Kind of a boring stretch isnt it? In Toronto, we have a song about the team with a choreographed stretch that goes with it. Brings the fans together. Youtube search: Blue Jays 7th Inning Stretch and have a look :)
Camden Yards is really really nice. I'm in DC so I went to many RFK Nat's games which sucked, and now with there new ballpark all I can think of is going back to the yards. So, as soon as my summer classes are over im going to load up my car with friends and head to B-more.
Camden Yards is nice. I'm a Reds fan, so I have to go to Great American Ballpark, but a few years ago, I went to an Oriole/Blue Jays game, and was very impressed. Too bad they didn't win. I don't think they did anyway.
burns1210,I suppose your point's valid.I mean, after all,why would a once VERY proud, admired franchise, want their home town represented on its "away" jersey?! Maybe to Angelos, that would be rubbing more salt, into an already deepened wound.Especially considering, that he's made the ORIOLES the laughing stock,of the entire major leagues. But,that's right, the seats at Camden Yards are filled with a "whopping" ten thousand fans, per game.Good thing Yanks and BoSox fans, invade Baltimore 20 times a year!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Angelos owened the Orioles in 1973 when they stopped using Baltimore. The fact is, the Orioles are the Baltimore - North Carolina - Virginia - West Virginia - Deleware - (used to be) DC Orioles. The team didn't want to segregate themselves from those other fans by leaving Baltimore on the jersey.
Number one,City/State population is completely irrelevant, here! Now,When I wanna see the ORIOLES play,I go to Camden Yards, which I "THINK" is still located in BALTIMORE.Don't think I'd have a whole lotta luck, trying to see 'em play in,VA/DC/WV/NC or Del "A" ware. That's Del "A"! Not Del "E" ware! Ain't it gonna be sweet, burns?! Just imagine, that beautiful BALTIMORE in gorgeous script across the chest.I'll be thinkin' aboutcha, while you're sportin' that elusive DC/VA/WV/NC/DE ORIOLES jersey!
LMFAO...Are you friggin' kiddin' me,dildo?! This is just too effin' hilarious!!! Guy/Girl whatever you possibly MIGHT be,stop hatin'! Look,it's obvious you're just a miserable lil' troll, that nobody likes. You're the kid who rode the "short bus" to school, didn't have one friend, and cried yourself to sleep at night. The kid with ZERO talent/athletic ability, who got bullied on a daily basis.Hey burns,BALTIMORE in beautiful script, with a MARYLAND reference on the sleeve. That's gonna be sweet,ha?!!!
You need serious help, dude. How any sane human being can be so obsessed with the look of a baseball team's jersey is beyond me. Why can't we show a little pride in being different? No one makes fun of Pittsburgh for being the only city using all the same colors on all their pro teams. What the hell is wrong with a little originality? We haven't had a winning season in 10 years (and not 11 God willing) and the topic of discussion is their jerseys? I think it's time to recognize.
Too too funny! Number one imbecile,I'm HARDLY obsessed with "the look of a baseball team's jersey".And,what does a color scheme have ANYTHING to do with a City's name, across a jersey?! lol I could care a less about Pitt,or any other team colors, for that matter.Apparently, you suffer from a major case of ADHD,dude!!! You stray far off the beaten path, jerkoff. And genius, ever think with a PROFESSIONAL looking jersey, the team just might get a tad bit o' respect?! Say hi to Don and Bob for me,idiot.
Look,Forrest Gump, you might wanna dig a lil' deeper inside your new thesaurus.Although,I'm quite flattered I entertain you,so.Good to know you feel so SPEECHLESS!
Ten losing seasons is directly attributed to piss poor ownership.Peter Angelos turned his back on the city of Baltimore. That's where the "lack of respect" comes from.I NEVER claimed the "jerseys" were a factor in the demise of the organization, numnuts! Adios jackass! Your intelligence has cast a spell of ennui upon me.
After 36 years, it appears as if the city's name will make a return to the Orioles' road uniforms.
The Sun has learned that the Orioles are in the process of filing the required paperwork with Major League Baseball to add "Baltimore" to their road jerseys, replacing the nickname of the club that has adorned the away uniforms since 1973, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. The uniform change would go into effect for the 2009 season.
Few things make me smile and think of fun times in the summer like hearing "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" at Camden Yards during the 7th Inning Strech.
A little known fact...they play "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" because back in the 70's, a New York reporter called the Orioles "a bunch of country boys" in an article. The rest is history...

I'm from Philly and drive down to the Yard each year because this is the only ballpark in baseball nicer than the Bank.

Since you find it necessary to point out a spelling error, let me point out that here on Earth we put a space after punctuation.

I gotta tell you, your replies are very entertaining, it's like random musings of a madman.
Yeah, the 10 losing seasons and terrible team management had nothing to do with the lack of respect...it's the jerseys. (but no, you're not obsessed)
And I'm glad you could care less about Pittsburgh, because I COULDN'T care less. Dolt.
I've had enough of this idiotic argument, so piss off. Just communicating with someone on your level makes me feel more aphonic by the second.

Sorry, but this means NOTHING. If Fenway had seats for 6 million, I'm sure 3m would come.
In Maryland, just 10k.
