I honestly don't think "90% of computers out there aren't as powerful as the PS3" is actually wrong. Look at the cheap computers at Walmart. Most desktop machines and laptops don't have the best graphics cards or CPUs and are meant mostly for communication and media.
Also remember you can't compare the speed of processors with different architectures.

I love how Pachter's numbers are completely made up. You know, sometimes I think he's not a gamer at all. Like, AT ALL. He merely looks "business" enough to be taken seriously in expensive suits. From time to time he sits down to read the already prepared script twice and then hosts an internet show. Some years ago he saw the numbers for video games on the rise and decided he should get in on that. So he read a few magazines, contacted a few people and hired a young video editor, done.

I honestly don't think "90% of computers out there aren't as powerful as the PS3" is actually wrong. Look at the cheap computers at Walmart. Most desktop machines and laptops don't have the best graphics cards or CPUs and are meant mostly for communication and media.
Also remember you can't compare the speed of processors with different architectures.

@dfr343 Any PC with a graphics card anywhere near as good as the 8800GTX which could play Crysis on high is better than a PS3 or 360. and the 8800GTX is nearly 5 years old so it's pretty likely many people have cards of equal or greater power. Not necessarily cheap packaged Walmart PCs though, so you are right there. :)
