes and i think that hurt the pascing a little. But this is a 10 outta 10! its a wholly original visual master peice and a cultural phenominan

1) 300 great action movie

2) Script ehh could have been better

3) not historically correct but close enough

1) you referenced a military strategy as a sexual gesture "Phalanx" the block and poke works

2) Spartans did dress like that at times what you called a speedo and cape

3) There is symbolism with the body types... Spartans rocking body could mean perfection and precision, and the persians being deformed showing their evil and cowardice side.

This movie is very good to watch. That's ironic to notice the american values there such as the color of spartans, the war of Eastern against Western, going to war for freedom and protection of their people and so on.
