There is nothing stopping anyone giving all their music away. We have the internet, so it means anyone can get their hands on it. It costs nothing to download it, and nothing to upload it. it's not just about how much money you make. you giving away all your music for free says to me that you don't think it's good enough for people to actually spend money on. some upcoming bands need record sales to support themselves.

Toms idea is "MEH", they can do that at myspace. Radiohead was gonna sell the physical copies no matter what, they announced it beforehand. The pay what you want was a "cool experiment" plus you wer able to get their music B4 the album came out. I payed $0 first but i loved the album so much i went back and payed $22-something.

I think record sales going down is a good thing, at least when it comes to these huge corporate bands. The corporations ("record labels") who sponsor these guys are in it for the money; they're not afraid to rape the music for profit and I think with sales going down some of these greedy businessmen might leave music and move onto something else. Maybe we can finally have a pop music industry with integrity?

That's the point. Why can't we hear of bands through word of mouth. I want to hear from my buddy that this new band is out and I can hear some of their stuff on their website, and then buy it if I like it. The internet is all the publicity that you need. Bands don't need MTV, bands need hard work, touring, and word of mouth...and access to the album over the net. Good musicians don't need big labels.

To be truthful, I kinda like Angels better. Radiohead's my favorite band though. But Blink's first 2 albums were pretty kickass though. But I never thought of them as a punk band, but rather a pop punk bands. Real punk is like Black Flag, Dead Kennedys,etc.
