  • I haven't heard this song in years. The brass section is beautiful backing up two great vocalists. A classy song. Why don't people make this knid of musc any more?

  • wow! what a voice johnny duncan had. he is my all time favorite singer, rip johnny.

  • johnny duncan had such a beautiful voice, i could lisen to him sing all day long. i was shocked when i heard that he died. from, patty robertson.

  • How I miss the 70s. Country music just isn't the same now.

  • Great song...and well done by Johnny Duncun..and Janie Fricke. I love it!! It was written by the GREAT Kris Kristofferson in 1974. Just one of his many great hits. Love Kriss...and love his songs.

  • now that's true country sounds two great singers made a great duet song together for shure!!!

  • Now THIS is Country at it's best! Johnny Duncan and Janie Frickie produced some of the best C&W music around.

  • I love Johnny Duncan and J.F. That was the time there was good music! Nowadays, there are just "wannabes"

  • @sandyRNdisco Right on Sandy, Today's country is a joke. These 2 are one of the most underated duets of all.Right up there with George and Tammy.

  • hi darren what r u doing its me brenda

  • hey darrn

  • There seems to be little interest in Johnny Duncan music. I don't get it!

  • i dont either

  • I love this song. These two are the greatest duets that I have heard. All of the songs are great. Janie Fricke is the best.

Johnny Duncan's songs are the best country music. Their music leaves you with a good feeling.

  • Love this song, I hear it on the radio occasionally and its very relaxing.

  • I love Johnny and Janie but I can't get my favorites to download to my Itunes. Got any ideas? I would love to take their music with me.

  • This song was/is part of what I consider "The Golden Era of Country Music." I was in Nashville during the late 70's and early 80's and those years are among my favorite memories. The great ones were still around in coffee shops and clubs and Music Row was alive and well. Thanks for bringing us country music from this golden era.

  • Im only 15 but i know these were the good songs! I love oldies

  • I'm glad you have an appreciation for the oldies, horseygirl. Thank you for your message. You're young, and you'll have the opportunity to see and hear some of the new artists who carry on the old traditional songs. You'll have good memories like I do. Here's one you might like: My 15 year old niece, Maggie Thorn, won the Midsouth Fair Talent Competition in Memphis last night, Oct 4. They tell us her winning performance will be posted on youtube very soon. Watch for MAGGIE THORN.

  • The youtube video from The Dixie Theater, which mentions Maggie Thorn is not Maggie's winning performance. It should state that the video is from the Midsouth Fair in Memphis. I think they'll post Maggie's "I Wanna Be A Cowboy's Sweetheart." I apologize for posting this on Johnny Duncan page. This note is in response to a message I received from horseygirl.

  • These two where one of the greatest duets of all country music. All the songs they sing together are great but I still think their best was "Thinkin' of a Rendezvous".

  • ici chatte31 cette chanson est une grande perle de CKVL et je remercis les personnes grace a qui je peut l'écouter

  • I miss the embrace of a woman, looking back, only the drunk ones wanted me. Now I have to wash my own socks and nobody to talk to,---why did women have to change?

  • You should have changed too and you'd still feel that embrace!

  • I did change, I guess......aw I don't know what to think anymore......

  • that gives me a good chucklle

  • these 2 were great..like butter and bread

  • Probably (some may say it's debatable, but...) the definitive reading of this Kristofferson classic. Note how Kris always managed to include the word "stoned" in the lyrics to his songwriting output from this period. Where did you dredge up the photo of young Johnny Duncan at :29? Looks like an aspiring rockabilly...RIP Johnny.

  • great Kris Kristofferson song:)

  • In that list of "Under-rated Songs of All Time" this one has to be in the top five. This is absolutely gold.

  • video please

  • glad to hear this one again

  • one of the best !! good record.

  • They both had such beautiful voices, I am surprised that they weren't instant stars.

  • actually they were pretty big stars, especially janie

  • What a great tune. I can't believe no one else has covered it.

  • please God, no one cover it...It's a Johnny and Janie song only.

  • Wow! This sounds nuts...but my dad loves this song and it brings tears to my eyes as everytime we have a few and this comes on ...the memories always come back of him...he's still around but he does not live where i am now. Wish he was here and could here this!!! Thanks...

  • This song is my all time favorite and has been for many years, Johnny Duncan should have been on the Grand O Opry a long time ago.

  • That he should have! Thanks for listening!

  • I second that

  • this is the best Johnny D. song in my book.

  • It surely is!

  • Another great country song, Thanks

  • That it is! Thanks for listening!

  • the best with the horns, gives it that special touch...just like a tuxedo from start to finish.....

  • It sure is! Thanks for stopping by!

  • Unforgettable song from two of the most underrated country performers of all time.

  • Agreed! Thanks for listening!

  • no question janie had a great voice, arguably THE best voice in country music for many years, but she shouldn't get top billing over Johnny.

  • his best records were '77 and '78. "Johnny Duncan" and "the Best is Yet to Come" if anyone has some of the lesser knowns songs off these like Damn it All, Candy, I Watched An Angel (Going through hell), A Lifetime to Learn, etc please put em up

  • it's been forever since i heard this on 650 AM in nashville. i always thought kristofferson recorded it, but apparently he just wrote it. beautiful song, one of the great country songs of the 70s.

  • mdgtrpckr I think I have heard Kris sing it too, but I do believe this one made the bigger hit.

  • If ever there was a better country duet, I haven't heard it. Two gifted singers, and a song with a powerful story. Thanks!

  • Very well put! Thanks for listening!

  • You are so very welcome! Thanks for stopping by!

  • Probably someone is losing song royalties, the usual money trail. I liked the video too!

    Great music.

  • Can anyone tell me why Jannie Frickie and Johnny Duncan song stranger ( sang together on stage was taken off youtube ) which looks like this version was replaced, I loved that duet done by both great artist....awesome song...

Always one to turn the radio up loud

    Thanks
