@bender844 Check out some philosophy. Start with Descartes, he said I can only be sure that I exist (that's where "I think therefore I am" comes from), but there's no way I can be sure anyone else exists. The whole world can be a dream that some higher being is forcing you to see.

@bender844 much of philosophy is metaphorical, what he describes is just that, a way of perceiving the world or existence by investigating all the posibilties the mind can wrap around this experience we call life. you are using a phil. device referred to as a slippery slope, i.e. if he bellieves this then inevitably he will also believe this but it is not always that simplistic. i highly recommend reading christopher hitchens rip, he views life much more literally. cheers
