great song I been looking this song for a long time my brother gave me a casset this song as backgraund and others songs would come out in beetwen. I use to play it every night. thanks for posting it.
Astounding work! This has always conjured up visions of someone slowly emerging from a dream -- as if the unconscious mind was like an ocean with a diver gradually coming to the surface. I dedicate Day After Day to the memory of My True, Darling, and Eternal Love -- My Wife, Barbra Jean "Rose" Ragan. Barbra left this world after a valiant battle with cancer on Nov. 21/22, 2010. Barbra, you and I WILL be together forever! I also dedicate Day After Day to the kids who lost their parents on 9/11

"Nucleus" is a song I could listen to for hours while staring up at the stars. Parsons and Woolfston were truly gifted at capturing an essence of space and mysticism.
such a beautiful song.i have been a loyal fan for many years.if your having a bad day just put alan parsons on.and drift slowly into trancquiltty, peace,
Hopefully one day when I'm older I will come across this song again and fully understand its meaning. I will Look back and hopefully feel that I used the time on my side well, grabbing as many stars as I could.
"We will call it ... 'The Alan Parsons Project." " 'The Alan's Parson's Project' was a band formed in the 70s you dumbass." Haha! From Austin Powers. :D
What a great tune! It still holds up after all these years and means as much as it did when I was a kid. Didn't build any castles but I guess I can't complain about how things turned out. Managed to reach out for a couple of stars anyway. Growing up wasn't all that sad. Still time to reach for a few more stars before the old ticker goes out (or my back does).
I always listen to this tune when driving down in the woods near my town. Every time I'm in the area I have to put the CD in and skip to this part. :)
I was talking to the Astronomy teacher at my high school and he says likes to listen to music like this and Pink Floyd when he star gazes. I think it is pretty cool.
I remember when I bought the vinyl in 77 from Musicland. Still have it. Recently I opened it and a seed rolled out! Remember how we used to use the album covers to clean our dope? Hell, that seed had to be at least 30 years old...
I always like the way APP melds one song into the next. This is one of my favorites, besides Voyager/What goes up and Sirius/Eye in the Sky..thanks for the post... beautiful..
I can't believe this song is not on the "Definitive Compilation" album, it is probably my favorite by them (along with "I wouldn't want to be like you" and "Days are numbers")
I had just graduated from high school the first time I heard day after day and I began to understand it immediately and only more so at 50. Funny that the drummer is Stuart Tosh and the bassist is Dave Paton who were members of Pilot but then Parson was Pilot's producer so I guess that makes sense. Eric Woolfson sings this I think. He was great for someone who was a lawyer by trade and had never sang professionally.
Back when I first heard "Day After Day" in my mid-20s I appreciated the gorgeous music but I wasn't remotely mature enough to truly feel the impact of the words. Now I'm 56, my mom and dad have passed away and my children have their own lives and homes and families. I think in this song the APP tapped into that universal feeling of regret which is a part of what makes us human. "Day After Day" has aged extremely well and now actually sounds better than ever. Thanks for the post.
I been thinking about this for a long time, the only way I'm going to get anybody to cry at my funeral is to play this song. Of course, that's assuming anybody will be there.
Chilled, loved and cried to these songs. This was the first CD when I finally got a CD player that I bought. I wore out tapes (cass and 8-track) and vinyl of their music many times. They were so underrated and appreciated. Hint for another band, Michael Stanley. Same time frame, same underrating.
Listened the two songs (together all the time) when I was a kid, from my elders'Vinyl LPs. Then continued to listen the two on tapes during my teenies and my early twenties, but loosed their track for about two decades. Today, after almost 20 years I'm about to cry, now they sound sooo meaningful...
REALLY INSPIRING MASTERPIECES FROM THE 70'S!! You raised from oblivion a beautiful piece of my past. Thanks a lot for posting.
Excellent! Further testimony to the quality of the music from yesteryear. Brilliant! (I got this album for Christmas the year it came out- still rocks my world).

I have always loved this LP and these two tracks in particular. It's so great you have finally posted both of them in sequence, continuously, as they were recorded on the album. Listening it it brings back wonderful memories of days gone by and halcyon youth. The vocals and instrumentation are brilliant, poignant, and beautiful. They let your mind float upstream to a comforting place. Thanks!
This is VERY impressive for 1977.
