The average soldier was NOT a Nazi! Even if they listened to the final German Victory, didn't every nation believe in a final victory? Infact many of the soldiers could not even JOIN the Nazi Party unless they were SS.

They are German prisoners war who were interned in Canada and the United States who were swapped for Canadian and American prisoners of war in held Germany, this took place in either Sweden or Spain as both were neutral nation and as such the Germans and Canadians/Americans couldn't fire at one another on Swedish or Spanish soil. They are returning in 1944. War was still on. In 1945 the war was over. I would think they would come home in 1945.....Thats all
