For those who are in trouble jumping from the door to that platform.... just spent 1 hour trying... then i tryied Jump (realy realy close from the edge) then hold Ctrl to crouch and Im easily there...

I reckon this has been modded, two reasons. 1. I've spent hours attempting to get that jump from the ledge to the moving platform beam emitter, it's just not happening. 2. So sure it may be possible if you are extremely lucky, but the is no way your going to be able to do it in one go like in this vid.

There are others on this video who have called shenanigans, I'm adding my voice to that.

@andyfrogman Of course you're not going to do this level in 1 go, unless you have a crazy amount of free time like this uploader apparently did (or perhaps he just got incredibly lucky). The hardest bit is directing the ball with cube, that took me around 20mins. The platform beam emitter jump is hard yes, but if you save before then it absolutely is possible!

I just did it now in about 30mins same as this video and I have not modded portal!

VERY impressive method here, it's completely LEGIT.

@sl9sl9 I found the energy ball pretty easy. It's the jump that's near impossible. I did discover that it's a hell of a lot easier to jump to the platform it's self than try to jump to the hub.

@andyfrogman I'm not sure what you mean by modded. But I'm NOT doing it in just 1 go without fails. I failed lots of times, so therefor I used save/load. Would have gone crazy trying to do a flawless run. I'm just showing how it is done. And the difficult jump you speak of, I do hope you have tried to crouch jump, cause that's what has to be done to make the leap.

@tyroxi By modded I mean that you altered the distance that you can jump in the developers panel. However, I have discovered that it's so much easier to just wait and jump onto the moving platform when it docks. I spent several hours attempting to jump onto the hub, but the very first time I attempted to jump on to the platform it's self I got it. I even tried it a second time to be sure and I got it again.

Spending time trying to jump to the hub is unnecessary and a waste of time.

I thought of this before but I was not able to get the cube down, how did you do it? I have watched your video and am still unable to grab the cube without using a portal to get up there. I have tried every possible way to jump and grab. Lowest I can get because of this is 3 portals.

I managed to do it this way. I was struggling with getting the first Cube at first, but after remapping the controls I did it. i mapped "mouse1" to "use" and positioned myself on the edge of the button. then saved. then while in the air I would click the mouse like crazy until I got the cube moving on the shelf.

it took me a few tries. sometimes because of so much clicking I would immidiately get and release the cube moving it even further of the edge, i.e. out of reach. then I had to reload.

omg i got the box down. all you have to do is go on the side of the red button and jump and it's easier if you change your use button to left mouse click

yes its true, if you can get the box down with no portals as we have seen here. And then throw it through the open doors so it gets stuck between them you can indeed do it with 0 portals.

However you'd need uber luck.

Nice technique. Deflecting the ball was a lot easier than making the jump onto the platform to get the 2nd box and back though.

Not necessarily, you can't get onto the ledge in the first room without portals. Even if you used the cube to jump up there, you'd have to abandon it.
