The Sterling is lower (in terms of roof height) than almost any car on the planet...a fact that you're very aware of when lying on your back driving it it traffic. For better or worse, it is MUCH lower than a C4 Corvette (by almost 9 inches!) I measured my Sterling as 38 inches to the top of the roof. Did I mention that it's not much fun in traffic? But you can drive under parked 18 wheelers which is a real hoot!
@SkerlingKitCars lol, dang realy?, well that’s cool, I like my sport cars small, and low to the ground, the c4 is 47 inches high, it was the lowest vette made, and that’s why I like it, maybe im thinking about buying a sterling, its exotic looking, but it doesn’t seem to have a instant recognizable look, or solid history to my knowledge, maybe I need 2 do more research online, but isn’t it in a replica category? was this car mass produced as a specific car, or had a production line?
Sterlings are wonderful little, very inexpensive, very exotic cars. I have had people walk right past a $90,000 Porsche just to look at my $9,000 Sterling(!) They are EXTREME attention getters. Sterlings were designed as kit cars but were not a replica of any one existing car per se. They are their own breed. Only about 850 were ever made. Front rims are 17 inch by 8 wide. Rear rims are 17 inch by 9 wide. These widths seemed to give the best tire fitment for the overall tire size and style I was going for. I can't remember what the raw offsets were, but I can tell you for sure that my target back-spacing was 4.5 inches WITH adapters in place. A more thorough discussion exists on our site. just wondern, how tall is the car?, is it the same hight as a c4 corvette you think?
